The price of replacing the battery of your iPhone has increased, here are the new prices

As Apple has already pointed out in January of this year, the price of replacing certain iPhone batteries – and batteries of certain other Apple devices – has just increased.

If you have an iPhone X, an iPhone 11, an iPhone 12 or an iPhone 13, the cost of replacing the battery by Apple is now € 99 instead of € 75. For iPhone 14 series, the cost remains € 119, as is the case since the launch. Replacement of the iPhone SE, iPhone 8 battery and previous models went from 55 to 79 €.

However, Apple specifies that iPhones remain “eligible for a battery replacement at no additional cost if you have Applecare+ and that the battery of your product contains less than 80 % of its original capacity”. IOS users can check the current battery capacity via settings> Battery> Battery health.

The cost of replacing the battery of an iPad also increased

Apple announced in January on its assistance page for replacing the battery: “Current fees for battery service excluding warranty will apply until the end of February 2023. As of March 1, 2023, the out -of -warranty battery service fees will be increased by 20 euros for all iPhone models prior to the iPhone 14.””

The cost of replacing the battery of an iPad increased by 20 euros for certain models. The price increase applies to the iPad Pro 12.9 inches (5th generation and anterior), the 11 -inch iPad Pro (3rd generation and anterior), the 10.5 inch iPad Pro, the 9.7 -inch iPad Pro, the mini iPad (6th generation and anterior) and the iPad Air (5th generation and anterior).

Apple also increased by 30 euros to replace the MacBook Air battery, while the price of all MacBook and MacBook Pro models increased by 50 euros. Previously, the replacement of the battery for all the MacBook Air until the last 2022 m2 model was 129 euros. The price of replacement of the battery for this model is € 199.

I would buy a cell phone from another brand for less than the iPhone battery change price. And to free myself from a monopoly.

@ Yveslegault:
Change brand to have the possibility of buying cheaper equipment, certainly.

But to change the smartphone to escape Apple claws would amount to falling into those of Google, which represents a much larger monopoly. It would fall from Charybde to Scylla, as the other would say.

It still remains (but for how long ?) the solution to abandon the smartphone in favor of a keys phone for its calls and an independent terminal more bulky for its internet access. But we no longer really deal with the same uses.
