Exceptional loyalty

Give life to incredibly immersive and realistic interactive experiences with revolutionary systems such as Nanite and Lumen, which make it possible to create entirely dynamic environments with unprecedented visual fidelity.

Animation and modeling in context

Associated with ever more numerous and effective modeling tools, our new skeletoning, recibaling, execution and animation systems designed for artists make it possible to reduce the number of iterations and back and forth, to accelerate the more Creation process.

The power of the Unreal Editor for Fortnite

Design, develop and publish content in Fortnite by applying the work flows of the Unreal Editor using advanced PC tools and the new script language paid.

Main features

A ready -to -use toolbox

Whatever your field of activity, the Unreal Engine 5 incorporates all the tools you need to offer superb content and experiences in real time, without unpleasant.

See all features
Nanite and Virtual Shadow Maps

Massively detailed worlds

Create games and worlds with immense quantities of geometric details thanks to the Nanite virtualized micropolygone system and Virtual Shadow Maps.

Import and reply directly meshes made up of millions of polygons while preserving the frequency of images in real time (even at 60 fps) and without drop in resolution.

These intelligent systems only deal and generate the details you can perceive, considerably reducing the number of polygons and calls to generate (Draw Calls).

Dynamic overall lighting and reflections

Lumen is a global lighting and management solution of fully dynamic reflections allowing to create indirect lighting which adapts to the volley to changes in direct lighting or geometry, especially when the solar angle changes according to the time of the day or when a door outside opens.

With Lumen, you no longer need to create LightMap UV, to wait for the pregeneration of the lightmaps, nor to place captures of reflections; What you see in the Unreal Editor, you get it in your console.

The Super Resolution temporal system (TSR)

Quality or performance ? Why choose ?

Players on new generation consoles expect minimum frequencies of 60 frames per second on high -resolution screens, which puts the rendering resources to the test.

The Integrated Temporal Super Resolution system (TSR) manages high -quality overchanting independently of the platform. It allows the engine to make the rendering in a much lower resolution, but with output images whose loyalty is equivalent to that of the images generated in a higher resolution.

Larger and immersive open worlds

Easily manage your levels with World Partition, a system that automatically divides the world into a grid and only loads the necessary cells.

Team members can work simultaneously in the same region of a world thanks to the One File Per Actor system. Data layers make it possible to create different variations of the same world (for example day and night) in the form of layers coexisting in the same space.

Characters and animation

Building in context

The Unreal Engine 5 incorporates new animation tools thought for artists, which allow you to gain precision and reduce the number of iterations and back and forth on CCN tools.

Quickly create new skeletons in Rig Control and animate your characters in Sequencer or Reclage your existing animations. You can even use automatic learning to generate real -time quality deformations.

Then dynamically adjust the animations during execution to anticipate the different game scenarios, such as variations in speed or field.

Instant development of resources

The Unreal Engine 5 incorporates a complete and always more supplied set of modeling tools, in particular for the modification of meshes, the geometry scripts, the creation and the edition of UV and the attributes of pregeneration and meshing.

With these tools, artists can create resources and new iterations (including dense meshes such as those generated using photogrammetry or via kitbashing) directly in the Unreal Editor, which allows you to time and reduce the risk of errors.

Procedural audio design

Metasounds is a system offering high performance and complete control in the generation of TNS graphs of audio sources. You can manage all aspects of rendering to create new generation procedural sound experiences.

Like the material editor, the system is fully programmable and is accompanied by many improvements, such as the use of dynamic resources, the mapping of playing parameters according to sounds, new optimized workflows and even more.

Stack-Obot

Stack-Obot is a small sandbox project that allows you to discover all the new features of the Unreal Engine 5 in a very practical vertical environment. Combined with the content of our learning journey to guide you in each facet of the project, this demo contains everything you need to embark on development, but also very practical tools for the most experienced indesible.

Lyra starting game

The Lyra starting game is an example of a game project created in parallel with the development of the Unreal Engine 5. It serves as an ideal starting point for creating new games, as well as practical learning resources. We plan to continue to improve this scalable project with future outings, in order to illustrate the most recent practices.

City Sample

City Sample is an example of a free download project. It allows you to discover how the urban scene of The Matrix Awakens was created: a unreal engine 5 experience. This project, which includes an entire city with its buildings, vehicles and its crowd of Metahuman characters, shows how we used the new and improved systems of the Unreal Engine 5 to create this experience.
