Design and dimensions of Smart #1
Defined a line on micro-city vehicles, Smart offers its new model much more generous dimensions. Presented in the form of a concept in September 2021 at the Munich Salon, the Smart #1 is closer to the size of a mini countrymanman. Spread over 4.27 meters in length, it offers a generous wheelbase of 2.75 m.

Motorization and performance of Smart #1
The new Smart electric car is available in two major technical configurations.
Already particularly muscular, the basic version accumulates 272 horsepower of power and 343 nm of torque.

By alternating current, the #1 receives an on -board charger of 7.4 kW in the basic version which will increase to 22 kW for the higher -end versions.
For the continuous current load, the electric SUV of Smart has a combo connector. Capable of climbing up to 150 kW, it allows recharging from 0 to 80 % in approximately 30 minutes.
Marketing and prices

The presentation does not suffer from any major criticism. The materials are rather of good quality (except the hard plastics of the offices), the precise adjustments and the drawing of the dashboard very gently recalls the silhouette of the vehicle. A simple and ergonomic universe where the small 9.2 ” info-divisional screen (supported by a head-up display from the second level of finish) distills the main information.
For the rest, it will be necessary to turn to the central screen of 12.8 ” which controls almost everything on the car . Whether it is the air conditioning settings, the mirrors, the opening of the trunk, the different levels of energy recovery or the navigation and the aids to the driving. A bit like at Tesla but much less easy to use. Too bad because the colorful display, the globe with almost childish drawing and the animated fox have the merit of making the info-draft more original.
A somewhat gourmet urban
Technically too, the #1 is original. Based on the SAE platform of the Chinese manufacturer (which will also equip future Volvo), the smart is surprisingly powerful since it develops 272 horsepower (343 nm of torque) in its basic version in propulsion and up to 428 horses (543 nm ) thanks to the two engines and the all -wheel drive of La Brabus. Enough to take off from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.9 seconds . Unheard of with a smart !
Indeed, the #1 Brabus is a small rocket, ready to jump at the slightest acceleration to sneak into traffic. Especially since her careful damping (except a few percussion with the premium finish) and her good soundproofing, coupled with a very natural driving position make her very pleasant to drive in the urban centers . Brabus but not sporty
