Ruling and performance

ID.Buzz is very pleasant to drive, of course, in the first place for silence due to electric motorization and excellent soundproofing. We are immediately immersed in a Zen atmosphere. The comfort of the seats and the 9 speakers of the infotainment pack makes you want to go always further by savoring your favorite music. Refills:

To recharge the ID.Buzz you will find load terminals

  • fast (> 150kw dc) or
  • Standards in 22kW AC.

On a fast charging terminal, the full charging time is 1/2 hour against several hours for a standard load.
Also the cost is different, ranging from 20 cents to 80 cents approximately kW.
For comparison, a thermal car consuming 7L/100km, will cost around 14 €/100km and
a buzz electric consuming 20kw/100km will cost on average 8 €/100km.
The on -board Volkswagen’s on -board application allows you to plan your journey, indicates the load stations and their price.
This is why it is appropriate to devote some time to forecasting your trip, or even using third -style https: // fr applications.ChargeMap.com who will tell you where to find the best prices.
Moreover, it must be considered that the charging time is also an important new data to take into account in the choice of the charges. It is a compromise in charge and charging cost.

Payment of charges

The regulation on load stations is generally done with operator cards, and it is not guaranteed that your CB card is accepted (you will probably have to install an application on your smartphone and connect your payment method).
To simplify the load operations, your buzz is provided with chargemap operator cards which, if necessary, will allow you in all circumstances to make your full. Likewise we are equipped to the Campy Private Bornes 22 kW agency accessible 24/24 using a badge supplied with the van. The charges debited on our account by these cards will be reassigned to you when you return.

Volkswagen unveils the new ID electric van. Buzz, with more autonomy and its “magic” panoramic roof

Volkswagen presents the long -wheelbase version of its electric van ID. Buzz which, for the occasion, incorporates some interesting new features, starting with a new 91 kWh battery allowing increases on the rise, especially for large travelers.

After the five -seater version of the ID. Buzz, Volkswagen presents The long wheelbase model with seven places of its Volkswagen ID. Buzz. This model is not just that an extended version of the electric van that we already know, since it incorporates elements recently presented on the new Volkswagen ID.7.

Volkswagen-Iid.-Buzz-Lwb-2023-Frandroid-2023

As you can see, aesthetically, there is logically no change between this LWB version (Long wheelbase) long wheelbase and short wheelbase model. Everything is a question of length and habitability.

The Volkswagen ID. Buzz LWB measures 25 centimeters more than the five -seater version, these centimeters being won mainly at the wheelbase level. The robbery diameter increases slightly and goes from 11.1 to 11.8 meters.

With five, six or seven places

The Volkswagen ID. Buzz LWB will be available in Europe In version five, six and seven places. It benefits from more space on board, a larger volume of trunk and wider sliding doors.

The three -seater bench in the second row can slide on 20 centimeters, as are the two seats in the third row, which can also be removed to benefit from a larger trunk.

When the vehicle is in five -seater configuration, the volume of the trunk peaks at 1,340 liters (1,121 liters in the classic short version). If all the seats are folded down, the loading capacity passes to 2,469 liters. On the other hand, and as often with the seven -seater models, when all the seats are occupied, the capacity of the trunk falls to 306 liters.

The other novelty is the integration of a huge panoramic roof of 1.5 m 2, the largest in the Volkswagen range. He joined the group’s new technologies in the matter, with thousands of liquid crystals contained in a film.

The principle is generally quite simple: it is possible to opacify or make the panoramic roof transparent into a fraction of a second. All explanations are to be found in our explanatory file.

To end the interior, let’s briefly mention the dashboard, which is a copy and paste of the version we already know with a 5.3-inch instrumentation and a 12.9-inch touch screen. Note, however, the arrival of a head -up display and the Ida vocal command, borrowed from the ID.7. Another novelty: it is now possible to open the rear windows.

The underside of a Volkswagen ID.7

The Volkswagen ID. Buzz LWB receives the new battery from 91 kWh (85 kWh nets) inaugurated on the ID.7, supported by a motorization of 286 hp and 560 Nm. In terms of performance, Volkswagen announces a 0 to 100 km/h shot in the space of 7.9 seconds and a maximum speed limited electronically to 160 km/h.

A second battery, 77 kWh, which we already know about the classic version of the ID. Buzz, is also there, but still with the 286 hp engine against 204 hp for the short version already marketed.

Next year, Volkswagen will present the GTX version, with two electric motors, a battery of 91 kWh and 340 hp, like the new Cupra Tavascan, with a 0 to 100 km/h made in 6.4 seconds according to the German manufacturer.

Autonomy and recharge

The 91 kWh battery benefits of a maximum load power of 200 kW, Against 170 kW for the 77 kWh battery. With this power, the battery recharges from 10 to 80 % in 25 minutes.

If you have not seen any figures relating to the autonomy of the different versions of the ID. Buzz LWB, that’s normal, since Volkswagen has not yet communicated them. We expect around 400 km for the version with the 77 kWh battery and between 450 and 500 km for that of 91 kWh.

Like the ID.7, the ID. Buzz LWB has a battery pre-unit which starts automatically when you enter a quick charging station in your navigation system. The car is also provided with a heat pump.

Price and availability

The Volkswagen ID. Buzz LWB will be made in Hanover, like the rest of the range, and deliveries will start in 2024. No information has yet been given on prices. For information, the Volkswagen ID. Classic buzz begins in France from 59,450 euros in pro version with the 77 kWh battery given for 416 km of autonomy according to the WLTP cycle.
