As for the H1N1 virus, we started working with renowned partners to prove the efficiency of our air purifiers to eliminate coronavirus aerosols. Previously, thanks to independent tests, Philips proved that its air purifiers reduced by 99.9 % the concentration of aerosols of the Vilation A virus (H1N1) in the air crossing the filter.

How have we tested the performance of Philips Air Purifiers against the H1N1 virus ?
Dublin Airmid Healthgroup Airmid Healthgroup has tested the effectiveness of Philips Air Purifiers against Viruses. They generated an H1N1 influenza virus aerosol in a 28.5 m3 test chamber and analyzed the number of viruses in the atmosphere of the test chamber during the test. Airmid noted that the Philips air purifier has reduced the amount of H1N1 virus suspended in the air by more than 99.9 % in 20 to 40 minutes, depending on the rate of pure air diffusion (CADR) of the model of the model tested.
Will viruses propagate again from the filter ?
Once the viruses are captured by the filter, they naturally become inactive. Depending on the room temperature, it can take from a few minutes to several hours. It is unlikely that viruses can spread again from the filter.
Our HEPA filter has a high capacity in terms of particles and is designed to effectively capture particles as small as 0.003 micron which will be filtered during its lifetime. For best results, we recommend that consumers change the filter when it has reached the end of its lifespan.

How can I ensure good maintenance of the filter of my Philips air purifier ?

How can I throw the Philips filter ?
We recommend that you throw the filter in a disposable bag, then wash your hands for at least 20 seconds, following the advice of your local health authority on the handling of potentially infected surfaces.
The frame is the volume of filtered air emitted by an air purifier. This is a measurement of the cleaning speed and a reflection of the air flow multiplied by the effectiveness of the filter.
