Rhinoshield: a personalized military grade protective shell

Rhinoshield is a manufacturer who has now been a great reputation in the field of smartphones accessories, and in particular protective shells for Apple and Samsung. But the expert in protective shells has since clearly widened its range of devices, from OnePlus to Huawei, via Google pixels. We find there the “classic” ranges, but we can also opt for a personalized protective shell with its own patterns if you wish … We had presented the Rhinoshield brand two years ago, including a test of their shells Mod NX and SolidSuit for iPhone X at the time, as well as their modular objectives system.

The same system of objectives could be used with my Samsung S9+, practical to enjoy an ultra -wide angle lens, or on the contrary of a telephoto lens.

In search of a quality protection shell for my northern oneplus, I realized a little by chance that Rhinoshield also offered this brand, in addition to many other added to its catalog for two years.

But above all, the manufacturer offers the possibility of making a personalized protective shell !

A personalized protective shell

Carrying out a personalized smartphone protective shell is not new in itself, many companies have launched on this market for several years. For example, I had made one here for my Samsung S9+, via a service that automatically resumed the information on our social networks:

I used this model to make a small personalized protective shell for my northern oneplus.

The print quality is top, and seems of quality. I have been using it for a good month now, the smartphone dragged in my pockets, I regularly put it on the hull side on furniture, desk, etc. No trace to report, despite a good part of the printing is white.

As always at Rhinoshield, the cutouts are perfect, the orifices being well suited to the different buttons or connectors:

Ditto camera side at the back. The shell creating a small overlay, the objectives are now protected, while they were the first to be in contact with the surface when I put the smartphone on the desktop for example.

Same observation side side: a small over-thickness prevents the screen from being in direct contact with the surface, thus protecting it in the event of a fall.

Of course, it has a cost: it will take € 34.99 for such a shell here. Knowing that the “normal” shell, without personalization, already costs € 29.99, the additional personalization remains very reasonable. But here we have a real protective shell, whose technology has been tested. No need for compromise, therefore, to choose between protection and customization: Rhinoshield combines both, and that we will appreciate !

FYI the manufacturer also offers screen protections compatible with their shells, just to ensure total protection 🙂

Used to protect an iPhone XS. For me there is nothing better to effectively protect an iPhone. I had the same for my previous iPhone 7 and despite the falls, the screen has never been broken (or the contours). The only flaws for me is that there are a lot of dust that lodges on the banks of the Tel: on the bors of the screen (between the screen and the protection) + at the level of the speaking holes and the lightning lightning. Obliged to remove the shell from time to time to clean, however attention once in place it is very difficult to remove the shell. Otherwise the real disappointment for me is that I chose the “leather” shell thinking given the price that there would be a good leather thickness but disappointment, in fact it is so fine (the leather area is just the back of the shell) that it looks like plastic. I find that the price difference is too important between the plastic version is that in “leather”.
Despite that I prefer these little defects but effectively protect my such.

The shell is quite easy to put on an iPhone XS and makes the phone not too bulky/heavy.
And indeed, this shell should protect the phone in the event of a fall but I hope that I never have to check it.
On the other hand, to remove it, there I do not understand. (I needed to put the protective window that I received later than the hull).
It’s very, very, very. hard . (I even looked at a rhino tutorial where it did not seem so difficult to withdraw, but it was not the solidit as if by chance).
Frankly, I ask myself the question of keeping it if I can again withdraw it. And I do not know why it is not seen by Rhino such a prroblubeme, especially given the price paid. (Apparently I am not the only one)

Received on time and well wrapped.

The shell is shown on images (carbon finish shell).
This is semi-rigid (or flexible. Half emptiness Toussa Toussa glass) and really seems to be quality! In my hands in any case I really have the feeling that my phone is well protected.
Like the other opinions, in shell is simple to set up but a real mission to withdraw. So clearly not to handle every day.

A small reproach all the same, the back remains quite slippery despite the strives of the finish. But really nothing unacceptable to me.

If you want to buy 3D tempered glass protection from the brand, I advise you to be careful at the time of its installation. The shell being very tight and the glass really adjusted to the millimeter, if you make a misstep you may take off your precious glass freshly installed (and paid the eyes of the head) with the risk of putting dust and bubbles.
