From September 19, 2023, the different temporary driving license models of category B can be requested online. You just have to withdraw your provisional driving license from your municipality. You can submit the request via your smartphone, your PC, your laptop or your tablet.

What do you need to submit your provisional driver’s license online 18 months?

  • The certificate of success of the theoretical examination B category B (provided by the driving license examination center) where you will find information relating to the reading test;
  • The certificate of aptitude issued by a driving school (8 p.m.) in Flanders or Brussels, or in Wallonia by the driving license. It is best to take a photo or to scan this certificate of aptitude before launching the application.,

What do you need to submit your 36-month provisional driving license online online?

  • To request a provisional driving license M36, the guide must first register on the site https: // beldrive.apps.mobile.fgov.be/

This is done through their eid or itssme. In the request, they will have to indicate for whom they want to be a guide and will therefore need your name, first name and number of the national register (as it appears on the back of your identity card).

  • -The certificate of success in the theoretical examination of category B (issued by the driving license examination center) indicating the result of the reading test

What do you need to submit your request for a provisional driving license online 12 months?

  • To request a M12 provisional driving license, the guides must first register on the https: // Beldrive site.apps.mobile.fgov.be/

This is done through their eid or itssme. In the request, they will have to indicate for anyone they want to be a guide and will therefore need your name, first name and national registration number (as it appears your identity card).

  • Your theoretical examination is still valid (3 years)
  • The certificate issued by a driving school recognized for 6 hours of driving. The date of the first lesson must be after the expiration of the validity of your previous provisional driving license M36 or M18.

It is best to take a photo or to scan this driving school certificate before starting the request.

How to get your provisional driving license ?

You can get your provisional driving license by succeeding inTheoretical driving examination, that you can pass from the age of 17 years.

The theoretical examination has exactly 50 questions for which you should get to Minimum 41 out of 50 to succeed. Since June 1, 2017, a distinction has been established between serious offenses and the light the theoretical examination. In case of serious fault (ex. : offense of the third or fourth degree), we will withdraw five points. A light fault will cost you a point. You can therefore make a maximum of nine light mistakes or a serious offense and four light faults.

You have passed your theoretical examination ? You will receive a certificate to present to the municipality of your home to request your provisional permit. You will then have to make a choice between the following two options:

1. Provisional permit with guide (valid 36 months)

  • You can designate a maximum of two guides (each of the guides must hold a Belgian or European B license for at least eight years and may not have been condemned to a decline in the right to drive in the past three years)
  • You cannot convey passengers (only your two guides)
  • You must ride with an L
  • You cannot drive between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and (watch) Legal holidays

2. Provisional permit without guide (valid 18 months)

  • You have to follow 20 hours of practical lessons
  • You can drive alone once the driving school has issued you a certificate of aptitude with which you will ask for your provisional license
  • You must ride with an L
  • You cannot drive between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and (watch) Legal holidays

What to do after obtaining your provisional license ?

You have received your provisional permit to the municipality ? It’s time to train yourself to drive on public roads.

Driving not being within the reach of the firstcomer, it is important to exercise enough. You can always follow an additional curriculum such as defensive driving training, in order to learn to control your vehicle better.

As soon as you reach the age of 18 and have followed at least nine months of driving training, you can take your practical examination. If you succeed, you will receive a certificate allowing you to request your driving license.
