We are starting this week with a focus on the clean automotive YouTube channel.

You will discover there or see all the tests carried out by our shock youtuber Maxime Fontanier, which leads almost everything that has four wheels and an electric motor for several years. So these are dozens of models that have passed into his hands for detailed tests in an ideal format of clips lasting 10 minutes where the essential is addressed.

But let’s go back to our season, which therefore started on September 1, 2022. Things happened in the world of the electric car during these 11 months.

On the test side, here is the top 5 of the season, namely the tests of our YouTube channel that carried out the strongest audience.

We start immediately with the number 5, this is the Ford F150 Lightning test, the Mahousse pick-up of Ford, which is in line with the series, this range of pick-ups and SUV that have been among the best -selling cars for decades not only in the USA but in the world. Let us listen to what Maxime said in this test dated October 10, 2022.

Number 4, the Smart #1 test, the first real Mercedes subsidiary in the 100% electric, with a compact SUV all in curves, very well equipped, and which promises more than 400 kilometers of WLTP autonomy. An test published on December 6, 2022.

In third place in this top 5 clean car tests of the 2022-2023 season, there is a fairly unexpected challenger, and not very well known here. I mean the Leapmotor T03. That may not say anything to you, so a little reminder: Arrival of China, the Leapmotor T03 is a small 5-door 100 % electric car very close in size of the Fiat 500E, and which is starting to do its first rounds in a wheel in Europe. Second on the podium of clean automotive tests, that of the XEV Yoyo ! Behind this strange but very singing name is not hiding a Chinese but an … Italian. Proposed by the Italian Startup XEV, the Yoyo is not a car proper. Classified in the category of heavy quadricycles, it is accessible from 16 years old with the B1 license. Finally … drum bearings, the number 1 test of this 2022-2023 season is that of the standard MG4. Finally a “normal” car you tell me ! U.S. too ! But to be honest, the surprise was in size. Indeed, who would have thought that in addition to being unbeatable in prices, the MG4 would also be ultra fun to drive ? At 22,990 euros bonus deducted, the standard version is undoubtedly the affordable electric compact that we all expected. The electric car today represents more than 10% of registrations in France, a figure which continues to progress, and which will probably become the majority before the end of the decade.

At Automobile Clean we support this transition to less polluting movements of travel for almost 14 years as a specialized media. A mission which is also available at the level of the clean car owner group, which publishes the ChargeMap platform, well known to electric car drivers.

We consider, however, that Our commitment to decarbonized mobility should not be incompatible with the attraction for the automobile, which remains and must remain a practical means of independence and freedom.

Our activity leads us to try dozens of models throughout the year, and to the editorial staff, we sometimes classify them after long fiery debates to find out what is “the best”.

It is therefore quite natural that we had the idea of ​​creating this trophy of the electric car of the year, the Watts d’Or automobile clean, in order to continue to register in this movement and testify our passion intact for the ‘Automobile innovation.
