Great Phone Many Hidden Features But Poor Zoom

This is a great phone. The Performance is Untouched, the Camera can take utterly amazing pictures! I’ve Taken Many Amazing Pictures. The Zoom Range is only X5, and it gets Pretty Grainy, but 0.5 is cool. The portrait modes are very nice and it can make your background White or Black More Quickly then It Does on the iPhone 12 and 12 Pro Series. There are also so many hidden features (Especially With Maps and Find My), Including A Weather Map of Temperature, Rain and More, Along with It Warning Me If I Left My Ipad Behind and Suggesting Routes Based on my recent patterns. Live text is also amazing! 256GB is Planty of Storage and I WOULD TOTALLY SUBSONE THIS DEVICE!

iPhone 14 vs iPhone 13: The latest iPhone is worth 110 € more ?

If you like to take videos and photos with your iPhone then the iPhone 14 is the model you need, if not, the iPhone 13 will be enough, and you save a hundred euros.

At a time when expenses are looked at as close as possible, an interesting dilemma arises for those who plan to upgrade their old iPhone. Instead of buying the iPhone 14, you can save 110 € and buy an iPhone which, although having a year of age, has the same look, a very similar processor and shares many functions with the new generation. However, there are still significant disparities that justify this price difference.

Photo sensors

We are not used to going directly to cameras in our comparisons, but it is by far the biggest difference between the iPhone 14 and the iPhone 13. The 14 has two photo sensors on the back, as is the iPhone 13, but the new model includes a faster opening (ƒ/1.5 instead of ƒ/1.6) and a larger sensor to bring best overall performance and improvements in low light shots.

The iPhone 14 also benefits from a new Photonic Engine calculation system which allows more details to be captured in difficult light conditions and improving functions such as vagueness in the first-plans in portrait mode. Corrections made to low -light photography not only mean that the photos are better, but also that you do not need to hold the iPhone as long.

There is also an action mode for video shots, it is used to perfect stabilization when taking a motion video. This is a function that will make the difference for almost everyone, while the previous video functions, such as the kinematic mode, arrived with the iPhone 13, made White Chou.

It’s not just cameras on the back of the iPhone 14 which are better than those of the iPhone 13. The selfie sensor, that is to say the TrueDepth camera, was also known. This sensor benefits from an autofocus and a wider opening, which will boost low light performance.

Design

Another disparity between the two phones is the color finish that you can choose. The colors of the iPhone 13 tend to be darker than those of the iPhone 14. Safety characteristics

A15 processor

We started this article by noting that the iPhone 13 and the iPhone 14 share the A15 chip. However, this is not exactly the same.

The iPhone 14 A15 is more like that of 13 pro thanks to its additional GPU heart, but according to our tests, the iPhone 14 chip is above. It seems likely that the iPhone 14 chip A15 benefits from internal changes that Apple says it has made to facilitate the dispersion of heat. Even if the 14 was identical to 13, these internal changes could still have given rise to better results to performance tests. The latter demonstrate that the latest generation offers decent speed gains compared to the previous one.

If you play or use other applications with high graphic intensity, the additional GPU heart may have importance for you, but for the average user, it may make no difference.

There is another area in which the iPhone 14 surpasses its predecessor, it is autonomy. Apple claims that the iPhone 14 can offer up to 20 hours of video reading, against 19 hours for the iPhone 13. We carried out the Geekbench 4 battery tests, a little more demanding, and we had a similar conclusion. We obtained 8:57 am for the iPhone 14, against 8:11 am for the 13th.

An hour of additional autonomy may seem little, but if your home-work trip lasts an hour, it can make the difference. Twenty hours is not a realistic indication of autonomy because it all depends on the use you make of your iPhone. The most important thing is probably the duration during which you will have to connect your iPhone to get enough energy to hold a day of work, and this applies to both iPhone. They get up to 50 % load in 30 minutes with a 20W adapter.

Storage

The other point of comparison between the two iPhones which must be taken into account is the storage capacity. Although the two phones start at 128 GB of storage, the price remains a problem. On the one hand, we have the iPhone 14 at € 1,019 with 128 GB of storage, on the other one iPhone 13 with 256 GB of storage, for € 1,029. There are many for whom additional storage will prevail over the additional functions offered by the iPhone 14.

But how many storage space do you really need ? You may not need as much storage space as you think thanks to services such as Icloud and Apple Music. However, according to our experience, if the storage space of your new iPhone is lower than that of your old one then you will face difficulties when transferring data between the two devices.

Their similarities

Although the differences between the two iPhones are quite important, they have a lot in common. In fact, these two iPhones are so similar that it is difficult to distinguish them.

The two have a Super Retina XDR screen 6.1 inch with a resolution of 2,532 x 1,170 pixels at 460 ppi, a contrast ratio of 2,000,000: 1, a maximum brightness of 800 nits and 1 200 Nits (HDR). They also have an identical notch, smaller than that of the iPhone 12. If you want less notch, you must turn to the iPhone 14 Pro with its new Dynamic Island area.

As we have already explained, there are new camera functions on the iPhone 14, but many are identical on the two iPhone, so choosing the iPhone 13 will not mean sacrificing your features, such as portrait mode, Its lighting effects, photographic styles, kinematic mode and HDR video recording with Dolby Vision in 4K at 60 I/S.

If you are clumsy, none of these phones are more durable than the other. They are both resistant to water to a depth of 6 meters for 30 minutes. They both have a Ceramic Shield facade. However, their glass back (necessary for Magsafe loading), if you drop your iPhone without a case, can easily break. We therefore recommend that you protect your iOS from a case.

Which model to choose, that of 2022 or 2021 ?

Never have two generations of iPhone was so similar. Even when Apple launched an S version of the iPhone every two years, there was a processor difference, but with the iPhone 14, Apple dug the gap between the iPhone Pro and the standard iPhone. Next year, we could again attend a generation jump in processor between the iPhone 14 and its successor, which will surely receive the A16.

But should we focus on the processor ? When you consider a new iPhone, processor capacities can be considered less than the duration of the management of this processor by Apple. We can assume that the iPhone 13 and 14 will both lose compatibility with iOS at the same time, but not before many years.

The big break between the two iPhone is improving the capabilities of the iPhone 14 camera, which includes a better (faster) photograph in low light and action mode. The latter is undoubtedly the most striking characteristic and that many are likely to use, unlike the kinematic mode, arrived with the iPhone 13. In our opinion, Action mode is the only reason to go to the iPhone 14. If you don’t take a lot of videos or if you don’t care about the action mode, you can safely stick to the iPhone 13 and save a few euros.
