Peugeot E-208 at 150 € per month without contribution: where is confusion ?

Peugeot launches a long-term rental offer on the E-208, without contribution, with a rent starting at 150 €. Obviously, certain conditions must be fulfilled, and add the kilometric cost. Which makes it less accessible than announced.

The electric version of the Peugeot 208 already represented almost 20 % of the Lioness registrations last year. Sign, finally, that the sauce took at Peugeot and with a city dweller of 136 hp and with a 50 kWh battery. But to further boost sales and lower the annual CO2 averages faster, Stellantis is now launching a program called “Electric as you go”. Available for three models at the start (Peugeot E-208, Opel Corsa E and Opel Mokka E), this is a leasing contract developed by the company’s e-mobility branch, with PSA Banque and Opel Bank, respective funding organizations for this long -term rental on enticing paper. But is it really it ?

How to benefit from the offer ?

So you have read correctly: Since yesterday, the French network Peugeot has offered the E-208 to € 150 per month, without contribution. The only constraint is to make “at least” 500 km per month. Better still, the French brand “offers” € 500 in addition ! But to achieve such an amount, you have guessed it, you must combine the aid. Initially, the contribution is € 10,500. An obviously colossal envelope, but reduced to € 4,500 thanks to the CO2 bonus of € 6,000. It will still be necessary to receive the vehicle fairly quickly, since the bonus is calculated at the time of invoicing which is often done on delivery. The aid of € 6,000 has still been extended until December 31, But check that your Peugeot dealer can deliver an E-208 to you before the end of the year.

The remaining € 4,500 are offset by the conversion bonus, compulsory to take advantage of this leasing offer in the form of a long -term rental. Clearly, if you do not have a petrol (before 2006) or Diesel (before 2011) vehicle to take over, go your way. Currently, there are two different bonuses: € 5,000 for tax reference income below € 13,489 and € 2,500 for all those who have a higher RFR.

If you have done the calculation, you have the following result: € 10,500 – € 6,000 (bonus) – € 5,000 (conversion bonus) = € 500 of “gift” from Peugeot, and not d ‘bring. Obviously, if you are too “rich” to take advantage of the maximum conversion bonus, you will have to pay € 2,000 of initial contribution.

How much will the Peugeot E-208 cost you ?

Monthly payments are explained as follows. The basis of the leasing contract is 110 € per month, to which must be added a cost per kilometer of 0.07 €. Clearly, for 500 km monthly (the minimum to go, we remind you), you arrive at this famous monthly payment of € 150, excluding charging prices (around 8 € on an E-208, on domestic socket in full hour )). The remote connectivity of the E-208 allows the brand to charge you according to your monthly mileage. Based on 15,000 km per year, a value close to the French average, the E-208 will come back to you at € 200 per month. On the other hand, This LLD only extends over 24 months. But it is ultimately more interesting than the classic LLD offer on the E-208 (€ 290/month, 40,000 km, 49 months, without contribution). Finally, you will have to turn a car to go to a leasing contract for barely two years, without anything at the end since it is not with option to buy. Maybe it’s the most annoying.
