Mycanal compatibility with LG TV

Good morning,
The My Canal Application has just released on May 2, 2021 on Webos and LG Content Store, equipping LG TV. Unfortunately, many LG users have awaited this delivery impatiently but it turns out that few equipment are compatible (even the most recent). The purpose of this topic is therefore to identify any reason and list the material compatible according to the subscribers of the subscribers.

Yes there is a solution: pass on Apple TV. Sorry but this is the only viable solution to have a mycanal in optimal quality, the canal ingenious not subject to the same quality constraints when it is a LG app

I have a sufficient fiber: no problem on Netflix, Disney+ in HDR, Dolby Vision etc
On the other hand on the My Canal Live 4K application, I very often have blocking bp, it raises, that freeze etc etc. Is there a solution ?

Hello Olivier in my previous post I said that the MyCanal application on TV LG did not work well at the bottom of 2Mbits my TV OLED LG is 4 k ! We do not have the possibility of investigating at this level. In this case, we will never ask for the IP of a subscriber (which would communicate it to us in public and then be exposed to possible piracy attempts).
To do this, it is essential to get closer to our technical service, which may even climb the concern with the ISP if the technician considers that it is necessary.

Incredible: “in doubt, reboot”, here is the only explanation of the pseudo-technical channel, which does not even ask for the customer’s IP in order to investigate a little further on its problem, and whose team of dev de The webos app did not even take the time to test the integration of paramount+ on low speed connections.
Obviously, this kind of laxity does not pass on the AppStore, whose channel app is oddly more successful (no need to re-install the app to see Paramount+ function properly). Do not dream dear LG user, the app offered on our TV will always be well rotten: Pass on Apple TV if you want to adjust all your PB. For my part it is done and I will surely not come back to this non -successful LG version

If your concern for his persists on paramount+content, I invite you to make a new resettlement of mycanal and keep us informed.

If you go through an amp/sound bar, disconnect them temporarily to make sure that this is not a concern for compatibility or installation.

Olivier I hope you will see this post I take advantage of the arrival of Paramount Plus at Canal to raise the problem of low speed with the mycanal application of my 2019 LG TV The problem is the same !Black screen for paramount more . On this mycanal app for LG TV there is no flow adjustment as for app for Android TV . I tested with a flow of 2 Mbit the G9 Technicolor and its mini in beta my 2 G9 Technicolor Prod, Fire TV, Fire TV Cube and my Apple TV and on all these supports it works at the bottom ! It’s a shame that it doesn’t work on the application of LG TV Good evening

Gerarmanvuca thank you ! This setting on the MyCanal application for my LG TV This setting is not available ! I have a cube tv fire and actually this setting is planned and it does not work top top with a flow rate of 2.1 Mbit/s but it works also I have a UHD channel decoder the g9 connected by satellite for live and to Internet for replay and on -demand service and it works. Spend a good weekend !

For your info, on a SONY TV XR range (2021)/ Google TV interface (or any other equipment under Android TV), we have the possibility of adjusting the streaming flow for people being in the same case as you, having a Very low adsl network flow, perhaps even variable if you are very far from the NRA .

With a very low flow (perhaps variable in ADSL), you have the possibility in the settings of the MyCanal application to choose the streaming flow, did you try by selecting “intermediary” ?

better and better the mycanal app on LG TV OS:

  • Deconnexion in full viewing
  • 4K UHD which oar, despite a sufficient flow (fiber) and a recent TV (LG C1)

To sum up, you need an Apple TV or equivalent so as not to have a problem.

I understand. However, our FAQ clearly indicates that for a format greater than SD (and I’m not even talking about 4K), the minimum flow is 3Mbps. I am not aware of additional recent restrictions so I do not know why you access MyCanal before, but more today.

If the concern still persists despite yet another resettlement of MyCanal, I invite you to get closer to our technical experts (even if in my opinion, with such a low speed, they will not be able to do miracles).

Good evening Olivier The software version of my TV is 05.50.10 I connected my TV in two ways in wifi and by cpl with the two I have the same result in June it worked with sometimes the red circle which turns on I think it is called latency. On this TV I I have the Netflix and Amazon Video app that it is native and it works well with a low speed . I have an Apple TV 4 k of first generation and a Cube TV Fire which is also compatible with 4 k ! And the mycanal apps work well even at low speed I do not say that it is 4 k !! You must ask yourself why this fada buys 4 k equipment since it has no fiber and no quality ADSL ☺️☺️ I just want from time to time to have fun by connecting all this material has an orange airbox For the 4 g I hope not to have been too long ! have a nice evening !

Currently, the Canal+ application can only be used by Canal+ subscribers, and not TV by Canal subscribers at Free/Orange. Unlike the MyCanal application.

But LG TV only have the channel application+.

Here, we hope to find help for installing and using this MyCanal app. Come and say that everything is fine on your TV does not help those (many) who have latency or even installation problems.
LG indicated that the app has been developed for models with Webos 5.0 and 6.0. (and not always optimally). For those who have a 2020 model but still not the webos 5 version, LG advises to reset the TV settings.
On the canal side no info, neither on the exit from the app nor on its expected improvements (webos 4 and 3 compatibility, fluidity during use, etc. ))
