It is especially inside that the passionate of 3008 awaited the third generation at the turn. Gaëtan Demoulin, project manager of the Peugeot 3008, was keen to create “WOW effect”: “There has been a lot of energy that has been devoted to this aspect.»

And inside, magic operates. The interior of the first and second generation were already particularly developed and design, but on this new model, we go to the upper level. It gives its owner the feeling of being in his living room with the quality gray fabric on the dashboard and the magnificent seats in which he and his passengers take place. The floating screen confirms its latest -crying technological side. The small steering wheel is adjustable, but now allows you to see the screen almost entirely, positioned much higher than before.

Jérôme Chont is particularly convinced by the alliance between comfort and practicality. For him, for sure: this new 3008 will attract customers !

The new PEUGEOT 3008 Electric will offer three powers: 210 or 230 hp in 2 -wheel drive and 230 hp in 4 -wheel drive. The autonomy promises to go up to 700 km, enough to fear a price exceeding € 50,000 … A thermal version will also be offered for minimum € 35,000. Now remains to try the car to make sure that the Peugeot Star SUV is worth this price ! Expected release in spring 2024.

Abandoning the classic, typical break profile of its competitors (Renault Austral, Volkswagen Tiguan, Nissan Qashqai, etc.), he will not fail to praise his family clientele by his profile of coupe inspired by the Renault Arkana. To this ready that the new 3008 plays it more subtle than its competitor of the diamond by starting its fall in the pavilion downstream from the rear passengers, from the tailgate summit. It is therefore a false coupe that should skillfully spare style and habitability. However, the account will no longer be there for saturation enthusiasts of the trunk to the ceiling, with regard to the intense inclination of the rear telescope.

No more trunk, but what about modularity ?

The unknown remains as to the dimensions of this new model which, however, should at least win 5 to 6 cm in length to reach the template of the Renault Austral (4.51 m). Consequently, under tablet, we bet that the chest volume of the 3008 cuvée 2024 will happily exceed 520 l cubes by its predecessor. In addition, it would rather be inspired by the idea of ​​stalling on the modularity standards – rare in this segment – established by its competitor of the diamond which benefits from a sliding rear bench in two parts (⅔ -⅓). A tip that would allow it to substantially increase the luggage carrying capacity, but Peugeot generally leaves Citroën to offer this type of equipment. From then on, let us wait for the renewal of a fixed seat on this new 3008.

A new I-Cockpit that will have to prove itself

By migrating rear seats to that of the driver, we will observe the sensitive moult of its I-Cockpit module. Better ? Yes and no, probably. The positive point should come from the elevation of information facing the driver, and previously masked in part by the top of the steering wheel. A recurring symptom on Sochalian models, unless you lower the steering column to its lowest level, at the risk of swapping the driving position. This new curved screen will have the particularity of displaying the large format of automotive production (21 ”), bringing together the two screens that previously formed the I-Cockpit environment. Multipically electrified

Finally, it is under the hood that the 3008 will make its revolution, under cover of total electrification. According to our colleagues from the Magazine Automobile, the newcomer will extend its electromotive panel from 115 to 285 kW (155 to 380 hp), from two to four -wheel drive, while the battery capacities will offer 60 to 85 kWh in 85 kWh in View of approaching the 600 km of autonomy. A technical feat made possible by the developments conceded to its EMP2 platform, soon called Stla Medium, also endowed with hybridization with several levels. In addition to the renewal of the 136 hp 48V block, recently inaugurated by the current 3008, this base should have a rechargeable variant combined exclusively 200 hp against 180, 225 and even 300 hp to date. Clearly, the PHEV versions will no longer be part of the priorities of the compact lion SUV.
