Age level for Blu-ray and DVD Video discs

If your child is likely to look at content via Blu-ray or DVD, you can define limits for the content he is allowed to look.

Use of PlayStation VR

Since the VR is not appropriate for young children, most platforms suggest 13+ and PlayStation suggesting 12+, if your child is younger, you can limit his access to the VR, if necessary.

Internet browser use

If you don’t want your child to use the console as an internet browser, you can deactivate this option.

Step 4 – Highlight Confirm and press X To select.
Step 5 – Choose if your child can access the PlayStation Network. If you do this, be sure to configure checks in the PSN.

Restrict the use of applications and peripherals

Parental control allows you to restrict the use of the Internet browser by children, as well as games or videos on discs with age restrictions. Select a user from (settings)> [family control/family management], then choose the restrictions you want to apply to this user.

You can also define restrictions for other users than family members who have never connected to PlayStation ™ Network.

Age limit for games

The combination of the parental control level that you have set for each child on your PS4 ™ system and the level of parental control for the game limit the games to which the child can play.
For example, if you want to restrict the use of a game with a “4” parental control level, define the parental control level of your PS4 ™ system on the lower figure “3”. By defining the level of parental control on your PS4 ™ system on “3”, users will not be able to play games whose level is “4” or more.

Verification of parental control levels for games

Disk games are sold in packaging labeled with information on the classification level. For the games you buy and download the PlayStation ™ Store, see the game detail page for this information. To understand how the game classification levels correspond to parental control levels, see the table below.
To display on the screen the parental control level of a game, select the game in the content zone, press the Options key, then select [Information]. If a game has age restrictions, the parental control level will appear in the field [parental control].
