How to check that Windows 10 is still present ?

• Open the file explorer, then click on This PC in the left shutter. Now open the disc VS: (or the volume that contains the system). The old version of Windows is in a file called Windows.Old nestled at the start of the starter disk. • A new window appears. The reasons you want to abandon Windows 11 are listed there and return to Windows 10. Check the box that best suits your situation (you can also choose several reasons) and click on Following.

• Microsoft seeks to make you stay on Windows 11 and offers to search for the latest updates available likely to improve the system. If you are determined to return to Windows 10, click on No thanks.

• Microsoft informs you of the consequences of this backtracking. In particular the fact that you will have to reinstall certain applications and that you will be partially deleted. He also invites you to make a backup of your data – in case – which remains excellent advice. If everything seems ready, click on Following.

• Last tip: remember the session password you use with Windows 10 before update to Windows 11. Click on Following.

• Finally click the button Return to Windows 10.

• The PC restarts and the restoration of Windows 10 starts. It may require several minutes.

Note that once the 10 days have passed, you can always return to Windows 10, but it will be a little more difficult. You will need to save your data and do what Microsoft calls a “clean installation” of Windows 10 on your PC. You can also create an image of your system before installation and restore it later.

Remember that if you wish, you can stay under Windows 10 for an additional four years until Microsoft stops taking care of it in October 2025. If the 10 -day countdown seems new, it is because Windows 10 was initially launched with a 30 -day window to facilitate returns behind.
