To summarize, this Chair is the best for your spine, But we will regret a very high price. Besides, the latter has increased sharply in recent months.
What are the advantages of a gaming seat ?
The main advantage of a gaming seat is comfort. Indeed, when you spend hours behind an office to play or work, it is important to do it comfortably. If you don’t take care of your spine, back pain can literally rot your life. Here, comfort rhymes with health. So if you are used to long video game sessions or if you are a follower of telework, a gaming chair is made for you.
To finish, We will add that they have their own designs. They will integrate very well in your set-up. Having a razer seat with green finishes with other brand accessories will please people attentive to aesthetics.
⚙️ How to choose the settings for your gaming seat ?
When buying your new gaming chair, It is important to take several criteria in account. And we will also recall thatThey have a lifespan of several years, which makes its selection even more important. As said before, comfort is essential. So we will have to pay attention to certain things, Like armrests, file, seat or even the height of the seat.
On the armrest side, there are adjustable and irremovable. The armrests are the essential part when you type on the keyboard or use the mouse. We will recommend models a minimum removable. And Preferably those with 4D adjustments (length/width/depths/angles). This type of option allows you to best adapt them to your morphology. These details will fluctuate a lot according to the prices.
The possibility of adjusting The height of the seat is important. All models offer this option, but theAmplitude will depend from one chair to another. Finally, you have to take into account, the backrest and seat for your back comfort. But also padding and coating For optimal use. We will then approach these points in detail.
What is the best coating for a gaming seat ?
When we talk about a gaming seat, There are 3 different types. Each has their advantages and faults.
- The leather : True leather is more resistant to duration and generally less messy. It is a breathable material that will offer the best comfort to the user. Alas, the choices of colors are limited and it is the most expensive coating.
- The imitation leather: This is the most common coating on the Gaming Chair Market. It is both easy to clean and inexpensive to buy. It is more solid than the fabric, but will tend to crumble, unlike real leather. But this matter has the disadvantage of not being breathable. If you don’t like to sweat, this is not the coating you need.
- The fabric: The main advantage of the fabric is to be more breathable. You may less sweat with a fabric seat than with a leather or imitation model. They also have the advantage of offering wider colors choices. But this coating is also more messy and less solid than leather/imitation leather.
⚖️ How to find the model that best suits my morphology ?
As explained throughout this guide, the main interest of the gaming chair is the comfort of your back. So when making your choice, this question is essential. Everything will already depend on your size. Each model is adapted to a certain size and a certain weight.
Most manufacturers offer armchairs that support a weight of 100 kg. But in general, alone high -end models offer to support loads of 100 kg or more. Finally it will be necessary to take into account the different dimensions of the seat. Indeed, for Large people some chairs will be too small. If your head exceeds the headrest, comfort may not be there. We advise to test the product directly in store, otherwise Pay attention to the different dimensions indicated On specialized resellers sites.
Gaming seat: with or without padding ?
The padding is under the chair coatings. It will affect the comfort of your seat, but The problem is that manufacturers communicate very little on this point. Which is generally not a good sign. But in general, the seats that contain cold foam will be preferred. We find the latter in certain types of mattresses, it is light, flexible and resists humidity. It allows the armchair to keep its original shape the longest.
Finally, density is also to be taken into account. For simplicity, The higher the foam density, the more firmness will be. On this point, Each person will have their preferences.
Why buy a gaming chair rather than an office chair ?
We’re going to say it right away There are just as comfortable, even more comfortable office chairs than gaming models. But the latter still have some advantages compared to their competitors. First of all From a design point of view, this type of armchair will always be more beautiful that another fact for an office. Besides, some seats can very well be integrated into a workspace.
Then, in terms of price, For a product of the same quality, the model for gaming will generally be cheaper compared to that intended for the office. The latter, even of quality, tend to have very high prices.

Entry level
USSTEEL ULTIMET
The best gaming chair
Secretlab Titan Evo 2022

Ergonomic chair
Steelcase Gesture

The best Gamer 2023 armchairs
USSTEEL ULTIMET
The best cheap gaming chair
Regularly displayed below the 180 € mark, the USSTEEL ULTIMET is an affordable gaming chair for players who have a limited budget.
At this price, no need to expect miracles, both in terms of comfort and ergonomic adjustments but players looking for a model with a “racing” look without necessarily breaking the bank will probably find their happiness. It is available to choose from a fabric or imitation leather coating and several colors are available in order to adapt to your preferences but also to the rest of your setup.
On the finish side, the ultimate has a relatively basic design and the different plastics used do not necessarily inspire a huge feeling of confidence. We remain on a model positioned at the entry level and it is felt fairly quickly. Note in particular the use of a plastic foot or even armrests presenting a lot of play. The different plastic covers, whether at the cytrical level or on the sides of the file also make a little cheap, But it is not really a surprise on a proposed model we remind you of less than 200 €.
On the adjustment side, it is possible to tilt the file to 180 °, but the fixed seat. There are also 2D armrests, only offering a height adjustment and a pivot on 30 °. It is not possible here to settle their spacing or to advance them or back down.
Regarding comfort, the chair is announced for a maximum weight of 120 kg and is accompanied by a class 3 cylinder. On the chair, we are rather at ease and the space available at the seat and the file should be able to suffice for the majority of players. The padding is not exceptional but ensure correct comfort even if we obviously remain a notch below the best models in the sector.
Finally, note that the whole is accompanied by 2 fairly basic cushions, with a first to come and place behind the head and a second that can provide additional support to the lumbar. Unfortunately, the latter are as often quite thick and struggle to truly convince.
Ikea Markus
The reference of office chairs at less than 200 €
If you prefer to go to an armchair with a little more traditional look, the Ikea Markus There remains a safe bet around 200-250 €. Proposed by the Swedish giant for many years, it has been able to establish itself as a real reference in the sector and still displays one of the best quality/price relationships today if you are looking for a comfortable and sustainable chair.
Despite its relatively affordable price, the chair has several interesting points to seduce players spending hours behind their screen. We find in particular a file in mesh ensuring a good compromise between comfort and breathability, effectively limiting the feeling of heat during the summer.
In the lower part, a support is directly integrated to provide additional maintenance at the level of the lumbar but its position is unfortunately not adjustable. On the upper part, additional padding allows its side to bring good comfort when you let your head rest.
Among the other key points, we can note a comfortable seat with fabric coating or even a tilting and lockable folder on several notches in order to alternate between “focus” or relaxed position. Note on the other hand that unlike most chairs called “gaming”, the armrests are fixed and cannot be adjusted. If you don’t have the use, they can be easily removed.
Corsair TC100 Relaxed
An XL format armchair for all templates
Another interesting model around 220 €, the Corsair TC100 Relaxed Rather positioned at the entry level from the brand.
Faced with the Oversteel model listed a little higher, it stands out with extended dimensions making it more suitable for the most imposing players or those simply wishing to enjoy a little more space at the seat and file. If you are used to crossing your legs on your chair, this is clearly a good candidate.
The finishes are also a little more convincing on this corsair model, with materials that inspire a better feeling of confidence even if we stay on a design using a lot of plastic. In terms of coating, it is offered to choose from with imitation leather or fabric according to your preferences, only in dark tones.
The file of the chair can be adjusted between 90 ° and 160 ° and we stay here on 2D armrests with height settings and possibility of more or less bring them together. There is also a cushion for the head to come and so strap on the upper part (without memory foam) as well as a second which will come to complain at the backrest to provide additional support on the lower back. Again, we stay on fairly basic models in the face of those delivered with gaming chairs more premium.
Corsair T3 Rush
A good gaming chair for around 300 €
Positioned a notch above the TC100 relaxed listed above, the Corsair T3 Rush is a mid -range gaming chair appearing around 330 €.
Faced with his cousin, he presents a slightly narrower design, for players who prefer to feel more sustained on the sides of the file and the seat. The design is closer to that of a car seat, with a rather appreciated “bucket” design in the sector.
Faced with TC100 Relaxed, the T3 Rush also benefits from finishes a higher notch. This is felt in particular at the level of the armrests which pass here on 4D models offering more possibility to adjust their position. The cushion dedicated to the lumbar is also of better quality, with memory foams providing very convincing support.
For the rest, the adjustments remain quite simple with height adjustment over 10 cm or inclination of the backrest up to 160 °. It is not possible to adjust the switch to the seat and the headrest always brings down on the upper part of the chair.
In use, comfort is correct with foams offering a good compromise between flexibility and firmness. The fabric coating is also pleasant to the touch, with several colors available.
RAZER ISKUR X
Comfortable and durable gaming seat
Displayed around € 350, the Razer Iskur X is the brand’s most affordable gaming chair. It is actually a “lightened” version of the ISKUR, which we find rather at the top of the range in the € 500.
On this “X” version, the brand ignores certain more advanced options available on the original version and in particular the adjustable lumbar support system which made its particularity on the sector. The armrests go back to a more basic version, with 2D models limiting a height adjustment and a rotation.
The inclination mechanism is also simplified on this version, with a classic system offering only a switch to the backrest. For the rest, there is always a file naturally marrying the curvature of the back or even a seat which is accompanied by well -controlled padding.
Once installed, the comfort is there and the chair benefits from better finishes than the models listed above, in particular thanks to the use of a metal base and not in nylon as on many models unless 300 €. It is recommended for users measuring between 170 and 190 cm, for a weight of up to 136 kg.
Corsair TC200
Corsair’s best gaming chair
Most advanced model of the brand, the Corsair TC200 offers a look fairly close to that of the TC100 relaxed listed above but displays much better finishes. Currently available around € 390, we are still on the mid -range and Corsair headquarters will not compete with the best models from Noblchairs or Secretlab.
With its extended seat and imposing file, the TC200 can however find its audience, especially on the side of the players enjoying having space in their chair. The model indeed imposing and its dimensions revised upwards will be able to tip the scale for the most imposing players.
Faced with TC100 Relaxed, the TC200 also benefits from a more careful design. The base of the chair is now made of steel while the armrests take advantage of 4D movements for a more precise adjustment. We also find a lumbar support directly integrated into the lower part of the backrest, so as to provide better support when spending hours playing and/or working. However, it is not possible to adjust your position or depth as on the secretlab model that you are presented a little lower.
Let’s finish by emphasizing the presence of a completely revised and much more comfortable head cushion or the choice between a fabric coating or imitation leather according to your preferences.

Noblechairs epic tx compact
A gaming chair designed for the youngest
If the Corsair TC200 stands out for its XL dimensions, the chair Noblechairs epic tx compact put in its side on its reduced dimensions to seduce the youngest players. This “miniature” version is indeed thought of for users measuring between 125 and 170 cm, for a maximum weight of 120 kg.
A still rare design on the sector, or only on models really positioned at the entry level and not necessarily inspired confidence. Here, it is a specialist in the sector who tries this bet and the result is rather convincing.
If the model is not as complete as what a “traditional” Epic Epic offers, we still find the brand’s know-how with good finishes in terms of coatings (fabric or similar) and some interesting adjustments. It is notably possible to adjust the depth of the seat depending on the length of your legs and the whole is accompanied by 3D armrests. Another interesting point, the seat and the backrest benefit from a synchronous rocking, although limited to 112 °.
We will also note the presence of an aluminum foot still as solid as well as the addition of a pair of cushions for the head and the lumbar, even if we regret the absence of memory foam despite its Current price of around 420 €.
Noblechairs hero
A premium gaming seat with impeccable finishes
For around € 450, we get closer to what is best in the category of “gaming armchairs” with the famous Noblechairs hero. The widest model of the manufacturer, it is designed to adapt to most morphologies and is accompanied by excellent finishes.
The model is offered in many colors and can be accompanied by different coatings, from fabric to imitation leather through real leather. Many special editions in the colors of certain popular licenses are also available.
Designed in Germany, the noblechair chair takes advantage of excellent finishes and inspires a very good feeling of confidence once installed on it. The imposing dimensions of the chair provide lasting comfort and the different ergonomic settings allow it to be adapted according to its size. We appreciate in particular the synchronized tilt mechanism (seat/back), 4D armrests or the presence of a lumbar support integrated with depth adjustment.
The chair is recommended for users measuring between 150 and 200 cm and a weight of up to 150 kg.

Secretlab Titan Evo
The best gamer chair is still improving !

Evolution of Omega and Titan 2022 models, the chair Secretlab Titan Evo 2022 comes to place the bar still a notch higher and definitively pushes the competition. If you are looking for a “gamer” model, there is no more complete and comfortable in the sector.
For this new generation, the brand simplifies its range with now a single model declined in three sles S, Regular and XL. All benefit from the same design quality and the same options, with in particular the addition of an integrated lumbar support which can now be adjusted in depth but also in height. A first in the sector !
Besides that, we always find finishes of excellent qualities, with solid materials and many choices in terms of coverings or colors. Among the other improvements, we note the presence of magnetic and replaceable armrests, reworked and even more comfortable mosses on the side of the seat or small details facilitating the mounting of the chair.
Another interesting novelty, the transition to a headrest cushion with magnetic fixing. Much more practical on the usual straps and memory foam is still as comfortable.
In short, clearly our current crush and the best choice in our opinion. There remains the question of the price because at almost € 520 in Regular size, this Titan Evo 2022 version is unfortunately not given.

Steelcase Gesture
The most versatile ergonomic chair
For players looking for a high -end ergonomic chair, the Steelcase Gesture poster of serious arguments if you have a substantial budget. Indeed, with a price of around € 1,200 we clearly go into another category.
A real specialist in ergonomic seats, the brand has been offering models renowned for their comfort and durability for many years. The gesture chair stands out on several points, first with a particularly worked look and exemplary finishes. From the first contacts, we feel confident alongside the chair and after more than a year by his side, our model is like on the first day.
Once installed on the Steelcase Gesture, difficult to get out of it. Between its very comfortable seat and its backrest marrying the shape of the back while adapting to its movements, it is pure happiness. Special mention for armrests that can be adjusted in all positions imaginable in order to adapt to all situations, whether to type on a keyboard, read a book, watch a film on a tablet or answer an e -Mail from her smartphone.
Herman Miller X Logitech Embody
The best ergonomic chair for players

For just over 1500 €, the chair Herman Miller X Logitech Embody has imposed itself for several years as the reference of the sector. The model takes up the basics of the famous Embody and takes advantage of very slight modifications, with in particular a slightly more breathable coating.
For the rest, we find all the points that have forged the success of this model over the years, until making it one of the most popular ergonomic seats in the sector.
The big highlight of this Embody model is located on the side of its file, with an ergonomic design allowing it to marry and follow the movements of your body. The result is rather impressive and brings in practice an excellent compromise between comfort and maintenance.
Among the other highlights of this model, we can list a system allowing to manage the camber from the back, the possibility of adjusting the depth of the seat or the spacing of the armrests. The whole takes advantage of impeccable finishes, with aluminum foot, nylon rollers of 63.5 mm or a particularly robust fabric coating.
How to choose a gamer chair ?
You have surely noticed it, the chairs and armchairs market for players is in full boom. Dozens of brands share this particularly juicy sector, and it is very difficult to find your way among the hundreds of references available.
Between the entry -level models displayed below the € 100 mark, and the most complete products smelling with the € 500, how to find the model you need ?
Certain criteria can quickly increase the bill with a gaming seat, and it is essential to clearly identify these different points. Also keep in mind that many manufacturers try to surf this wave of Racing armchairs, and offer models more on their visual aspect rather than their real comfort. Mistrust !
Ergonomics and settings
Ergonomics plays a main role in choosing a gamer chair. The idea is to opt for an armchair offering a maximum of settings, so as to adjust it to your morphology, and not the opposite.
You risk spending thousands of hours sitting in your chair, so as much as it is perfectly suited to your needs.
Size and dimensions
Before throwing yourself on the first gamer chair, it is important to check whether the dimensions of it are really adapted to your template. We obviously think of the height of the chair, but also of the size of the seat and the backrest.
Many armchairs manufacturers offer different ranges to cover the different needs of players. We thus find models adapted to average templates, others more compact for adolescents for example or wider models, for the strongest players.
As a rule, when several armchairs are available, all dimensions are specified on manufacturers’ sites. Remember to check the latter, which are often accompanied by recommendations according to your size and weight.
We also recommend that you consult some presentation videos, so as to get a better idea of the dimensions in use. In our videos, your reviewer Favorite measures 1m78 for around 68kg.
Ergonomic adjustments
One of the peculiarities of gamer armchairs lies in their many ergonomic adjustments. Unlike a traditional chair, most models make it possible to adapt the seat according to everyone’s preferences but also situations.
We will be able to opt for a further seat when you want to concentrate during a decisive match on CS: Go or Valorant, or rather orient yourself towards a more relaxed position, lengthening the file by savoring a series on Netflix.
File inclination
At least, gaming armchairs have a system to tilt the file. On most models, we will find a dial to lock the position on different positions, generally between 90 ° and 180 °.
Here, check if several notches are available and not only in a vertical or horizontal position. The models that can bow up to 180 ° are not always the most comfortable and may tend to switch to the back if you place a little too much weight on it.
Tilting
The most advanced models also offer a system to manage the inclination of the file. In this configuration, we clearly gain in comfort with a chair that changes much more naturally.
On this point, not all models are equal. The least efficient models offer only a few degrees of inclination while the best armchairs have a front tilt system forward, so as to gain in amplitude.
In addition to the inclination itself, it will be necessary to check the locking options proposed by the chair. Some models do not allow the inclination of the seat to be fixed while others have several notches so as to keep its favorite adjustment.
Also remember to check the presence of a resistance wheel for the inclination of the seat. It will allow you to choose between a more or less flexible tilt depending on your preferences but especially your weight.
Armrests
Gamer armchairs also stand out for their somewhat special armrests. Depending on the models, they offer more or less adjustments so that they can best adapt to your position and that of your office.
We generally speak of 1D, 2D, 3D or 4D armrests. But what all of this really corresponds to ?
- 1D armrests: adjustable height
- 2D armrests: adjustable in height and a second direction (in depth, laterally or in pivot)
- 3D armrests: height adjustable and two additional directions
- 4D armrests: adjustable in height, depth and laterally. Also possibility of pivoting a few degrees to better adapt your position to the keyboard.
Comfort
If comfort often goes hand in hand with ergonomics, two models with equivalent adjustments will not necessarily offer similar comfort.
At the entry level, the manufacturers do not hesitate to make concessions on the construction of the seat or the file, making their armchairs much less comfortable after a few weeks of.
Among the points to be verified, the first concerns the density of the seating and file mosses. Here, it’s a bit like with the mattresses and it is expressed in kg/m3. As a rule, the higher the density, the better the quality of the chair.
We will advise to move towards models offering at least 50 kg/m3. Also promote cold hardened foams, designed in a single block and often of much better quality than the assemblies of several layers.
If possible, also try to check the design of your seat, which can for example integrate a wooden board (not necessarily ideal), or a suspension system with elastic straps (much better).
Still regarding the comfort of a gamer chair, we can notably cite the design of the file itself. Most models opt for a “full” construction, with foam padding and leather or imitation coating, while others are more oriented towards a mesh folder. Much more ventilated, they bring excellent comfort and limits the feeling of heat during long gaming sessions (Neuechair / Ikea Markus).
Solidity and quality of construction
Gaming chairs are clearly not given, and it will be necessary to pay particular attention to the materials used. Plastic, leather, imitation leather, Sweden, mesh … not all armchairs are created equal !
Depending on the models and use, the coatings can quickly deteriorate, the mosses sag or the plastics to break. Again, watch out for the first prices, which bet everything on style rather than robustness.
In practice, we will recommend investing a little more and ensuring good longevity in your gaming chair. Do not hesitate to consult the feedback from different users, especially after a few months of use.
The structure
The structure of a gamer armchair is generally designed in metal and it is unfortunately difficult to get a real idea of the finishes without cutting your chair in two.
Do not hesitate to consult the different sites of the manufacturers, which often offer images of the frame of their chairs as well as indications concerning the presence or not of a stainless coating.
To ensure good sustainability in your chair, promote the models with fairly dense structure, with maintenance bars in the file and the seat.
The foot and the casters
The vast majority of armchairs are accompanied by a star foot, where we will set 5 casters during the assembly.
On the models positioned at the top of the range, there are more and more often metal feet, offering much better solidity than their plastic counterparts. This is an important point to check in our opinion.
Casters are also a differentiation point between the different gaming ranges. At the entry level, there are often fairly basic casters, with a compact format and a plastic coating.
When you go upmarket, you usually go on casters 6 cm in diameter with nylon coating. They provide better stability while protecting your soil from scratches.
The cylinder
The majority of armchairs use an identical class 4 cylinder. They are used to adjust the height of the seat and all offer similar performance. In most cases, they are accompanied by a plastic cover.
Finishes
In addition to the three points listed above, we will also have to be attentive to the general finishes of the chair. Check the quality of the screws.
Gaming armchairs coating
To stand out from the competition and offer ever more personalization options to players, the manufacturers offer different coatings to support their armchairs.
PU leather armchairs or imitation leather
PU leather is one of the most present coverings in the gaming chairs sector. It is a synthetic leather, designed with leather crust and a layer of polyurethane designed to best imitate the rendering of the original material.
Much cheaper to produce than real leather, it also has the advantage of being able to be offered in many colors so as to offer seats with various themes and adapt perfectly to the players of players of players.
We find a little all the qualities and we will clearly feel the difference between the leathers could use on models No-Name and those of armchairs from noblechairs or secretlab for example.
Fabric gamer armchairs
Some models can be offered with a fabric coating. There, the quality may vary from one brand to another and we advise you to test for yourself or at least checking some reviews in video to give you a better idea of the rendering.
Among the brands offering fabric gamer armchairs, we think of Quersus, Nitro Concept or Secretlab and the excellent coating Softweave.
Leather gamer armchairs
If you have a more substantial budget, some brands decline their armchairs with a real leather coating. We obviously gain in comfort and sustainability, but prices quickly tend to fly away and can exceed 600/700 E for models premium Chez Noblechairs or Secretlab.
The cushions
Gaming chairs are often accompanied by one or two removable cushions. Here and as on the previous points, the quality varies greatly from one model to another.
The headrest cushion accompanies almost all current models. He comes to place himself on the top of the seat thanks to an elastic band and provides additional support behind the head.
The lumbar cushion also accompanies many models. It is placed on the lower part of the seat and allows in theory to improve its posture and the maintenance at the level of the back. It can be fixed via a strap system or directly placed on the chair.
The big problem of these cushions is that they are in too many cases ill -suited to the armchairs and the real needs of the players. The headrest cushions lack flexibility and are difficult to adjust perfectly, while the models designed for lumbar are often too large and uncomfortable.
Result ? Most players choose not to use them.
Some brands are still in the game, notably by offering memory cushion kits. Secretlab in default with its chairs while brands like noblechairs or nitro concept offer them as an option.
Much better designed, these memory models more easily adapt to different morphologies and offer much better comfort than traditional models.
Other armchairs choose to integrate a system for maintaining lumbar directly integrated into the backrest. This is particularly the case for the noblechairs Hero, the Secretlab Titan or even the seats of Quersus.
In this configuration, a dial on the side of the chair more or less inflates the lower part of the seat and provides more or less sustained maintenance. A solution that is both practical and convincing to use.
Style
Here, it is above all a matter of taste. As explained in the introduction, most brands are inspired by the buckets formerly reserved for car sports. They ensure good leg and back support during gaming, but will not necessarily be to tastes of all level look.
Most of the references are offered in many colors, and some brands even offer to personalize your gaming chair The text or image of your choice. Many models also take up the colors of the largest e-sport teams.
If you are looking for a slightly more discreet armchair, most of the time there is an entirely black color that can easily be integrated into any setup gaming.
If you are not necessarily inspired by Racing type gaming seats, you will often have to move from the gaming world. We find very good armchairs at Ikea (notably the Markus), but also in big names like Herman Miller or Steelcase.
What a price for a gamer chair ?
Last point to take into account, your budget. From € 50 to almost € 1000, there are gaming armchairs at all prices. At the entrance, it is sometimes more judicious to move towards models not necessarily surfing on the gaming wave, often more expensive.
If you are looking for a Racing type gamer chair, count at least € 150 for a product that is both ergonomic, comfortable and robust. The models from DXRACER, VERTAGEAR or MAXNOMIC start on their side around 250 €.
