Additional warranty limitations

International guarantee policy and limitations

Western Digital (“WD”) appreciates your confidence and always tries to provide you with the best possible service.

No limited warranty is provided by WD unless your WD (“product”) product has been purchased from an authorized distributor or a licensed reseller. Distributors can sell products to resellers who then sell products to end users. See below for warranty information or for services. No guarantee service is provided unless the product has returned to an approved return center in the region (the warranty regions are identified as: Canada, United States, Latin America, Europe, Middle East , Africa, Asia-Pacific, India and Thailand) where the product was dispatched first by WD, which can have specific regional implications for the warranty.

If your product has been purchased as a component integrated into a system by a system manufacturer, no limited warranty is provided by WD. Please contact the place of purchase or system manufacturer directly for the warranty service.

Equipment return authorization (RMA)

No product can be returned directly to WD without having previously contacted WD to obtain an authorization number of equipment (“RMA”). If it is determined that the product can be defective, you are communicated to you a RMA number and the instructions to return the product. A return without authorization, that is to say without RMA number, is returned to you at your expense. Authorized returns must be made in approved, prepaid and insured shipping packaging, to the address provided on RMA documents. Your original cardboard and packaging must be kept for storage or shipping of your product. If, in the inspection of your returned product, WD suspected fraud or considers that it is a counterfeit, WD can, at its sole discretion, confiscate said product or take all necessary measures. Guarantee limitations

The limited WD warranty stipulates that, subject to the following limitations, each product is devoid of any lack of material and any manufacturing defect and that it complies with WD specifications for the particular product.

Appeal limitation

Your exclusive recourse for any defective product is limited to repair or replacement of the defective product.

WD can choose the appeal or combination of recourse to assume at its sole discretion. WD must have a reasonable delay after determining the existence of a defective product to repair or replace a defective product. The WD replacement product as part of its limited warranty is made from new parts and used parts to operate. The WD warranty applies to repaired or replaced products during the balance of the applicable period of the original guarantee or ninety days from the date of shipment of a repaired or replaced product, taking The longest interval.

Limitation of damages

WD’s responsibility of responsibility for a defective product should in no case do the purchase price of the defective product. Your product use

WD assumes no responsibility for any returned product if WD determines that:

• The product was stolen from WD.
• The supposed defect:
  • is not present,
  • cannot be reasonably corrected due to deterioration which occurred when the product is in possession of someone other than WD, or
  • is attributable to an abuse of use, an inadequate installation, an alteration (including the removal or obliteration of labels and the opening or removal of external covers (unless this has been authorized by Western Digital or An approved maintenance center)), an accident or poor manipulation when the disc is in possession of someone other than WD.

  Additional warranty limitations

  The Western Digital warranty does not cover products that have been incorrectly received, altered or physically damaged. Products will be inspected upon receipt. Here are some examples of products that Western Digital will not accept as a warranty

  • Counterfeit label (s)
  • Cavaliers sons added by the customer
  • PCBA/incorrect HDA pair
  • The labels have been replaced:
    1. Real digital western label on a disc that is not digital western
    2. Real digital western label on a Digital Western disc of different capacity
  • The labels reveal illicit manipulation
  • On the label, it lacks a standard printing like UL or the ability
  • Absence of barcode or upper cover label
  • No adhesive seal € “(unauthorized data recovery sticker)
  • The serial number on the upper cover does not correspond to the barcode at the end
  • Digital western labels or snifling filter holes are obscured by stickers affixed by the customer

  • Damage, crack, lack or connector break (s)

  • Indentation on the basic molding
  • The adhesive tape to seal is torn or perforated

  • Threads torn off from mounting holes

  If an alphabetical character appears after the product date code (for example, 05 APR 99 x), the product has been rectified and may not be submitted under WT warranty which only applies to products sold new.

  Guarantee policy

  The distribution kits assembled by Western Digital under its brand, as well as the internal discs marketed as “component disks” (internal hard drives sold by WD but not part of a distribution kit assembled by Western Digital under its brand ), have a limited warranty. Please note that an SSD product can be used under conditions that cause the support of the support (and the expiration of the warranty) before the expiration of the time indicated in the warranty period, as stipulated in the applicable endurance specification.
