Apple’s MacBook Air is a best-seller of the brand, a real emblem of its laptop range. And especially since 2020, date on which Apple said goodbye to Intel and began to integrate its own SOCs by starting with the M1, based on Architecture Arm. Result: increased autonomy and perfect silence, the computer simply does not need ventilation.

You will understand, the 2020 MacBook Air is an excellent machine, the ideal efficient and autonomous ultraportable – provided you accept to use MacOS. Pretty, fine, while aluminum, it weighs 1,29 kg and knows how to be forgotten in a bag. The keyboard is excellent (beware, this is the somewhat special arrangement of Apple), as well as the very large glass trackpad, which remains one of the best on the market. If the finishes are excellent, we will regret, however, a screen not quite at the level. It is a 13.3 inch LCD IPS panel with a beautiful definition, but with a calibration of colors and a level of contrasts that leave something to be desired ..

Fortunately, performance is excellent thanks to the M1 chip, accompanied by 256 GB of storage and 8 GB of RAM. The autonomy is excellent, you can count at least 10 hours, all without any heating.

The MacBook Air M1 is sold at 1199 euros per Apple. But for months, you will find it almost systematically below 1,000 euros in the vast majority of e-commerce sites, at 999, or even 950 euros. Huawei Matebook D16 (2021) an excellent value for money

Now discreet on the smartphones market in our regions, Huawei continues to offer extremely interesting laptops like this Matebook D16. As its name suggests, it has a 16.1 inch screen, but its extremely fine edges rather give it the template of a classic 15.6 inch.

As always at Huawei, there is a chassis mainly in plastic with aluminum finishes. All is MacBook’s false tunes. The keyboard touch is correct, but the latter is relatively compact and ignores the digital pavement. It is supervised by two massive speakers so the positioning surprises. It is indeed easy to confuse them with keys. The connection is complete, with 4 USB ports (including 2 USB-C) and an HDMI output. WiFi 6 and Bluetooth 5.1 Complete the wireless side table.

The screen is passable given the price, the contrast and the brightness are weak, but the colors are well adjusted. On the other hand, we appreciate less the integration of the webcam under a keyboard key. The shot shots are still not very flattering.

Under the hood, we are entitled to a Ryzen 5 4600h with six cores accompanied by 8 GB of RAM and 512 GB of SSD. Although we would have preferred a 5000 serial Ryzen, performance is solid for office and multimedia use. The integrated graphic part even allows you to play in Full HD to games like Overwatch by cutting into the details.

The autonomy reaches 9 hours and we appreciate the small size of the 65 W USB-C charger capable of refueling in 1 h 10. Last detail: if the memory is welded, the SSD is easily replaceable and a second location M.2 is even available if you want to add internal storage.
