The specific absorption (DAS) absorption flow quantifies the exposure of the user to the electromagnetic waves of the equipment concerned. The maximum authorized DAS is 2 W/kg for the head and the trunk and 4 W/kg for the members.

What is Das ?

The specific absorption flow rate (DAS) measures the maximum radiofrequency emission made by a radio device, it is expressed in watts per kilogram (W/KG). This index makes it possible to measure the amount of electromagnetic energy that the user receives from a device via the waves. It is therefore the power of the wave that the electronic device emits during its use.

The lower the index and the less the device emits, the user is therefore less exposed. Three types of DAS exist to measure exposure to mobile phone:

• The “head” das reflects the use of the phone to the ear, in vocal conversation. The current limit value is 2W/kg.
• The Das “Trunk” is associated with the uses where the phone is carried near the body. The current limit value is 2W/kg.
• The DAS “Member” corresponds to the use of a plated phone against a member. The current limit value is 4W/kg.

NOTICED : The DAS is often lower on a reconditioned phone than on a new phone. Indeed, the reconditioned telephone having already had a first use before will make less waves than a new phone.
