Learn more about the vivo y76
Vivo continues on its momentum: offer smartphones placed on the mid -range at an attractive price. The Y76 5G model joins the brand’s other smartphones in Europe, it was released in Asia at the end of 2021. The strengths of this device, given its price category, are undoubtedly its finesse, camera and fast recharge.
Vivo Y76: the technical sheet
Thus, the Y76 has a sober aesthetic, in any case in its gray color. Vivo made an effort on the finesse of the device, which is 7.79 mm thick. The screen is a 6.58 inch in Full HD+, with a refresh rate of 60 Hz.
On the photo side, a special effort was put on the main big angle sensor, which benefits from 50 MP. It is accompanied by two other sensors of 2 MP each. The selfie camera benefits from a classic 16 mp. Vivo seems to be worked a lot on the software processing and the AI of the photo to offer effective results. A “extreme night vision 2.0 »is also integrated, as well as many functions for portraits.
The 4100 mAh battery recharging is a priori particularly fast (70 % in 32 minutes) thanks to the 44W flashload technology.
Like the Vivo Y72, the Y76 5G is propelled by the Mediatek Dimensity 700 5G chip. It is 8 GB of RAM that support him. Vivo also implemented a very useful technology: the extended RAM 2.0, which allows the device to benefit from a 4 GB supplement if necessary. Let us add that the Y72 is still on the stalls, the Y76 not so replacing it as offering a rise.
In addition, like all smartphones in the Y series, the Y76 has a double-Sim location, 5G connectivity and a side fingerprint reader. The device is natively delivered with Funtouch OS 12, which is based on the latest version of Google’s OS. There will be two years of major update and three years of security update.
The Vivo Y76 5G will be available in France from mid-April, in two colors (“Aurore blue” and “midnight gray”), to 349 € For the 128 GB version.
Vivo Y76 5G test: the smartphone with ease
Vivo invests the mid -range market with a model stamped Y76 5G. With its Dimensity 700 chip, the smartphone wants to be powerful, while remaining affordable, even if it means making it less on other points, such as photography.
Presentation
Young on the hexagonal market, Vivo deploys a still limited catalog in France. Among its terminals, mid -range series V, and a little more accessible, including the Y76 5G. Cohabating in the brand’s ecosystem with the Y72, a little more affordable, the smartphone puts on a technical sheet counting an IPS 6.58 -inch screen, a Mediatek Dimensity 700 chip, a 4100 mAh battery and a photo module S ‘Pressing a 50 megapixel main sensor.
The Y76 5G is offered in a single 8/128 GB version billed € 349. A relatively high price that places Vivo’s smartphone in the same courtyard as axiaomi Redmi Note 11 pro or a northern oneplus 2, all also compatible with 5G.
Ergonomics and design
Vivo Y76 is classic in its tariff category. He does not play by the escalation either in the materials department or in terms of functionalities. The smartphone measures 163.8 x 75, x 7.8 mm and weighs 175 grams, like most of its competitors with a background in plastic plastic plastic. Without much originality, and where competing models offer a slightly more elegant punch, it shelters a screen occupying 85.25 % of its facade – a correct score, without more – and whose photo sensor is housed in a shape in shape drop. On the back, we note the care given to its photo module, honored by a contrasting island, and the choice of a rather successful iridescent shell.
Despite a lack of risk -in -design, we appreciate that Vivo does not skimp on options. The smartphone associates a USB-C port with a mini-jack plug which remains practical on a daily basis. A fingerprint reader, hidden in the ignition button located on its right flank, is also present, and is particularly reactive.
We also note that it can accommodate two SIM cards, or a SIM and a microSD card to extend its 128 GB of storage. In short, from this point of view, Vivo does not make a mistake.
Audio
Vivo retains the traditional mini-jack socket alongside its USB-C port. This behaves properly, granting only a low distortion and ensuring a good output level. The most connected can opt for wireless headphones, the smartphone being compatible with the Bluetooth 5.1.

Screen
If a good number of smartphones beyond 300 € offer AMOLED screens, the Y76 5G favors a 6.58-inch IPS LCD slab. This displays 1080 x 2408 pixels (resolution of 401 pp) at ratio 20: 9, and is satisfied with the traditional refresh rate of 60 Hz. If you have to look for the madness of this smartphone, it is not resolutely in your screen that we will find it.
As usual, we have measured the maximum brightness of the Y76 5G screen, which is 492 cd/m². A value certainly increasing if we compare it to the brightness of the Y72, but a little light in the face of that of smartphones in the same price range, such as the Redmi Note 11 P 5G, which exceeds 800 CD/m², or even facing A northern oneplus this 2 which exceeds 600 cd/m². It is all the more unfortunate that the vivo model is sensitive to reflections (reflectance of 50.1 %), not very contrasted (1138: 1) and requires a high brightness in full sun. On the other hand, it has the merit of lowering up to 2.2 cd/m² to allow comfortable reading in the darkness. His tactile delay, in the average, is 97 ms, and his time of remanence at 17 ms; correct values that contribute to its comfortable use.
Despite its entry -level positioning, the Y76 offers various display modes to adjust the colors. It seems relevant to be content with the default mode (standard) mode, its delta e being contained at 2.7, and its color temperature located at 6980 k. It is certainly a little cold, the reference video standard being recalled at 6,500 K, but the other modes are not necessarily better. With professional mode, you will get a Delta E of 1.6, but a slightly hot temperature (5836 k). It is possible, by playing with the temperature gauge offered by Vivo, to improve the rendering. We nevertheless regret that it is necessary to grip so much to get the most out of this screen.

Performance
For his Y76, Vivo calls on the Mediatek Dimensity 700 chip including of course a 5G modem. This chip engraved in 7 nm has eight hearts (two cortex-a76 to 2.2 GHz, and six Cortex-A55 to 2 GHz) as well as a Mali-G57 MC2 GPU. Far from being an unknown, she is also at work on the Y72 5G of Vivo, dating from last year, and maintained in the French catalog of the brand.
In terms of daily performance, this chipset, Flanked here with 8 GB of RAM, is sufficiently swarming to accommodate many applications. At the shoulder to shoulder with the Y72, he also obtained the very good index of 97 during our targeting tests dedicated to multitasking.
The smartphone deviates from its predecessor in the field of graphic performance. He master his subject more, which allows him to collect an index of 91 (72 for the Y72). Concretely, its best optimization allows it to ensure the display of 40 to 62 images per second during play sessions, for a comfortable average of 51 i/s. His predecessor, he posted a dozen images per second less. If this Y76 5G is not really the best provided for the game, in particular by its rate of screen refreshment limited to 60 Hz, it is not lacking in power, and it is even more appreciable at its rate level.
Photo
Unlike many entry and mid -range smartphones, the Y76 5G does not multiply the photo modules. What to hope that he swaps a versatility not necessarily controlled against a solid performance on his only playground: the Grand-Angle. To do this, the terminal is focused on a module including a 50 megapixel sensor and an optics opening at f/1.8. We also note the presence of two sensors of 2 megapixels each, dedicated to the measurement of depth and macro. Too bad all the same that Vivo offers neither ultra grand angle nor optical zoom.
Main module: 50 megapixels, f/1.8, eq. 26 mm
None of the frontal competitors of the Y76 5G is equipped with a comparable main module, some offering a 64 megapixel sensor, and the others of 108 megapixels. We therefore placed the aircraft in front of the northern oneplus 2, a little more expensive when it was released, but whose price has largely lowered since 2021.
By day, the Y76 5G does not demerite, even if the defects of its processing are visible. A pronounced digital noise is present on a large part of the image, and the whole lacks dive. The colors lack liveliness and the contours are a bit rough, but the whole has the merit of being harmonious. It avoids the pitfall of the overcurning that is observed on the northern cliché 2.
The night also poses difficulties at the Y76. The noise is always present, the fault undoubtedly to an important climb in ISO. The same lack of dive is visible. The sharpness of the contours of the small elements leaves something to be desired, the smoothing is present and the finest details disappear. However, it must be recognized that if North 2 manages to restore more elements and colors a little more vivid, it is at the cost of an even more manifest smoothing.
Portrait mode, front and video module
A 16 megapixel sensor officiates on the facade of the Y76. The options that accompany selfies, starting with the many filters and options for modifying the face, reflect young targeting and social media lover. If you want a little natural, remember to deactivate the automatic embellishment applied by the smartphone, which increases the smoothing already present on the shots ! We still note the efforts made by Vivo, which even offers models of postures to inspire lovers of selfies missing a little imagination and makes it possible to modulate the intensity of the vagueness of its portrait mode. All this is worth on the back as on the front. Add that a slightly aggressive cut is at work when you use portrait mode. Finally, on the video side, Vivo offers to film in full HD at 30 i/s, with its front and back modules.
Autonomy
To limit the weight and thickness of its Y76 5G, Vivo had to make a small compromise on the question of the battery, at least if it is compared to that of the Y72 (5000 mAh). The brand opts here for a capacity of 4100 mAh, which unfortunately does not allow it to display the same endurance as the Y72. We measured 3 h 03 min of use during our target tests, which is nevertheless suitable and allows to hold a real day of use. The comparison plays against the smartphone, its predecessor having exceeded 24 hours and the Redmi Note 11 PRO 5G, for example, flirting with the 20 hours.
Vivo partially compensates by offering fast load at 44 W. It allows him to refuel in 58 minutes, which is reasonable. The charger is supplied with the smartphone. On the other hand, like most entry and mid -range terminals, the Y76 5G does not offer wireless load.
Sustainability
Our sustainability score makes it possible to determine the lasting aspect of the smartphone as much for the consumer as for the environment. It is based on the repairability index, sustainability criteria (protection index, standard connectors, warranty duration and updates. ) and an assessment of CSR policies (corporate social responsibility). You will find all the details of the analysis in our article presenting the sustainability score.
Vivo Y76 5G test: enduring, but a little late on his time
Successor of the Y72, the Vivo Y76 5G is now the head of the entry -level at Vivo and brings some small improvements while starting to dip a toe in the middle of the range.

Vivo Y76
June 26, 2022 06/26/2022 • 20:05
The Vivo brand may still be a little overlooked, but it gradually continues its installation in France. The brand still has some advantages to assert on the French market. Freshly arrived, the current Chinese market leader gradually extends his catalog in France and continues to offer new proposals that are affordable.
Vivo currently has 3 ranges of smartphones with us: the X range which consists of its “flagships”, the V range which connects the entry -level and the high range, and finally the Y range which constitutes the offer of Vivo call. The Vivo Y76 is the latest offer and brings together everything that the brand can offer below 400 euros. So, is this smartphone worth a look ?

Vivo Y76 Design
Vivo Y76 is a really very conventional smartphone in the form. With these 163.8 mm in height, 75 mm wide and 7.8 mm thick, however, it is well enough in hand for a smartphone of this size. We can’t really talk about a compact format here. Access to the upper corners of the screen will not be done with one hand, or you will have to do a little gymnastics. But it makes it good enough for content consumption.
This smartphone is quite fine and light, it weighs only 175 grams thanks to a material quite often used for smartphones at this price, that is to say plastic. He nevertheless looks quite solid once in hand. This smartphone does not offer IP certification guaranteeing water resistance.
The back is plastic and has a matt finish very pleasant to the touch with rounded edges that do not fit into the palm of the hand. The coating does the job well in terms of hiding the fingerprints. Only downside, the inscriptions that overlook the logo on the back of the smartphone are in relief and betray somewhat the pleasant experience that we have when you hold the smartphone in hand.
This coating may be rather pleasant in hand, it also makes the phone slightly more slippery. But no fear to have, Vivo provides a protective shell here in the smartphone box.
We find, at the rear, a rectangular photo block in the upper left corner comprising 3 sensors, arranged together on a small glass elevation which gives cachet to the whole. The photo block does not come out too much from the chassis of the smartphone, but the fact is pitch when you press the side opposite the sensors when it is placed flat on a table.
The slices are also made of plastic and display a shiny coating which is working not to show too much finger traces, but which is still more dirty than the back. The finish of the phone we have here is the Aurore blue version which offers an azure tone with orange red reflections, sometimes green, inspired by the northern lights and which give it a fairly unique look.
The volume button as well as that of unlocking are both placed on the right edge of the smartphone and are well accessible even to one hand, although we can confuse them at the beginning if we are not used to them have in this provision.
The power button contains a fingerprint sensor which turns out to be very responsive to use. At the bottom of the smartphone, there is a USB-C port for recharging as well as a mono speaker and a jack. The SIM location is above the smartphone with the possibility of accommodating two SIMs or a SIM and an SD card to extend storage.
Housed at the front, we will find a selfie camera in the notch of water drop quite small. It is overlooked by the speaker used to make calls. No punch camera here, the manufacturer opts for a slightly less recent design. The smartphone screen has fairly thin edges except for the lower edge which displays a chin of about 6 mm.
It is only one or two millimeters more than a pixel 6 for example, but it is enough to notice it slightly more, especially when consume content in landscape mode, without being too embarrassing. This smartphone therefore has a fairly classic design, a little too much, if not its color and the camera module which bring it a touch of freshness.
The vivo y76 5g therefore succeeded in offering a fairly successful design with beautiful finishes, and a color that attracts the eye on the back although its design becomes very conventional once back on the front front. This has the merit of functioning without being transcendent, other smartphones take more risks in the same price segment.
Vivo y76 screen
At the front, we are entitled to an LCD Full HD+ screen of 6.58 inch fairly massive with flat borders while simplicity which offers a resolution of 401 pp. It offers a brightness that rises up to 460 nits, it is enough for indoor use, but as soon as it will be to use it in direct sunlight, the task will already be more complex.
