You do not have to provide proof of the existence of the lack of conformity of the used product the first 12 months following its delivery. After this period, it is up to you to demonstrate that the defect already existed at the time of the sale.

What is Orange’s strategy in terms of circular economy ?

Orange is committed to reducing its impact on natural resources since COP21 in 2015, integrating the principles of the circular economy in its processes: eco -design, repair, increase in the life of products, reconditioning, collection or recycling.

Result ? At the end of 2019, 15 million terminals were collected across Europe. In addition, the carbon footprint of the Livebox 5 is reduced by 29% compared to that of the Livebox 4, thanks to its smaller and lighter format, to the presence of recycled plastic, and the number of components reduced to the interior.

By 2025, Orange intends to continue its approach, by devoting in particular 10% of its sales to reconditioned products, and by collecting at least 30% of the volumes of its sales per year, in all European countries where the brand is implanted.

Why Orange is engaged in the collection and recycling of mobiles ?

Orange is aware that it is possible to significantly reduce the ecological impact of mobile phones, while meeting the new requirements of “consumers-citizens”.

Orange undertakes in particular to make products from recycled materials, to participate in the effort to collect used phones and to design reparable, durable and recyclable mobiles. As a business, Orange thus wishes to assume its social responsibility by integrating the circular economy within its professions and processes.

What is the Re program ?

Launched in October 2020 in France, the RE program aims to promote recycling, recovery or purchase of reconditioned, for more responsible consumption of your phones. Orange indeed offers to recycle your old phones, resume your old phones, estimate their value and give them a second life. A wide range of reconditioned mobiles is also offered. The objectives of the RE program are detailed in the 2025 plan plan.

What are the news provided by the Re program ?

Orange’s engagement for the collection and recycling of used mobiles is not new today, the first actions having been carried out in 2003. However, the Re program gives new impetus to this approach, with two major innovations. On the one hand, the reconditioned mobiles are now sold in the Orange store also (more only online). On the other hand, a space dedicated to the RE program is available in Orange smartstore stores: visitors can drop their old phones in a collection tray and discover all recycling, recovery and purchase of reminded mobiles.

Orange is The only operator in Europe to have deployed a solidarity recycling collection sector For movables from start to finish. The principle combines environmental protection and support for the social and solidarity economy. For this, the operator works in partnership with Emmaüs International. In France, all the benefits of recycling is donated to the association.
