Why you have (again) update Google Chrome as soon as possible

Google has identified a browser security flaw. Chrome users are therefore strongly encouraged to update the software quickly to protect themselves.

It’s the third time this year. Google has once again discovered a Zero Day flaw within its Chrome browser. This means that a safety breach never spotted since the launch of the software has been identified. The company has already corrected its tool thanks to an update that users must perform as quickly as possible, points out the specialized site 01net.

As in April, where two security breaks were updated in a blow, the discovery was made by Clément Lecigne. The engineer is part of the Google threat analysis group.

Check the version of Chrome version

The new security flaw seems similar to one of the previous ones. There is still talk of confusion within the JavaScript V8 engine. Again, computer hackers can take advantage of this breach to inject malicious code by manipulating the memory of a JavaScript program. Always with the result of compromising data, taking control of a computer remotely or running malware.

Although updates are most often automatic, it is possible to ensure that your chrome browser is well protected. To do this, you have to go to the software settings by clicking on the three points at the top right of the window.

By going to the “About Chrome” tab, you will then discover the current version of your software. The number of the version corrected by Google is 114.0.5735.110 on Windows and Linux. For Macs, this is version 114.0.5735.106.

Dev advantage: be able to access shortcuts at the bottom of the page. It is true that our fingers are at the bottom of the smartphone. Super practice to be able to access the menus. For the next dev: add one of the features of the beta. Being able to access the shortcuts of tabs at the bottom of the page, by clicking on the tab symbol for example. And be able to navigate between tabs, or close one, from the bottom of the page.
