Mini unveils its new Cooper model is

The mini original, designed by Sir Alec Issigonis, was born from the oil shortage caused by the Suez crisis and the demand for affordable automobiles. The first mini made in Oxford in the summer of 1959 marked the start of a “success story” which will extend over six decades.

For its 60th anniversary, Mini takes a new step towards its next generation of vehicles, by offering for the first time a 100% electric model.
The style of the Mini Cooper is very close to that of Mini Hatch. Based on the 3 -door version, the electric model is distinguished by 4 -branch rims or an almost full grille. The charging plug is above the right rear wheel, where the fuel hatch is located on thermal motor models.

Its electric motor produces 135 kW / 184 hp and maximum torque of 270 Nm. The announced performance will seduce drivers in urban constraints: 3.9s to reach 60 km/h. Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h is 7.3s. The maximum speed is limited to 150 km/h.

The lithium-ion battery specific to the model offers a range of 235 to 270 kilometers. It is located in the vehicle floor, not starting the trunk loading volume compared to a mini 3 thermal doors.

Recharge on a quick terminal allows you to recover 80% autonomy in 40 minutes. The Mini Cooper draws its energy from the electrical network, to which it can be connected either by a domestic socket, or via the Wallbox Mini Electric, or on public charging stations.
