We were talking to you at the beginning of the month of the availability of the software update 02.88.40 for the TV 4 decoder. According to two readers that we thank, Christophe and Louis, this version is already in ancient history since the firmware 02.90.42 has already been deployed by Orange since mid-March for this same TV decoder 4.
Obviously, as always, no information on the improvements made. One might also wonder if there is really an interest in publishing a news on this subject with so little information but that has at least the merit of warning you of the availability of an update and you allow you to check if it corrects any bugs that you may meet.

Orange has launched an information campaign for its customers who have a white decoder. This will be changed for everyone and the operation will be free. In some cases, the Livebox will also be changed.
If you are at Orange and you have a white decoder, you have received or go and receive a letter informing you of the change in your equipment.
Indeed, this decoder which now has several years on the counter will no longer be updated and will stop operating on November 9, according to a letter received by our reader Maxime.
A completely free change
Orange will therefore exchange your white TV decoder by the latest release: the UHD TV decoder which is much smaller and capable of displaying 4K images, but also to make you enjoy applications such as Netflix, Disney+ or Prime Video as well as other services such as virtual digital recorder.
In the event that the Livebox is old, it will also be replaced by a more recent livebox, the Livebox 4. Finally, it will be possible to link the two devices directly to Wi-Fi, so you can store your cables or your CPL kit.
The change will be completely free for the customer and there will be no modification of the offer or any increase in the price of the subscription.

Orange changes the decoder for free but what they don’t say is that you will no longer have access to the recording option if you had it before.
It is therefore necessary to repay 10 € to send an external hard drive but 4 €/month to have this option
So for me there is no longer the same offer as before ..
Knowing that I of course try by myself with a USB key or an external hard drive impossible to format it for Orange ..
So I unfortunately learn to do without one more option with them ..

Hello, this decoder has a cloud recording function. Just press the recording key so that it can be done simply as before but now the recordings are accessible from everywhere if you log in with your account.

I have an old TV without HDMI connection. I received the new decoder but despite an adapter Spell/HDMI no mage on TV . And at Orange I am told that I have to change TV. Inadmissible not to have to think that
Customer equipment could not bear this imposed change of decoder. Is there a solution to avoid buying a new TV? Are there screech/ HDMI adapter for UHD?
