It is during the month of July that the lion city car will pass the torch to a variant 2.0, four years after its launch. A facelift which we had finally had an overview last spring, when the sailing of his big brother, the Peugeot 2008. Indeed, we suspected that these two models would once again share body elements, in order to reduce costs. A supposition today confirmed by the distribution, on social networks, of clichés probably made on the mounting chain of the 208, by an indelicate employee.
2008
Thus, the Retyulated Peugeot 208 inherits the headlights of the new 2008, as well as the optical blocks incorporating the trio of light claws. Fortunately, the similarities stop there, the cities chip benefiting from a specific shield surmounted by a brand new grille. With a redrawn pattern, it serves as a backdrop for the logo inaugurated by the 308 in 2021, and which it was happening so far. Finally, note that this new prow is adorned with the typography broken for the first time by the restyled Peugeot 508, last spring.
A 208. “crazy” ?
In profile, no upcoming revolution, except for new rims. Hopefully, unlike prototypes recently immortalized by scoop hunters, the Peugeot renounces the Opel Corsa rims which were chapus. Unfortunately, at Stellantis, the game of “musical wheels” seems to become a national sport. At the launch of the DS 4, for example, the entry -level of the latter had not found better than recycling utility hubcaps, simply rebadged. More recently, we realized that the Opel Mokka and DS 3 had simply put on Citroën C4 rims. Therefore, it would not be surprised that the 208 grabbed the wheels of its German cousin, by excess of synergies.
All claws outside
Finally, a second photo emerged on social networks and other media specialized in car scoops. This highlights the 3/4 rear of the new 208 to show new lights with horizontal light signatures form three claws in the extension of the smoked headband connecting each optics. Within it, the Peugeot lettering thickened to blend into the mass, while the logo that overlooks the trunk disappears purely and simply. At the same time, the e-20 monogram also evolves graphic design side.
More spectacular under the hood
The arrival of this new Peugeot 208 will be accompanied by unpublished engines. Namely an electric block of 156 hp fueled by a 54 kWh battery capable of browsing more than 400 km at La Citadine. However, to further broaden its field of action, the heat engines hybridized to 48V will be allocated to it, with the key levels of power of 100 and 136 hp. We will know more in the course of July, when the whole new range is revealed, while the marketing period will probably take place in November. Let us expect, by the way, to a slight financial inflation.

The Peugeot 208 dominates its competitor in the diamond, it was the best -selling car in Europe in 2021 and 2022, just that ! And with this mid-career restyling, the lioness still plans to talk about it by offering a makeover and advanced technologies.
When you look at it, it is impossible to miss the new light signature that we had discovered with the Peugeot 508 and 2008 restyled. The designers have also changed the headlights, the grille and the front shield which now incorporates new fog lights. In the rear part, the changes are less marked, even if again, the signature of the lights has evolved to integrate three horizontal red claws.
This 208 strengthens its identity with new badges sporting a typography and a gray basalt shade. In the rear part for example, the Peugeot monogram now occupies the entire width of the trunk shutter strip. Peugeot took advantage of this restyling to offer its bestseller new bodywork colors, including Agueda yellow and Selenium gray.
A more opulent interior
In the passenger compartment, the emblematic Peugeot I-Cockpit remains at the heart of the driving experience. Positioned at the driver’s eyes, it is now available in digital version on the TAP and GT versions, with a 3D serial display on the GT version. On the active version, the 208 keeps an analog instrument handset with a 3.5 -inch color screen.
This 208 is also equipped with a large 10 -inch central touch screen, which is now standard on all versions. This screen allows you to easily control the latest generation of Peugeot, such as the Peugeot I-Connect and the Peugeot I-Convanced Peugeotd. The piano keys, located under the central screen, offer rapid access to the main functions. Finally, the 208 takes advantage of new fabrics and a black Alcantara upholstery with optional green adamite stitching on the GT version.
