Samsung Galaxy A14 4G The strengths
In our eyes, the Galaxy A14 4G has indisputable strengths that justify its purchase. The first we think is stupid, but it is its price. This contained price owes a lot to the choice of chip made by Samsung, a Helio G80 engraved in 12 nm, where the 5G model has a much more recent exynos 1330 chip engraved in 5 nm. This is due to the fact that there are hardly more new specialized chips only on 4G.
Second main interest in this Galaxy A14 4G: its One UI interface (Android 13) among the best on the market. So certainly, you have a less swift version here, but most of the interesting features are there. We find for example the customizable locking screen, very practical modes and routines or the possibility of creating a floating window of a gesture. On the other hand, everything is jerky and sometimes a little broken. But if you are patient, you have something to play.
As a number of entry -level smartphones, the Samsung Galaxy A14 4G incorporates a 3.5 mm jack port. Very useful for those attached to the helmets and wired headphones. Always on design, we can still recognize him an honorable level of finish. The textured back with vertical streaks is still very pleasant, just like the alignment of the three photo modules on the back, the rounded slices.
On paper, one of the interesting elements of this smartphone is undoubtedly its 5,000 mAh battery. This one, coupled with an energy-consuming configuration, much guarantees use over a day. We can even have fun tickling the additional day.
In picture, The Galaxy A14 4G, offers honorable quality for a smartphone at 200 euros. We find a perfectly correct dive (as long as we do not zoom in), the portrait mode is suitable. More than anything, we find this samsung leg, especially on colorimetric treatment. And that’s enough to make the clichés rather pleasant to the eye.
Ultra Grand Angle is much dull, however and lacks a little detail. At least the latter has the merit of existing and offering interesting angles of view.
Samsung Galaxy A14 4G The Weak Points
The first of the reasons that should make you think before buying this smartphone is its level of its performance. He wowed a lot. Of course, it remains possible to use the Galaxy A14 4G, but it is done at the cost of a slightly frustrating wait. In addition, if he supports little gourmet 3D games like Pokemon Unite, Do not expect to launch titles like Fortnite, The phone does not support them.
Second big black point: the screen is based here on LCD technology. However, this is increasingly exceeded … OLED technology offers many more advantages and visual comfort. The screen being a central element of the experience of the smartphone, we would advise you to think carefully before opting for a smartphone with an LCD slab.

Especially since it has a refresh rate of only 60 Hz only, which further accentuates the impression of jerk. Let us also add the presence of fairly visible borders and a rather unsightly notch, which takes up space on the screen.
Last purely technical stumbling block, but important: there are only 64 GB of storage. With an interface that already takes 17.11 GB, it can go very quickly and you will quickly feel cramped.
Samsung Galaxy A14 4G What is the price of the Samsung Galaxy A14 4G 4G ?
The Samsung Galaxy A14 4G was released at 219 euros, but is easily located below 200 euros.
Samsung Galaxy A14 5G test: an entry -level chick model
Entry -level of the new family of Samsung smartphones, the Galaxy A14 5G is struggling to really convince despite its displayed ambitions. Few mobile terminals are less than 250 €, but they generally benefit from an asset. It’s a little harder for this.
Presentation
Since 2019, the first semester has been two things for Samsung on the smartphones market. First, it starts with the Galaxy S to open the year properly. Then, place in the middle and entry level with the Galaxy A, heirs of the famous Galaxy J. The spearhead of this family is none other than the Galaxy A54 5G, but it is the Galaxy A14 5G that interests us here – note that a 4G version exists, a little cheaper.
Launched at € 249 in its 64 GB version, the Samsung Galaxy A14 costs € 299 with 128 GB of memory. This price places the smartphone against the Oppo A57, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 11s and the Galaxy A23.
Ergonomics and design
Difficult not to notice the effort made by Samsung on the design of this entry -level device. The back takes up the codes of the premium models of the manufacturer with the same arrangement of the photo modules which sprinkle elegantly from the shell. Even the finish is not so “simple”. It is textured and visibly more worked than expected in this tariff bracket. A good special point for the green finish of our test model, which gives it a certain charm.
But with regard to an entry -level smartphone, it is therefore necessary to count on a plastic chassis and a screen adopting large borders, as well as a notch -shaped notch a bit dated. It is all the more regrettable that competition offers smartphones within 250 € enjoying more elegance and finesse. The slab occupies just over 80 % of the front surface, not really helped by a large chin.
On the right edge, we find the slot which allows to accommodate two SIM cards and a microSD card. In contrast, the volume controls and the start button. The latter also serves as a fingerprint reader, because only the more expensive series hide this type of sensor under their screen. Finally, a speaker, a USB-C port and a 3.5 mm micro-jack port take place on the lower edge.
Audio
The Galaxy A14 5G has a mini-jack socket which completes its Bluetooth 5 connectivity.2. This offers quite sufficient power, even if we regret a slightly weak dynamic range. Remember that the headphones are not provided with the smartphone.

Screen
At less than 250 €, Samsung does not include an OLED panel to its smartphones, which is more and more often competition. The 6.6 -inch display is therefore a LCD slab with the Full HD+ definition (2408 x 1080 pixels) and at the 20: 9 ratio with a 90 Hz refreshment rate (non -adaptive).
This screen is not wonderful. It is even less good than that of the Galaxy A13, to our amazement. Colorimetry is strawberries and it is impossible to adjust it in the parameters. Thus, the color temperature amounts to more than 9000 k and the delta e reaches 4.9. We tried to correct this by activating the visual comfort mode, but nothing helps. Admittedly, the color temperature is much better, but the delta e takes off over 8 and the contrast decreases too drastically. It will therefore be necessary to deal with a display with too cold colors, but also saturated. On the other hand, we appreciate its contrast of 1501: 1, very honorable for the category.
