You are in the process of completing a PDF form (at the computer, not with a pen …). An area has been planned to place your signature there but you do not know how to do it to sign this document (you do not want to print the form, sign it, then scan …)

Solution

  • First take a sheet of white paper and write your signature (with blue or black-piece pen)
  • Open the PDF form in Overview (right button> Open with …)
  • In preview, ask to display the toolbar (the button Tools can change appearance depending on the versions)
  • Click on the button Signature >Create a signature > tab Camera
  • Take your sheet of paper and place your signature in front of the eye of the camera of your MacBook or Imac; A blue line allows you to properly align your signature
  • Do not move (this is the most difficult part) and click the button Finished
  • Your signature is now stored and appears in the signature gallery (under the button Signature))
  • Just click on your signature; Place it at the desired location on the PDF and resize it if necessary

If you do not currently have a PDF to sign but you just want to memorize your signature in Overview:

  • Open overview, go to the menu Tools >Annotate >Signature >Manage signatures >Create a signature

You can of course create several signatures; They will be stored in preview for subsequent use.
