Configure voicemail on the iPhone

Noticed: The first time you have access to your voicemail, you will be invited to select a new PIN code during the initial configuration of it.

Voice Messaging

One of the advantages of having your own extension is that it has personalized voicemail. You can save your own home message and check your messages in different ways.

  1. Access to your voicemail
    1. From your VoIP Office Ooma phone
    2. Another Ooma Office phone or an external telephone line
    3. Compose a number via the virtual receptionist
    4. Listening via email
    1. Save or update a personal reception message
    2. Save or update your name
    3. Modify your PIN code

    Access to your voicemail

    If you have an extension linked to your phone, you have access to voicemail that you can consult and update according to your needs. There are many ways to access your voicemail, wherever you are. To start, you must select one of the options below you want to use, then follow the instructions.

    From your VoIP Office Ooma phone

    If you want to consult your voicemail, just get the phone, press the message button or dial your extension number.

    Noticed: The first time you have access to your voicemail, you will be invited to select a new PIN code during the initial configuration of it.

    Another Ooma Office phone or an external telephone line

    You have to wait until the call ends with voicemail, then press [*] and enter your PIN code. If this is the first time that you have access to your voicemail, you will need PIN code. If you do not have this PIN code, please contact your system administrator to ask it to define a new PIN code so that you can connect for the first time.

    Compose a number via the virtual receptionist

    If you are outside your office and you do not have a direct phone number to access your position, you can compose your voicemail thanks to the virtual receptionist. Just call the Ooma Office number to which the virtual receptionist responds and press [*] when the call connects. Then compose your post number, then enter your PIN code.

    Noticed: This feature may have been deactivated by the administrator of your Ooma Office account for WeWork if there is no voice message after pressing [*].

    Listening via email

    Your new voice messages will be automatically sent to your email address so that you can listen to them anywhere. The audio message will be sent to the format attached file .MP3, you can listen to them on most web browsers and messaging customers.

    If you must modify the email address to which your messages are sent, you must provide your new email address to your account administrator so that they can make the requested modification.

    Update your voicemail options

    Your personal voicemail can be personalized as much or as little as you wish. The options below describe the changes you can make and explain how to do.

    Save or update a personal reception message

    The first time you connect to your voicemail, you will be invited to record a home message for your extension.

    You can update your reception message at any time by selecting Option 5 In the main menu of vocal messaging. Select Option 1 in the submenu.

    Save or update your name

    You can choose to use a computerized voice message with only your recorded name instead of a home message. To do this, select Option 5 In the main menu of vocal messaging. Select Option 2 in the submenu.

    Modify your PIN code

    Once your voicemail account is configured, you can update your PIP code at any time. To do this, select Option 5 In the main menu of vocal messaging. Select Option 3 in the submenu.

    Configure voicemail on the iPhone

    In the phone app, “visual voicemail” and “live messaging” (offered by certain operators in certain countries or certain regions) display a list of your messages. You can choose which ones listen or delete them without having to listen to them all. A lozenge on the vocal message icon indicates the number of messages not listened to.

    The transcription functionality of voice messages (beta version, available only in certain countries or certain regions) displays your transcribed text messages. Transcription is limited to English voice messages received on an iPhone with iOS 10 or later. The transcription depends on the quality of the recording.

    Noticed : The functionalities of vocal messaging and visual voicemail are only offered by certain operators in certain countries or certain regions.

    Configure voicemail

    The first time you touch messaging, you are invited to create a secret code for your mailbox and register your reception ad.

    1. Touch messaging, then touch Configure now.
    2. Create a secret messaging code.
    3. Choose an ad: default or personalized. If you choose personalized, you can save a new ad.

    Activate “Live messaging”

    “Live messaging” allows you to consult a real -time transcription of a voice message while the person saves it. You can take the call even while the person saves their voice message.

    To activate “live messaging”, proceed as follows:

    1. Access Settings> Telephone> Live messaging.
    2. Touch to activate “live messaging”. When the “live messaging” function is activated, your iPhone responds to an incoming call in order to record the call message from the caller so that you can consult it in real time. Cellular data costs may apply. The appellant will not be able to hear you and you will not be able to hear it if you do not decide to answer the call. If your iPhone is turned off or out of reach of your operator’s network, the call will be sent to the operator’s voicemail, if it is available. If the “Silent Unknown Call” option is activated, unknown numbers will be directly redirected to “live messaging” and your phone will not ring. The calls identified by your operator as undesirable are not redirected to “live messaging” and are immediately refused.

    Noticed : “Live messaging” is available for two English variants (United States or Canada).
