The retail bank braking Société Générale in France

The bank returned to the green in the second quarter, a year after the loss due to the sale of its subsidiary in Russia. But it undergoes the slowdown in activity in France, with margins compressed by the increase in rates.

It is a unique publication for Société Générale. The French bank unveiled this Thursday morning its first financial results of the Krupa era, after taking office of the new boss last May. The group returned to the profits in the second quarter, with a net profit from the group of 900 million euros, one year after the loss suffered by the precipitated exit of Russia and the sale of its subsidiary Rosbank.

But revenues fell 8.9 % to fall back to 6.29 billion euros, sealed in particular by the retail bank in France and a less favorable context in market activities.
