Leak: the iPhone 12 see all colors

Overview of the iPhone 12 and the iPhone 12 Pro: Blues name !

Like other first hour customers, we have just received our order from iPhone 12 and 12 Pro from writing. Blue iPhone (and a green), the most popular color to read your comments.

We will not repeat our impressions on the iPhone 12 Pro, you can read them in our preview published this morning. Let’s focus on the iPhone 12 as well as the new blue color, which is not the same at all on both models.

The iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro share the same design and the same dimensions, but not the same finishes or the same colors. This very successful design is clearly inherited from the iPhone 5 and the iPhone 4. No more rounded edges, make way for flat slices that contribute to a grip maybe a little less comfortable (the corner of the terminal no longer marries the hollow of the hand), but firmer.

These borders drawn in the line make the iPhone 12 and the iPhone 12 Pro are smaller than the iPhone 11, which has a screen of the same diagonal (6.1 “). The iPhone 12 is also lighter than the iPhone 11, and it immediately feels in hand (162 g against 194 g).

Being much lighter than an iPhone 11 or even than an iPhone XS (177 g), the iPhone 12 almost gives me the impression of being a little hollow. But this is not a negative point ! I prefer a light iPhone, which will be felt less in the pocket and which will tire the hand less on a daily basis. The iPhone 12 pro (187 g) is heavier than 12, but not as much as the 11, even if the difference is minimal.

If you thought that the 5.8 “of the iPhone X/XS/11 Pro were an unsurpassable size for you, the iPhone 12 could make you review your judgment. Put side by side with the iPhone 11 and the iPhone XS, you might think it has an intermediate size screen, while it has a 6.1 “screen”.

From the front, very clever one who manages to distinguish an iPhone 12 from an iPhone 12 pro. The difference between 11 and an 11 pro was visible for a connoisseur: the borders of the 11 screen were a little thicker and its LCD panel was less contrasting.

None of that in the family of 12, which has identical borders and OLED for everyone. The maximum standard brightness of 12 pro is higher than that of 12 (800 nits against 625 nits), but that did not skip us during this short grip.

On the other hand, when you turn them over, or even when you touch them, you immediately differentiate them. As on the iPhone 11, the standard model has a shiny glass back, when the pro is matt. For fingerprints, advantage in the second, which does not hold any, when the other is brushed very quickly. The polished glass of the iPhone 12 Pro is more serious, more “classy”, but I also find it more slippery (for some, it is the opposite).

The colors are also very different. The blue of the iPhone 12 has nothing to do with the “peaceful blue” of the iPhone 12 Pro. The first is an unprecedented navy blue at Apple. The blue of the iPhone XR or the iPhone 5C was much clearer – and it had my preference, but tastes and colors, it cannot be discussed. Apple chose the blue of PSG rather than that of OM.

The peaceful blue of the iPhone 12 Pro is more discreet, almost extinguished. Depending on the lighting, we even see more shades of gray or green.

As on the previous generation, the frame of the iPhone 12 is made of aluminum (it is therefore mat), while that of 12 pro is made of stainless steel (shiny). The latter is more sensitive to fingerprints and brought out the CE and trash markings – which are therefore no longer on the back. In both cases, the metal is tinted according to the dominant chosen.

Rest assured, it’s not just blue in the new iPhone family ! The iPhone 12 is also offered in black, white, red and green. This green is very pale compared to blue color, as you can see in the photos below.

To conclude this overview, note that the iPhone 12 like the iPhone 12 Pro make us very good impression. The angular design will remind (good) memories to owners of old iPhone. For others, it should be a pleasant discovery.

See you in the coming days to discover these two devices more in depth. Until then, do not hesitate to ask us the questions that pass you through your head, we will try to answer it as best as possible.

Leak: the iPhone 12 see all colors

Evan Blass, patent leaks with always reliable information, has just shared images a priori official from all the iPhone 12 models that Apple should launch tonight. No technical characteristics, but just visuals that allow you to get a good idea of the new colors.

These visuals are also an opportunity to confirm the presence of two photo sensors on the back of the iPhone 12 Mini and iPhone 12, and three modules for the iPhone 12 Pro and Pro Max. For these last two, we also note the presence of a large additional sensor: this should be the Lidar, logically.

Ah I don’t like it at all. (On the pro because on the normal if).
Finally it is mainly because it will marry very well with the flexible silicone shells that will oxidize.
They thus connect in the medium term.

And it’s completely wanted TKT ! The impact when it disappears will be all the more important .

What a charm if she disappears when she was already as tall as at the start ??

By keeping it so until they can eliminate it, they arouse a demand, an impatience to see something change !!

A little when the iPhone 6 was released and everyone wanted larger screens !!

I also think that you have to add technical complexity to that ! Keep in front of ID see improving the existing by making it become invisible at the same time should not be within the reach of any engineer either ☝️

In short cease to growl (I speak for everyone) you will be delighted when it is gone and will not even think when it was annoying you ☝️.

The 5G chip will support the frequencies used in France for 5G .

avatar

Vanton | 13/10/2020 at 2:38 PM

Maybe we will have to wait until this evening to find out 🙂

avatar

ROCCOYOP | 13/10/2020 at 2:43 PM

I am sure that no. So far it has always been like that. Already that 2G, 3G and 4G are not supported, why would they do it for 5G ?

avatar

Shaba | 13/10/2020 at 2:47 PM

How not supported ? French frequencies are perfectly supported.

avatar

ROCCOYOP | 13/10/2020 at 2:48 PM

Oh dear ! Ironically, all that all. No ?

It is obvious that 5G Fr will be supported.

avatar

Shaba | 13/10/2020 at 2:50 p.m

The irony on a forum where we are used to criticizing is difficult to discern;)

avatar

ROCCOYOP | 13/10/2020 at 2:50 p.m

Yes, I agree, but it was big anyway.

There was just the iPhone 2G which was not compatible with 3G that had just been released. It was the only exception.

avatar

Vanton | 13/10/2020 at 15:04

Nop. The 5 was not compatible with all French 4G frequencies. We had to wait for the 5C and 5S to have a complete support.

And there is a high risk for it to happen again with 5G. We will know more tonight.

avatar

Vincentn | 13/10/2020 at 2:49 PM

There are 3 frequencies for 5G:

– 3.5GHz band: this is the one that has been auction and will be operated commercially by the end of the year. Best compromise coverage/debit.

– Band of 700 MHz: used partly by 4G (and before by TNT), in particular by free. Better coverage, lower flow. Will arrive in a second step in France for 5G. The rumor says that the iPhone 12 do not support this band for 5G (but for 4G).

– Band of 26 GHz: The fastest, the worst coverage, but normally not before 2022/2023 in France (still in experimentation). Available for example in the USA, on the other hand, the models sold there and in other countries where this band is already in commercial exploitation will support it unlike those sold in France, according to the rumor.

In short, this year’s iPhone sold in France will use the 5G band usable in the country and elsewhere in Europe.
And we can presuppose that the model of next year sold in France will also support the 700MHz which will begin to be deployed for the
5g and why not the 26GHz, even if it will be
still useless with us.

avatar

Ivador | 13/10/2020 at 2:50 p.m

So the iPhone 2020 will not be able to fully exploit 5G in France, just partially .

Not a good investment for me, so I pass my turn

avatar

Vincentn | 13/10/2020 at 14:55

This year’s iPhone will fully exploit 5G available commercially in France and in a large part of Europe.

If you want to exploit all of the 5G bands in France, well, you will have to wait 2-3 years at best. Or go for example to the USA and have an American iPhone 12.
