Livebox 6: easily connect your equipment

You want to associate equipment (WiFi repeater, TV decoder, other WiFi equipment provided that it is compatible) with the Livebox 6.

Before you start

• Check that the WiFi of the Livebox 6 is activated.
• Check that the equipment to be connected to the Livebox is compatible. You will find this information on the instructions for using the equipment or on the website of Wi-Fi Alliance.

If the equipment is not compatible, you must associate it with the livebox using the safety key.

You can check the equipment connections in the configuration interface, section My connected equipment.

If you notice that your equipment is not connected to the Livebox, we invite you to check the activation of the so -called WPS association in the configuration interface. If you notice that the WPS is activated but that the equipment cannot be associated, connect this equipment using the safety key of the Livebox 6.

Livebox 6 offers premium connection and WiFi

Thanks to two possible connections:

• Wireless (Ethernet), the Livebox 6 distributes the entire flow down to 2gbit/s within the home. The rate amount to the orange fiber network is 800Mbit/s.
• In wifi, The Livebox 6 provides access to the best of WiFi for an optimal connection with the latest evolution of the standard WiFi 6e. This new WiFi 6e standard allows the use of a 3rd frequency band of 6GHz, open in France since December 2021.

Tri-band and having Smart wifi (1), the Livebox 6 automatically and in real time optimizes the connection of the household, especially during the hours when the network is the most used.

This 3rd frequency band, the 6 GHz, thus offers an additional possibility of network detection, very useful when you live in a large agglomeration. Associated with the standard WiFi 6th, These technologies make it possible to offer flows higher than WiFi 5 of the Livebox 5 under optimal conditions (with compatible 6th WiFi equipment, without electro magnetic interference, etc.).

A vertical design

The vertical format of the Livebox 6 promotes the broadcasting of WiFi for better coverage in the accommodation. Indeed, the antenna block is placed above and remotely from other components (electronic cards, routing, radiators, etc.) so that the broadcast of WiFi is not disturbed by the latter.

A design that takes into account the environment

At each generation of boxes, Orange seeks to innovate and optimize their design to improve internet connectivity at home while limiting environmental impacts, mainly due to the manufacture of boxes and its energy consumption.

A more sustainable box

The Livebox 6 was first thought of to last as long as possible. Design choices facilitate its reconditioning (easy to disassemble, simple wear parts, scratch -resistant shell), repair and recycling at the end of life. The shell and the fabric that covers it are made of 100% recycled and recyclable plastic.

The environmental impact of the packaging has also been studied: it is made of recycled cardboard, raw not bleached, and from sustainably managed forests (FSC label (2)). Inks are vegetable, based on water. For the first time at Orange, this packaging does not contain any plastic.

Optimized energy consumption

The Livebox 6 also incorporates features aimed at optimizing its energy consumption with, in major innovation at Orange, 2 standby modes, by hand of our customers:

• A slight watch where the fixed telephone service is activated only
• A deep watch where all services are disabled.

Accessible from the box screen and from the Orange and I application, the deep watch allows the Livebox 6 to save up to 85% energy compared to its consumption without having activated the standby mode.

Other advantages also allow energy gains:

• The screen tactile uses electronic ink technology low consumption “E-ink” and only consumes energy when the display is changed.
• The system of natural ventilation is facilitated by the vertical format of the box and an aluminum radiator promoting thermal dissipation. It now replaces the traditional electric ventilation.
