Test – Tesla Model Y: the best compromise from Tesla
After the Model S, the Model 3, the Model X… The model completes the naughty word game of Elon Musk. Yes, if you read well: S-3-X-Y we get s3xy ! And it is true that she is starting to be damn sexy the range of the Californian manufacturer that many gave for death just 3 years ago. Today it is the biggest seller of electric cars in the world.
Essay-Tesla Model y Propulsion: why does he crush the competition ?
During the first quarter of 2023, the Tesla Model became the best -selling car in the world. How to explain the phenomenal success of this electric SUV at more than € 45,000 ? Steering wheel.
Imported since August 2021, the Tesla Model immediately met with great success on the European market. Based on the same platform as the Tesla Model 3, this family SUV offers the advantage of being much more spacious than the 4 -door and more practical sedan to load thanks to its large tailgate for a reasonable additional cost of € 3000. The arrival of the entry -level model called “Propulsion” at the beginning of 2023 to € 45,990 (excluding ecological bonus) made it possible to propel the Model Y at the top of the sales of new vehicles to individuals all engines combined. A historical success which is explained by a price ratio/equipment/services never seen in the history of the automobile. Let’s come back in more detail on the main qualities and faults of this SUV without emission.
A remarkable size/habitability ratio
The Tesla Model presents a relatively generous template there but better suited to European small roads than its imposing big brother, the Tesla Model X. With 4.75 m long and 1.92 m wide (excluding retro) and 1.62 m high, it is however in the high compact SUV fork and perfectly operates its space on board to offer a gigantic chest (854 L/2158L) lined with a very deep double background and a second trunk under the front hood also spacious (117 liters). In the rear seats, three adults can take places comfortably. Too bad there is a lack of ISOFIX sockets on the central square to install three “baby seats”. Large doors, however, facilitate accessibility, especially as the vehicle does not require a key to unlock or start. Everything is done via the smartphone application, which may seem a little disturbing at first but turns out to be immense daily progress.
Given its substantial size, the Tesla Model is quite bulky in the narrow streets. Its large robbery diameter (12.13 m) does not facilitate maneuvers either. To this is added a mediocre backward feedback. These faults are nevertheless compensated by the presence of numerous surveillance cameras around the vehicle allowing to detect all obstacles (even sidewalks) and to visualize them directly or to have an overview on a colorful diagram. Note that on the latest generations of Tesla, infrared sensors and radars have completely disappeared in favor of cameras. Like all electric vehicles, the Tesla Model provides a very relaxing driving softness and operating silence in urban use. The absence of a gearbox, reactivity at start -up and regenerative braking also contribute to driving comfort. Even if we can regret the absence of the possibility of adjusting the level of regeneration to braking, the latter automatically adapts to traffic panels and traffic in order to mark stops with stops and red lights without ever touching the brake pedal.
An incomparable level of equipment
In addition to its many surveillance cameras, the Tesla Model is distinguished by its very high level of equipment with a panoramic glass roof, alloy rims or even electric seats. All seats are heated as are the wipers and the steering wheel. Only fog lights are missing on this entry -level version. A trifle as much as the LED headlights incorporates automatic switching on highway fires. The multimedia assembly is a reference in the automotive world thanks to a very powerful processor (Ryzen like PlayStation 5) which gives it remarkable fluidity and sumptuous graphics. This on -board computer incorporates video games and authorizes internet browsing such as access to YouTube, Twich, or Netflix. It is now even possible to participate in a zoom meeting thanks to the interior camera located at the rear view mirror. To this is added a very high quality hi-fi channel with deep and powerful bass and many settings. The navigation system includes a very effective journey planner which takes into account the Tesla rapid charging network (the densest and the most reliable in the world) but also the new external operators.
Driving assistance also appears in the basic endowment with an active regulator with distance control coupled with line maintenance aid. The “Improved Autopilot” option at € 3,800 adds the automatic channel change and automatic parking aids (with the possibility of moving the car with its smartphone). But these features are rather the gadget as long as helping line maintenance is too sensitive and often disconnects. As for the “fully autonomous driving capacity” option at € 7,500, it is perfectly unnecessary as long as autonomous driving is not approved. Even if it means focusing on the future, you might as well offer the manufacturer’s actions as this interest -free option. It is also not very relevant to opt for metallic paint at € 1,600 which turns out to be too fragile. Better to opt for a “covering” that will protect your body and offer more color choices.
Unbeatable energy yield
If the Tesla Model Y “Great Autonomy” and “Performance” include two engines (therefore four -wheel drive) and a battery of around 75 kWh, the “propulsion” model is satisfied with a 275 hp rear engine powered by a battery 60 kWh. The latter exploits a different chemistry known as LFP (Lithium iron phosphate) which offer the advantage of being devoid of cobalt, offering a better lifespan and being less flammable in the event of an accident. On the other hand, these batteries have a less favorable yield which requires adding more and do not appreciate too cold temperatures. Our test model made in Shanghai thus had LFP cells manufactured by the Chinese giant Catl. Given for 1909 kg, the Tesla Model y propulsions weighs only 70 kg less than the large autonomy version with NAC type cells (nickel aluminum cobalt). Although it is a substantial weight for a SUV, it remains the lightest in its category. A BMW IX1 claims 176 kg more. This contained mass of the Tesla SUV lined with more sophisticated mechanics (synchronous motor with variable reluctance) give it the best energy efficiency in the segment.
Acceleration in 6.9 s on 0 to 100 km/h is not as impressive as in the large autonomy (5 s) and performance (3.7 s) versions but is more than enough to fit on track serenely and exceed, especially since the covers remain very tonic. The top speed of 217 km/h is also at the top of the electric SUV basket. It is mainly consumption that deserves to be applauded with an average of around 16.5 kWh/100 km in real mixed conditions, the equivalent of a Peugeot 208 or a zoé. The autonomy therefore oscillates between 400 km in town and 280 km on a highway at 130 km/h which is equivalent to what competitors offer (Audi Q4 or BMW X1) but with larger batteries. Note that the Tesla Model has a propulsion authorizes a towing capacity of 1,600 kg braked. Too bad the coupling billed € 1,350, causes the ecological bonus to be lost by exceeding € 47,000. To negotiate therefore at the time of the order.
Test – Tesla Model Y: the best compromise from Tesla
A year after the United States, that’s it the Y model, the SUV derived from the Tesla Model 3, arrives in France. Here is our first test of the new Hit of the young Californian manufacturer.
Better still, the Model 3 is even, any type of engine combined, the best -selling sedan in Europe, a camouflet for German, French and Italian manufacturers. And with this brand new Model Y, Tesla is now attacking their business: Compact SUVs ! But Tesla is not a white leaf. In the same way that it had declined the SUV Model S with the Model X, the model is a Model 3 higher, wider 4 cm and 5 cm longer 5 cm. The range therefore has a large sedan (s) and a large SUV (x), a small sedan (3) and a small SUV (Y). While waiting for the surprising Pickup, the Cybertruck, next year, and the stratospheric roadster that has just been offset at 2023.
So we like it or we don’t like Tesla design, but I must say that it has a face our test y ! Its black rims like turbine matched to the black of the door handles and window frames which have become the standard in the manufacturer. Elon Musk having decreed that the chrome was now cheesy !

Espace X
If they are very similar, the model is not just a raised 3. His more imposing template gives him a little model air, and it’s not just an impression. The interior space is significantly higher than that of the sedan, an impression of space reinforced by the immense glass roof from start to finish when that of Model 3 is in two parts. The effect is striking. But the most impressive, and I weigh my words is the trunk. With 854 liters, it is by far the largest in the category. Yes, yes, you read that well, 854 liters. By way of comparison its competitor, the Hyundai Ioniq 5 is satisfied with 527 liters which is already a lot ! Folded seats Le Model offers up to 2100 liters of loading volume. The trips to the furniture giants will no longer be scared you !
It is all the more impressive in good Tesla, the model also has a “fruit” (front trunk), a trunk under the front cover. Even larger than in Model 3, the latter adds a capacity of 117 liters. Something to slide a very large cabin suitcase !
Common parts
On the other hand, no surprise inside, alas. It is the same interior as that of the sedan. More spacious. We therefore find this ultra -refined dashboard that I love but which can destabilize some. It is only available in two shades: black and white, or as on our model y of test, in black and wood. Only peculiarity, in good SUV, the seat of the front seats is higher and slightly more straight. SUV displayedos will love. And of course, in the middle of this living space sits the Master Piece of Tout Tesla: its incredible 15 inch screen. All the functions of the car are grouped together.
From the opening of the glove box to the wiper controls, or the air conditioning adjustment, everything is done from this huge tablet. Revolutionary air conditioning, moreover, since you will see that there are no prominent aerators as in most cars of the 20th century, or even all the others. Instead, there is simply a nozzle that runs along the whole dashboard, almost invisible. Better yet, just guide the stylized air flow on the screen with your fingertips (or fingers if you want to divide the flow in half to blow around you) to orient it. It is magical, precise, unpublished and of extreme modernity.
Tesla, they are disappointed by the Californian manufacturer – Turbo report of 10/16/2022
Always more modern
Modernity is the fundamental character of Model Y, like all the other Tesla. The car is connected to the internet standard and therefore regularly updates “over the air”, at night, without you having nothing to do. The car has a Spotify account to listen to music streaming, but also watch movies on Netflix or videos on YouTube and Twitch. Just to take care of you pleasantly when you wait for the Tesla Supercharger. Superchargers that you will now find on all the main axes of Cap Nord in Gibraltar, while the electric owners of other brands will make cold sweats to find the nearest right terminal. I will obviously pass on video games available (there are regular new ones), the sentinel mode (surveillance camera around the car when it is on standby), dog mode (to leave its pets in the Auto safely), the campsite mode, the “prout” box, the romantic fireplace mode … and so on and the best, I could not give you all the great features and gadgets that this car is as the list is infinite.
And of course, everything is also managed remotely via an application on your smartphone. I would never tire of hob at a distance or have the lights flash via the app to start passers -by … yes, I’m teasing ! And do not look for your cables (dear to Laurent Baffie), it is your phone that opens the car when you approach your Tesla, without having to get it out. All you have to do is set up behind the wheel, your profile is directly selected with your personal settings (you can add several profiles, for your companion or your partner for example, each will have their settings in one click). Then you have to select “D” on the carbox selector and accelerate. No bulp to activate or “start” button to start … Believe me when you tasted it, it’s hard to come back to other cars without having the impression of going back to the past. Only the 100% electric XC40 had accustomed us to this new way of starting just by selecting the “D” mode.
You hallucinate ? Not completely ! Know that all this is standard. Yes, including the Google Maps GPS with its giant card (thank you the tablet format screen) which automatically calculates the recharging stops according to your autonomy and how long you will stay there as well as your battery level with each stop and once arrive at destination. There they are strong ! For a very primitive version and a quarter of these BMW, Mercedes or Audi features would ask you for thousands and thousands of euros as an option. On the Y Model and all Tesla, it’s standard. It’s very simple, the only options of our test model are the rims and the metallic paint, point bar !
Performance at the level
But then, where the wolf is ? There must be a ? Driving and performance perhaps ? Let’s see that … For the moment, only the “Great Autonomy” version is available, with its two electric motors. It is therefore 4 wheel drive. Although Tesla never communicates its power figures, we know that the model hides a 73 kWh battery there. On paper it is credited with a range of 507 km according to the WLTP standard. From our experience, we easily achieve 400 km in real, which is starting to be interesting.
Especially since the little SUV has everything of a large tesla. Pressure on the accelerator and you are catapulted. Five seconds to shoot 0 to 100 km/h, 215 km/h of top speed. These are sports figures of a very good level, far from what we imagine for a compact SUV. And that’s not all. The smallest turn is swallowed with greed and we want more. Almost no roll of rolls, suspensions a little more flexible than on a model 3.
Even perched in height, the car is riveted to the ground. By selecting the hardest steering assistance mode, we can even place ourselves in a fairly precise way in the turns and feel that it can jump from one turn to the other at light speed. Unimaginable on a family SUV … There are Bout’chou who will arrive in advance at school ! And again, the “performance” version only arrives in a while. There, you will go into another dimension ! The 0 to 100 km/h in 3.7 seconds, 241 km/h of top speed … Yes in an electric SUV of this template, it’s pretty crazy.
Good to know: anticipate purchase and resale.
Whether for the purchase of a new or used car, it is important to provide all expenses by comparing different car insurance offers.
- – Performance
- – Habitability and volume of the trunk
- – Price VS. competition
- – Forget the ecological bonus with the options
- – Resemblance to model x
There remains the unfortunate detail: 49.900 euros for the basic version. If you do not take an option you can deduct 2.000 euros of ecological bonus. On the other hand, no salvation for the “perfomance” version which remains at 66.900 euros and will no longer benefit from bonuses at this rate.
Sums that may seem very important but which, for an electric SUV with this level of equipment, technology, and performance, remains ultimately quite unbeatable.
Tesla Model Y Test Propulsion: Excellent value for money
It will have taken less than three months since its official presentation so that the Tesla Model Propulsion arrives on the French market. A record for an automobile in these disturbed times. Proof that the model, in addition to displaying the lowest price in the Tesla range currently (for how long ?), quickly wants to get on the podium of the best -selling electric vehicles. Why is Elon Musk so sure of its new entry-level model ? Its price lower than that of the sedan justifies ? We tried it.

Tesla Model y Propulsion (2022)
May 22, 2023 05/22/2023 • 08:41
Updated test : The note has gone from 8/10 to 9/10 thanks to the recent price reductions which make it excellent value for money. Unfortunately, the arrival of Tesla Vision for the parking lot did not resolve its biggest black point: its parking aids which leave to be desired.
The new Volvo XC40 recharging 2023 is therefore equal to the American electric car as we have seen recently with its detailed test.
Remember a few years ago, when the Tesla Model 3 was only offered in a great autonomy and performance version, all with four-wheel drive. Well we were far from seeing as much as nowadays. That, we owe it to the arrival of the Tesla Model 3 SR+, or more simply Tesla Model 3 “Propulsion”, which has truly exploded Tesla sales. But while waiting for the future famous little model at € 25,000 that we have been talking about for years, we did not expect another model to prick the cheapest vehicle in the “TM3 Prop” range.
And foil all the forecasts (if you had bet the opposite, you must now have enough to roll in model x plaid !), Elon Musk has decided to propel her model y to the front of the stage, with him too a single engine and two -wheel drive version. And reduced autonomy compared to the upper versions.
So this lowest autonomy in the Tesla range is worth the lowest price ? Is the Tesla Model propulsion there a tesla at a discount ? Should we go on this entry-level model or on the contrary succumb to its value for money ? We will answer these questions on the occasion of this first try at its wheel.

The Devil hides in the details
If you want originality, go your way. Nothing looks more like a tesla than this model there. And the differences with the upper high autonomy version (which is also regularly called LR or “long rage”) are nonexistent. Unless you have an expert eye, because yes, there are a few details that normally do not deceive.
The first, for sure, it is the fog lights at the front, which do not exist on this propulsion version. Visually it feels like they are there, but these are black opaque plastic pieces, which replace the real fog lights found on the upper versions. This was already the case for the “small” model 3 compared to more opulent finishes.
If you have to look or have a favorable ray of sunshine to note that the fog lights are no longer there, there is another detail that can put the chip in the ear regarding the entry -level version: absence ultrasonic sensors in the front shields as rear. Everything is smooth now. A characteristic of the 2023 vintage tesla of which is a part of this “Tmy Prop” but which will apply to TMY great autonomy and performance soon also. Why this disappearance ? Quite simply for the passage to the Tesla Vision system, but we will come back to it later.
Outdoor proportions and equipment
For the rest, the dimensions do not differ on this entry -level version which retains its Model 3 Sur Steroid look: 4.75 meters long (+6 cm than a model 3), 1.92 m wide (+7 cm) and 1.62 m high (+18 cm).
For the configuration, we always have the choice between five body shades, white being standard color, two different interiors (black and white black), 19 -inch (standard) or 20 inches rims … Little or Prou what is offered on the upper model, with two changes: the gray and the red of the body are now different on the large autonomy version, but also more expensive (more expensive option of € 1400 for gray, and € 1200 for red).
Our test model does not cling to any option: it is the cheapest version of all, “Multacked pearly white” shade with the 19 -inch gemini rims hidden under hubcaps that allow you to win a few tens of kilometers autonomy compared to 20 inch rims. It’s up to you to choose, style or autonomy.
Tesla Model y Propulsion (2022) Habitability
Also inside this new propulsion version is nothing more than a model as we already know it. The walk to climb inside, nicely embellished with the marked “Model Y”, is not very high and unlike the sedan of the range, no need to bend down to put its seant, the seat vegan leather seats is at the right height.
The good news is that here, Tesla did not cut anything compared to the superior models, not even on the equipment which is better than the Basic Model 3 sedan: when it was released, the Model 3 SR+ had only the heated front seats, before the second version, the propulsion version added the rear heated seats too. On the Tmy Prop, the five seats are heated. And the steering wheel too.
As for the premium sound, available on the upper versions of the Tmy, it is also standard here. Which is not the case for Model 3.
A good point also on the finishes which do not suffer from any criticism. Everything is well assembled, and on this, the Gigafactory of Shanghai, which produces this version of the Model has made many progress there since its opening, despite an increasingly high production rate of production.
Obviously the strong point of this cabin remains the volume of loading, gigantic, when we add the trunk, its two “wells” on the sides, and its two compartments under the floor, as well as the “fruit” under the front hood. We talk about 854 liters when the seats are in place, 2041 liters when the 40/20/40 bench is folded down, and 117 liters at the front. Ideal especially when you have young children, with babies, and you have to go on vacation with the pot, the foldable bed, the stroller … it even leaves room for luggage !
Note that unlike the first models who arrived on the market, the trunk has a rear shelf, which some regretted not having, especially to hide what is hidden in the trunk (even if by day, the telescope tinted rear does not allow anything to see). Magnetic, it must be admitted that it is not the most practical to use, especially when it must be folded in one hand to put a bulky object that one would have in the other. We press the end to slide it backwards, so far it’s okay, but since she has nothing to wedge her in the background, she tends to put herself back on her own. A detail, but nevertheless annoying.
Tesla Model y Propulsion (2022) infotainment
The screen
When you buy a Tesla, you have to be aware that everything, absolutely everything, goes through the central screen. It must be said that he sits in the center of the dashboard with his 15 inch, and that ultimately it is a bit the only thing that there is to see in this interior.
If you have never mounted in a Tesla before, or in a Model S or Model X, know that here there is no instrumentation behind the steering wheel. Anything relating to driving happens in the left part of the horizontal tablet, speed display, and witnesses of road lights, flashing, or any alert on the car. This is also where when you stop, you can open the chests or unlock the charging plug on the back left.
As for the right part of the screen, let’s say the remaining 60 %, are dedicated to infotainment, navigation but also all the settings of the car.
For those who discover the Tesla universe with this propulsion model, know that we are done very quickly because the interface is simplified to the maximum. Indeed, the car icon at the bottom left of the screen, the place closest to our right arm when driving, allows access to one click, without even having to look at the screen, to all The settings. Especially since in the bottom of icons from the bottom, in addition to being able to find the icons of the last menus used, we can also personalize as you wish in the icons of the functions that we want to have on hand.
Indeed afterwards, it is necessary to spend a little time for a walk in the menus to adjust everything as we wish: the position of the seat, the mirrors, the automation of the wipers or the headlights, the interior, exterior, exterior lighting The display on the screen, the driving mode, the type of regenerative braking … The first hours behind the wheel of a Tesla should go to the stop, to familiarize themselves with all the functions, their location, and S ‘ ensure that we will not have to find a function urgently during driving.
This Tesla Model has a propulsion, like the other vehicles of the brand, does not lack the reputation of “geek car” but it must also be aware that for those that this “all digital” side would put off a priori, everything is done here To go to the simplest.
Besides, for the most more geeks who would already be familiar with the Tesla universe, know that the AMD Ryzen infotainment processor offers fluidity and that it does not suffer from any latency of latency. An experience like all manufacturers should offer it … except that this is obviously not the case.
The application
A word also on the Tesla application which is a real extension of its experience with the car and which quickly becomes essential, whether we like it or not. It makes it possible to see remotely where the car is parked, but also the autonomy (in % and in kilometers), to open the chests or to view in real time, via sentinel mode, if a curious or A bad driver would not be too close to your car. But the must nevertheless, especially with the arrival of cold temperatures, is to heat the passenger compartment (and the seats, individually) a few minutes before taking your car, whether live or programming every day to the same time. Or even degrees remotely !
Tesla Model y Propulsion (2022) driving aid
While waiting for the Tesla Vision
Before taking the road in this propulsion model, we must get out of parking. And there, we take the controversy in recent weeks which concerns the model, and more generally the whole range: the absence of ultrasonic sensors, and therefore the Tesla Vision system based on cameras and supposed replace them. It is said to be “supposed” because for the moment, it is a return at the time when it was necessary only to yourself, to your vision in space, and to your feeling to park ! A little frustrating for a vehicle at € 50,000 (and a fortiori for the more expensive versions).
In itself, the remaining rear view camera, the side cameras too, and the exterior mirrors falling automatically, there is still enough to insure without bumping the car or making a rim (whose outline is not protected by the enjolive). It is for the front that it is more Sioux: we do not see the front of the hood, which is incidentally one of the most sensitive parts of the body, without protective plastic but directly the paint. So be careful !
Beyond the absence of the sensors and the embarrassment (slight) during certain maneuvers, what disturbs the most is that customers find themselves playing the “beta testers”, the guinea pigs, for the ex Palo Alto firm (now in Austin) while waiting for the Tesla Vision which will overcome is deployed. At the risk of damaging their car ! We therefore look forward to the update that will come (when ?) deploy the new system that will allow you to find its “beep beeps” and its visualization of the surrounding obstacles on the screen, so secure.
Standard autopilot
For the rest, the Tesla Model Y Propulsion does not care on any driving help (adaptive cruise control, keeping in the track, emergency braking …): what is called autopilot is standard. On the other hand, it will be necessary to pay € 3,800 to have the improved autopilot (change of automatic track, automatic parking, etc.) or even € 7,500 for the entirely autonomous driving capacity. But while waiting for European and French laws to authorize it, it may be a bit premature to increase the bill by 15 % for that ..
Tesla Model y Propulsion (2022) Conduite
Once passed the apprehension of rubbing the front shield passed, it left for a stretch at the wheel of the least powerful of Tesla. And let it be said right away, it is not particularly felt. The 0 to 100 km/h is announced in 6.9 seconds, against 6.1 seconds for a model 3 propulsion: indeed, we feel this model a little heavier (150 kilos difference) but the difference is quite insignificant.
Rest assured, the tesla “feeling” is there, with what it has a power, we are talking about a power of around 300 horsepower, as if a giant hand accompanied us vigor. We say well “accompanied” because there is no “kick” effect, the giant hand pushes us more than it would hit us dryly. We are talking about the standard driving mode here, which is accompanied by a softer “comfort” mode, which grows less strong. But even using the latter and forcing it a little, insertions become child’s play.
Regarding management, three modes are available: comfort, standard and sport. The first is suitable for all everyday situations, while the other two do not stand out clearly from each other, both offering a firmer response from the steering wheel. Whatever the mode chosen, the direction is precise and the steering wheel therefore the diameter seems relatively small, gives a good feeling of handling, with a sports feeling.
Obviously what matters to know is if this propulsion version, two driving wheels therefore, holds the pavement compared to a tmy great autonomy for example and its two engines and four -wheel drive. And it must be admitted that by pressing the pedal strongly, in standard mode in particular, you can feel a slight drop in the rear which is immediately caught up. Nothing trashy but it is advisable not to press too brutally on the right pedal, especially at the outlet of the turn or on a roundabout (and a fortiori on wet roads).
We always appreciate the regenerative braking, especially in town with the Rampage mode which allows you to roll without touching the brake pedal. It is of course necessary with flexible driving, anticipating braking, but the car can go as far as stopping simply by lifting the foot of the accelerator pedal. Small downside for passengers who suffer this mode a little with total absence of free wheel, and therefore tremors: we therefore take the game to have the right foot more and more light to make driving more flexible for everyone.
Last word on depreciation. Elon Musk had confirmed the arrival of new suspensions, but it would seem that these first models have not yet benefited from it. Compared to the large autonomy version, this youngest did not appear to us changed and remains a little dry on degraded roads, even with the 19 -inch rims.
Tesla Model y Propulsion (2022) Autonomy, battery and recharge
The LFP battery of the new Tesla Model Y propulsion is given for 60 kWh and announces a 455 km WLTP autonomy (estimate, pending homologation). In the car, it is displayed with the EPA standard, but when it is 100 %loaded, the maximum autonomy displayed is 418 km. Whatever the figure, it is the lowest in the Tesla range.
We are obviously below what the Tesla Model 3 Propulsion affects which is 491 km in WLTP due to a higher weight, more generous dimensions and a raised position that does not promote the windfall. A TMY great autonomy, despite 70 kilos more displayed on the scale, announces 533 km WLTP.
The fact remains that consumption on the journey of our test, mixing city, highway and national, remains relatively measured: we have made 373 km, the average is displayed at 158 Wh/km, or 15.8 kWh/100 km. All at temperatures between 5 and 14 degrees.
Special mention, moreover, to a very interesting function in the car, which allows you to display on the screen, with a very readable graphic, which has consumed the most in the car during the last trips: driving obviously, but also The weight of air conditioning, pre-converting, altitude or rest (screen, wireless recharge, USB ports, etc.) in consumption. Advice is displayed to maximize his driving, but also a comparison between the actual energy consumed and the estimate.
Like the sedan in its entry -level version, the Tesla Model also displays a maximum recharge of 170 kW, against 250 kW for the upper versions. As for access to supercomposes, it is paid (with variations in price between stations but also linked to energy prices), and you can see directly on the screen the price of each station.
Of course, a clear and precise planning of the journeys is in the. If the itinerary planner is still as well done, there is always the problem of the impossibility of indicating the percentage of the desired battery on arrival (or at a load station).
