iPhone 2018: Technical sheet of iPhone XS, XS Max and XR
Apple formalized the iPhone XS and XS Max as well as the iPhone XR during the Keynote of September 12, 2018. The iPhone XS, closer heir to the iPhone X, is equipped with a 5.8 -inch OLED screen. The iPhone XS Max is entitled to a huge 6.5 -inch OLED screen does not provide Samsung and soon LG, confirming that the Cupertino firm wishes to position itself on large formats. Finally, the 6.1 inch iPhone XR, with LCD slab this time, constitutes a lower -end alternative. Apple, however, ensures that this is the best LCD screen on the market, an assertion that will have to be verified.

The three smartphone models are all entitled to the new Apple A12 Bionic Soc engraved in 7 Nm. The Cupertino firm insisted for a long time on the performance of the chip, not hesitating in passing to compare it to Android solutions. The iPhone XS and XS Max will be the first smartphones to embark a 7nm engraved sock. The Huawei Mate 20 Pro will then follow with the Kirin 980 and that should be everything for 2018. We were able to read a benchmark from the iPhone XS and its A12. Technology will start to expand in 2019 with the SOC Snapdragon 855, while Samsung will also pass with the Exynos 9820.
The iphone X 2018 OLED models will have storage capacity up to 512 GB, a first at Apple. Two other possibilities at 64 and 256 GB are also offered. Regarding the iPhone XR, there are also three variants: 64, 128 and 256 GB. The iPhone XS and XS Max embark 4 GB of RAM, while the iPhone XR is satisfied with 3 GB, like the 2017 iPhone X of 2017.
The iPhone XS has a smaller battery than the iPhone X (2658 mAh against 2716 mAh), while the XS Max has the biggest capacity seen on an iPhone (3174 mAh). For its part, the XR has a 2018 Les iPhone battery is still not entitled to a fast charger in the box. A simple 5W sector adapter is supplied with smartphones. On the autonomy side, Apple promises that the iPhone XS Max and XR hold on average 1:30 more than the iPhone 8. Not necessarily a feat as autonomy is iPhone is not really their strong point.
Double photo sensor on the iPhone xs and xs max, simple sensor on the iPhone XR
The iPhone XS and XS embark on the rear a double photo sensor 12 Mp wide-angle opening ƒ/1.8 and 12 Mp with telephoto lens and opening ƒ/2.4. A setup that allows, among other things, to take better photos in low light conditions compared to what the iPhone X offers. The iPhone XR is satisfied with a single 12 Mp opening sensor ƒ/1.8.
The three models are equipped with the same 7 MP front camera with ƒ/2.2 opening and portrait mode with advanced bokeh effect and depth control. In addition, the TrueDepth and Face ID camera are present on the three models. Apple explained that in the matter, the iPhone XR is as effective as the XS and XS max.
Double sim
The iPhone XS are double sim, a nano sim and esim, the latter will not work at the moment. Apple explains that we have to wait for a future update to operate the ESIM. China is not affected by this expectation since the smartphone available on this market will simply be double nano sim, unlike Europe and the United States. On the 4G side, the iPhone XS and XS Max are twice as fast as the iPhone X.
What design for iPhone 2018, iPhone XS, XS Max and XR ?
We told you, the iPhone XR and the iPhone XS in 2018 borrow a lot from the original iPhone X, including their borderless design with their characteristic notch screen. Nevertheless, its design is not unanimous with furious feminists against Apple, because they are too big for the hands of women. The borders have refined a bit on the OLED models, but that’s it. On the color side, Apple remained on sober, except for the LCD model which sends the mirettes full.
Three worthy heirs of the iPhone X
It is not a surprise: the three new iPhones look a lot like the iPhone X. During the pairs years, Apple normally presents an evolution of its range while the largest innovations are launched in the odd years. Thus, the iPhone XR and the two iPhone XS are based on the achievements of the iPhone X in terms of design. In addition, a video shows how resistant the iPhone XS is when it comes to the youtubeur jerryrige rid.
Two sober iPhone X, and an iphone XR with tangy colors
In terms of colors, the two high -end iPhones are satisfied with something classic and sober, with gold, gray and silver colors. Nothing surprising on this side, the Cupertino firm plays the premium card. On the other hand, we have much more fun for the iPhone XR, which is entitled to 6 rather original colors like the iPhone 5C: yellow, coral, white, blue, orange and red.
iPhone XS, XS Max and XR: Price and release date
Pre -orders of the iPhone XS and XS Max started on September 14, 2018 and ended on September 21, 2018, the date of the official release of the two models. You have to be a little more patient for the iPhone XR, which will not be available until October 26, 2018, with an opening of pre -orders on October 19.

iPhone XR: all its characteristics, sound and price and our impressions

The iPhone XR was unveiled at the beginning of September 2018 during the traditional Apple back to school. It has been available since October 26, 2018. He did not arrive on his own on the shelves of the Apple Store, but accompanied by XS and XS Max models. It differs from these however at the size, but also from a few other technical details. It is also cheaper than its two cousins, settling at the time really in the iPhone range as the cheapest of new iPhone.

In 2019, the iPhone XR experienced a successor, the iPhone 11 that we detailed here. However, Apple did not remove it from its shelves. The machine is still on sale. In addition, due to its already old release date, the iPhone XR can be easily found in reconditioned and obviously second -hand. In these two cases, this may be particularly interesting, with a low price for a machine that always has it under the hood. Here is all the information to know about Apple’s iPhone XR.
iPhone SE 64 GB at the best price basic price: € 489
The main characteristics of the iPhone XR
Design and box: larger than X/XS/11
The iPhone XR is in the form of a terminal with rounded corners, from 150.9 x 75.7 x 8.3 mm, for a weight of 194 g. Its dress consists of glass and aluminum, and the finish is exemplary, as for each Apple product.

At the front, we find the typical notch of the iPhone X/XR/XS/XS Max necessary in the Face ID and also present on iPhone 11, 11 Pro and 11 Pro Max.
It is apparently very close to other smartphones released the same year, xs and xs max. In fact, the only visual change is at the back of the smartphone. The iPhone XR has only one photo sensor, against 2 for iPhone XS and XS Max.
Let’s finish by note that the water resistance is guaranteed IP67, corresponding to an impermeability of the case during an immersion up to 1 meters deep for 30 minutes maximum.

Screen: LCD without 3D Touch
Regarding the screen, the iPhone XR incorporates an LCD Liquid Retina HD 6.1 inch Diagonal slab. It displays the following resolution: 1,792 x 828 pixels at 326 ppi. The contrast is 1 400/1 and the True Tone is there. On the other hand, no 3D touch for the iPhone XR, but the Haptic Touch, simulating a physical return during a long support. Overall, 3D Touch and Haptic Touch allow in iOS to have access to the same shortcuts.
Processor and RAM
The A12 Bionic processor is the heart of the iPhone XR, equipped with 6 hearts and 2nd generation Neural Engine technology. This chip also teams the iPhone XS and XS Max. For the RAM, it takes 3 GB on the iPhone XR, as on the 2017 X model, 1 less than the iPhone XS, XS Max and 11/11 Pro Max.
Autonomy: very good
The battery of the iPhone XR, with its 2942 mAh, is able, according to Apple, to offer an hour and a half of additional autonomy compared to the iPhone 8 Plus. According to the returns seen there, the autonomy of the device is excellent.

Conclusion and opinion
The iPhone XR is certainly the iPhone currently in highmarks at Apple with the best quality price report, As seen in our detailed test. It has everything recent iPhone, Face ID, comfortable power, beautiful screen and photo capacities largely sufficient for a majority of users.
So for sure, the notch could scare some. But for the moment, the Face ID remains the most efficient and secure facial analysis solution, all competitors combined.
Others could criticize the single sensor at the rear of the device. But again, it should be noted that the iPhone XR is the model with the cheapest Face ID of the range currently. In addition, with this single photo sensor, it is possible to make very beautiful prints and excellent videos to 4K. We arrived at a stage where 95 % of users do not really need more.
Finally, despite the absence of the OLED, the screen remains very good. It seems difficult to criticize the latter unless you put it in direct comparison with an OLED more recent iPhone, and again ..
A single little regret in my opinion should be noted for the iPhone XR. Its size of 6.1 inches might not be suitable for everyone. It requires either large hands or to do many actions in both hands. We therefore advise you to go and try it in store, in Apple Store if possible, to see how you can interact with the device with one hand, and thus, really understand if the format is suitable or not.
In the end for its price, for the different variations of colors (including the Red that we particularly appreciate), for its ID side and its technical characteristics, the iPhone XR is in our opinion perhaps One of the best iPhone never left by Apple.
