In addition to popular operating systems like Windows, Mac and Linux, there are other application environments that allow programs to be run on a computer. This is particularly the case of chrome OS, developed by Google, which is mainly found on chromebooks, laptops with or without touch screen.

There has recently been a new operating system, called Chrome OS Flex, which can settle on “standard” computers and not only chromebooks. The particularity of these operating systems is to be not only free and light, but above all to offer an application environment mainly based on the web. You will therefore have the web browser Google Chrome and a few essential programs for the functioning of the computer but that’s all. Thus, you will need to use web services only not only with Google services, but also with all kinds of online services. However, note that Chrome OS supports Android applications, unlike Chrome OS Flex.

By deploying Chrome OS Flex, Google seeks to provide a free, fast and simple solution to set up for schools and businesses, with aging computer share, too expensive to renew, but still working well enough to navigate and work on the Internet.
