As if their disgusting appearance was not enough, they must be amputated with their members to put them out of harm. As you engage in the bowels of the ship, you discover the evil from which the crew of this space is suffered from this.

Shooting and hand-to-body shots inevitably leading to abuses at the limit of the bearable, this is what the gameplay of The Callisto Protocol has to offer you. Hémoglobin players will be served while those looking for a more constructed scenario will remain a little hungry. Often compared to Dead Space, The Callisto Protocol stands out for its bloodier character. The Callisto Protocol is more visual, where Dead Space Put more on an oppressive environment.

Signaling: a PS5 horror game with a retro style

€ 19.99 on steam
In a dystopian future, Elster, Android serving humans, wakes up after several years of sleeping. She realizes that her ship has crashed and goes in search of her human binomial. She then sinks little by little into the depths of the planet who is full of mysteries and little convenient monsters. The artistic direction is based on impressive work by integrating 3D into 2D pixelated decorations. The graphics are both very modern and perfectly executed with a well -controlled retro style.

This unprecedented game does good in the decoration of the survival-horror mainly supplanted by remakes and other adaptations. Your address during clashes will not be enough to get out of it. The management of your resources and the resolution of puzzles constitute the basis of the gameplay. The meticulous investigation of your environment, looking for an index, completes the game mechanics, ultimately quite classic. Signs is a real psychological horror game, especially thanks to its cryptic universe, but also thanks to its unique graphic style allowing sometimes strange configurations that integrate perfectly into the world of play.

What is the most creepy horror game ?
Difficult to name one that would be more creepy. It all depends on what you expect from a horror game. If you are focused on the graphics and the scenario matters little, The Callisto Protocol should satisfy your bloodthirsty impulses. If you are more in the big show, the remake of Resident Evil 4 promises to be a reference. For the nostalgic more oriented towards the psychological argument with puzzles to be resolved in an oppressive atmosphere, Signs is the game you need. As of Dead Space, He succeeds in combining scenario, dismal atmosphere and dismemberments of absolutely filthy creatures, with the details of the bonus shreds.
What is the first horror game ?
The world of video games agree thatHautned House is the first horror game. Released in 1981 on Atari 2600, he revolves around a character represented by a pair of eyes and therefore in search of three pieces of urns distributed in a haunted manor.
Needless to say, at that time, the developers had to redouble their inventiveness to create a scary atmosphere and make the public shiver. The rooms were only vast black cubes and the monsters were frankly not scary visually. However, the game defines the basis of what will make the best survival-horror later: a labyrinth plunged into darkness, management of items in an inventory with restricted locations and rudimentary equipment in addition to a gauge of life sometimes short.
With the graphic and technical progress of consoles, video game developers are very prolific in the 90s. This decade sees the first references of horror games appear with in particular Alone in the dark, released in 1992, and later the first resident Evil in 1996.
The future of Numerama is coming soon ! But before that, we need you. You have 3 minutes ? Answer our investigation
Top 10: Horror video games, those who really freak out !
The human being is quite curious. Indeed, among all the feelings he may experience, fear is one of the worst, and yet he constantly seeks to find him, for his pleasure. Films, series, comics and video games, there is no shortage of supports, and today it is in video games that we are interested. No trouble scary with a video game while letting our brain fat, no ?

So beware, we are not going to put the great classics of the horror game in this top. No resident Evil nor silent Hill (well almost). We don’t put you here that big shiver well hardcore as it should.
10) Zombiu
Zombiu is one of the first titles to be released on the last Nintendo fair console at the end of 2012. This game has marked a new step in the horror game, especially thanks to the Wii U gamepad which is used in a very effective way. The experience is very immersive. The zombies will give you a hard time. If you die then that you have spent a lot of time collecting lots of practical objects, you will no longer have them, because you will simply be a new character. It will therefore be necessary to find your corpse in this post-apocalyptic London in order to use these hard-accumulated objects.
9) Dead Space

Series Dead Space brings in the same way as Zombiu A breath of freshness in the world of horror games. Many games have tried in the 2000s to settle in space to file the scoring to players, but there are few those who are at the level of Dead Space. And even if the two other episodes that succeeded him are slightly less good than the first, it is a pleasure to play in this title of EA. Walking in empty and dark corridors at the risk of being attacked by a mutant creature, or not besides, it is a feeling that you never get tired of. And it is not Isaac Clarke who will tell you the opposite.
8) Condemned

Creepy. A word that sums up the game Condemned. Lots of horror games are in sight in the first person but very little are both screwed up and that one. Admittedly, the story goes a little in peanuts when we are told of an alien conspiracy between other idiots, but hey, it’s not worse than the major part of today’s horror films. Special mention for enemies who hide on purpose to freak out while we are fighting with.
7) Alien: insulation

The world of video games and even cinema was not nice to the offspring of Ridley Scott. The bet was risky to shudder the public after many bullshit made with the saga Alien (we always try to forget Alien 4). But Alien: insulation holds the bet and managed to freak out. The game is quite long on certain sequences but we forgive it.
6) SIREN: Blood Curse

Another game that shines by mechanics hitherto unused. We can get into the minds of his enemies in order to learn more about the environments that surround us. In this game, our enemies are, for a short time, our friends. We cannot move forward in the game without them.
5) Project Zero II: Crimson Butterfly

There are a lot of Project Zero after this one, but this episode remains in the annals. Enemies are omnipresent: These are ghosts. We cannot touch them, sometimes we can’t even see them, but they are there, all the time. To attack them, nothing more logical: a camera called Camera obscura which is magic and allows you to hurt the spirits. Crazy, you say ?
4) Five Nights at Freddy’s

Almost all parts of Five Night at Freddy’s Finish in the same way: a mechanical demon shouts on the screen and runs to you, overthrowing your chair every time (or that may be just me). It’s predictable, and that’s what scares. You know when to cover your eyes to avoid infarction.
3) Outlast

You liked the movies RA (except the third of course) and their “found footage” aspect as they say in the jargon ? You will love Outlast. You embody a journalist in a mad asylum that has no equipment only his night vision camera. And most of the game takes place in the dark, otherwise it’s not funny. Camera batteries are quickly empty, so you will have to make choices. Hide, observe and run. Run really fast.
2) Amnesia: The Dark Descent

After finishing this game, we can buy a t-shirt “I survived at Amnesia: The Dark Descent“”. No kidding. How to do not have a heart attack ? The sequence of water, there. It’s not possible. It’s not human. Finish this game is a trying experience. Our character must hide to survive. Except that when he hides, he is in darkness, and the darkness drives him crazy. So he is forced to flirt with death. A bit like Deadpool, but less. sexual.
1) p.T.

The new king of horror has arrived. And it’s not even a full game. Indeed, P.T. is a playable teaser (teaser) of Silent Hills, The next title of Hideo Kojima, dad of the saga Metal Gear Solid. The photorealism of the game makes the experience of the most disturbing. We can no longer wait for the release of this game which will be the star Norman Reedus, the interpreter of Daryl Dixon in the series The Walking Dead.
And since a top 10 is never enough and some have other more creepy games in mind, so remember to offer your list in comment in order to complete the ours !

Schizophrenic semi-hysterical doubled with a pretentious narcissist, as well as dangerous socio-speaking addicted to Deadpool and Kirby Games.

The 6 facts on Dragon Ball that makes no sense

Destiny: a hunter ends the cropta raid alone in 30 minutes in difficult

By Paulito, 9 years ago:
It makes you want to redo a little game of Dead Space all that with the helmet on his ears !
By Thaâr, 9 years ago (in response to Paulito):
I liked Allan Wake Personally, there are two three passages in the night with just a flashlight that are very trying 🙂
By J254P, 9 years ago:
Five Nights at Freddy’s . At first yes but after it’s boring.
By Wartaxe, 9 years ago:
Personally I don’t really see what Dead Space does here ^^
Even if the game is excellent, fear is not really there, they are mainly screaming and again 🙂
By lumbe33, 9 years ago (in response to Wartaxe):
Personally I am not all followers of this kind of games, but I once tested Dead Space and I was very afraid X)
I think the immersion (helmet, lighting light ect. ) do a lot !;)
By Durilla, 9 years ago (in response to Lombre33):
Since there is Zombiu and a pseudo game demo of the same 10 min long, in the top, we can suddenly put everything we want there.
By Drake, 9 years ago (in response to Wartaxe):
He makes a serious freak, personally I never managed to finish it and it is not because of the screening but more of the atmosphere of the game which is oppressive and the most unpleasant for my part is part of a good start from SE TOP 10 🙂
By Kevin, 9 years ago (in response to Drake):
Personally I did them and I must admit that the atmosphere of the first is badly glaucous and I finished them
By Toshi, 9 years ago (in response to Wartaxe):
Dead Space is a very good series in itself (although the first lack of fluidity and dynamism, and an Issac Clarke as silent and taciturn that a stone only allows you to immerse yourself in the character).
But the fact that everything takes place in an environment (almost) fully metallic/industrial, gives the game a certain sterility. Nothing really scares, it is often only screams, which we generally detect, even unwittingly. The only “fear” that one could feel, is the tension that emerges from the fighting in high difficulties, mainly with the lack of ammunition. But in itself, no; Fear in itself, Dead Space cannot generate it.
By dance, 9 years ago:
Frankly outlast is not “afraid” as we can hear, it’s just that the atmosphere is so unhealthy that we are uncomfortable.
Personally I trembled, I was sweaty and I even made nightmares, I don’t laugh ! (Well after I really put myself in the mood, on purpose to play tired with a helmet alone in the dark)
So in fact yes it scares, but the real fear, not the one that simply makes us jump !
By Nygmatech, 9 years ago (in response to Dari):
Yeah you were right and it is his we are looking for in a horror games ^^
By Lixisz, 9 years ago (in response to Dari):
Besides, it seems to me that Outlast was created with the aim of showing that it is the most frightening man on this planet, and not ls zombies and other mutant creatures. ^^
By John-Locke, 9 years ago (in response to Lixxz):
The man. Personally it is something else that made me freak out if you see what I mean;)
By Hellwynn, 9 years ago:
Amnesia is really creepy, the atmosphere is excellent, but the game is too long, we end up suspecting what awaits us.
On the other hand, it is much better than Dead Space, which is predictable from start to finish !
By Jigoku, 9 years ago:
Five Nights at Freddy’s is absolutely nothing creepy .
By cons I fully agree for Project Zero II and Outlast !
And for Siren, I find the two forbidden Siren much more creepy.
By x4m, 9 years ago:
As if Silent Hill, F.E.HAS.R. or others had never existed, the author of this older know at least what he is talking about ?

By unclejacky, 9 years ago (in response to x4m):
“And since a top 10 is never enough and some have other more creepy games in mind, so remember to offer your list in the comment in order to complete the ours !””
By Pupaf, 9 years ago (in response to Unclejacky):
Yes but hey he’s not quite wrong. See titles like Zombie U and Condemned, even so good to supplant things like Fear or even one of the 4 1st Silent Hill, I don’t know . : p
By Kaishin, 9 years ago:
I’m sorry, for me it’s minecraft, the noise of the creepper behind you are 200x more scary. ^^ ‘
By Hautmaker, 9 years ago:
Five Nights at Freddy’s sincerely.
You could have put obscure that deserves the place better.
By MCBN, 8 years ago (in response to Hauntmaker):
Good . I feel a little forced to defend the saga of the FNAF (and not only because it is one of my favorite jv sagas all kind confused)
Already, yes Five Nights at Freddy’s is a horror game, in the same way as Outlast, Kraven Manor, Amensia, Project Zero or Forbidden Siren.
Horror is in itself “subjective”, I have always been told that Silent Hill 2 is most creepy, for my part even putting me in the most optimal conditions, the game did not do much, The graphic atmosphere is glaucous as desired but I did not feel much.
Conversely of FNAF, the fact is that in this series, you are completely helpless, with each new opus you are forced to apprehend new mechanics.
And this is the strength of the series, the fear of apprehension (among others), we are always stress and panic because we do not know if what we do and good, which is one of the Bases of horror: the unknown or the loss of total landmarks.
The atmosphere of the game either is not to be outdone, and even more in the 4th opus, which brings out the deepest fears of our childhood, the fear of the monster in the dark, of the monster of the cupboard.
Good by remaining honest the Jumpscares also do their job, but that’s natural in humans.
After each his opinion, as I explained at the beginning, the horror is subjective, as many subjects will be able to make cold sweats to certain people, so many others will fight the testi-boules !
This was my reaction on this subject: D
By Koska, 9 years ago:
I who follow a follower of survival-horror I do not regret having a PC in possession, as well as the PS3, just for the pleasure of being scared when a title like “Siren: Blood Curse” is only available on this console, I wonder how is it that my heart is always beating, so the effect of surprise and thrill is guaranteed, very good titles !!
By Remilia Scarlet, 9 years ago:
Personally the most creepy game in the world is League of Legends. Yesterday I made a ranked, a guy from my team said: “Kurwa Etz Plonem Polski”.
I still have nightmares
