New Peugeot 208 (2023): restyling and new engines
The new Peugeot 208 and its E-208 electric version have been revealed. On the occasion of this major restyling, the lion brand re -studied the design of its city car. This benefits from an even higher-end look. Hybrid engines are also born, based on the new distribution chain puretech engine.
In addition, the list of finishes is simplified at 3 options: Active, Allure and GT.
The stake is large for Peugeot since the 208 was simply the best -selling car in France and Europe in 2021 and 2022.
Design of the new Peugeot 208: even more assumed
Peugeot’s designers have fun on this restyling. The Peugeot city car benefits from many new features compared to the 2020 version. The dimensions of the city car, however, remain unchanged (406 cm x 175 cm x 143 cm). Two new colors appear in the catalog: yellow Agueda and Gray Selenium. They are added to artnse gray, white banquards, pearl black, vertigo blue and red elixir.
Front face of the new 208 Peugeot
The identity of the front face conforms with what has already been observed during the restylages of the 508 or 2008 earlier in the year. The new grille covers a large surface with the disappearance of air inlets on the lower part of the shield. It consists of rectangular patterns tilted on a matt black background. This grille welcomes the new Peugeot logo in its center.
On both sides of this grille, the light signature of the lights evolves. The 208 logically benefits from triple claws. The main LED projector itself benefits from a 3-part light signature on the GT version.
Profile of the 208 2023
The profile allows you to appreciate the design of the new rims. In the photos revealed, we are introduced to the 17 -inch Yanaka Alloy rims and their diamond design with 4 branches. The Peugeot logo is affixed to the center to hide the nuts. The mirrors are black brilliant blacks on all finishes. The 208 GT receives in addition to shiny black wheel arches, as well as the optional black roof.
Rear side of the restyled 208
The rear lights also benefit from a new light signature. We find the spirit of the three claws. This time they are integrated horizontally within the main optics. The lion logo disappears on this rear side and only gives way to the Peugeot inscription in all letters on the black banner which connects the lights.
Interior of the new 208: a more generous I-Cockpit
On board, we generally find the characteristics that have the identity of the Peugeot I-Cockpit for several years. The city car retains its compact steering wheel, the piano keys and its central island. On the latter, the 208 manuals receive a new gear lever.
This restyling is the occasion for Peugeot to integrate the central multimedia screen of 10 inch of standard for all the finishes of the vehicle.
Regarding the instrumentation interface behind the steering wheel, each finish has the right to a different treatment. Active finish inherits an analog needle display. The 208 Allure finish offers a digital handset with 10 inch screen. Finally, the GT finish offers a 3D display.
Peugeot has chosen to reveal an unprecedented upholstery, made up of black Alcantara and green stitching Adamite. This very neat coating will be available as an option only on the 208 GT.

The new generation has an engine of 115 kW (156 hp). It offers a range of 400 km according to the WLTP cycle thanks to its 51 kWh battery.
Regarding recharging, the manufacturer offers the single -phase charger 7.4 kW standard. Optionally, an 11 kW three -phase charger is available.
Approximate 20 % to 80 % of the capacity recharging time is less than 30 minutes when made on a 100 kW public terminal in direct current. With a wallbox (7.4 kW) by alternating current, the load will last 4:40. On a reinforced domestic outlet (3.2 kW), it will take approximately 11:10 a.m.

* Fuel consumption and CO2 emissions
Estimated data, communicated as an indication and subject to approval
WLTP values (1): fuel consumption from 4.2 to 5.9 in mixed cycle, from 4.7 to 7.5 in low speed, from 4 to 6 in average speed, from 3.6 to 5.1 in High speed and 4.6 to 6 at very high speed WLTP (l/100 km) – CO2 emissions (mixed) WLTP: from 109 to 134 (g/km).
(1) The values of fuel consumption and indicated CO2 emissions comply with the WLTP (EU 2017/948 regulation) approval). From September 1, 2018, new vehicles are received on the basis of the trial procedure harmonized worldwide for light vehicles (WLTP), which is a new more realistic test procedure to measure the fuel consumption and CO2 emissions. This WLTP procedure completely replaces the new European driving cycle (NEDC), which was the test procedure used previously. The test conditions being more realistic, the consumption of fuel and the CO2 emissions measured according to the WLTP procedure are, in many cases, higher than those measured according to the NEDC procedure. Fuel consumption values and CO2 emissions can vary depending on specific equipment, options and tire types. Be sure to get closer to your point of sale for more information. More information on the Peugeot website of your country.
NEDC values (2): fuel consumption from 3.2 to 4.5 in mixed cycle, from 2.9 to 4.0 in extra-urban and from 3.7 to 5.4 in urban NEDC (L/100 km ) – CO2 emissions (mixed) NEDC: from 84 to 101 (g/km).
Peugeot unveils its new 208, with a hybrid engine in addition to electric
Peugeot restyle his bestseller with a revised design for his versatile 208 city car, his bestseller in Europe. The opportunity also to add light hybrid engines, in addition to the petrol offer and 100% electric.
A new boil for one of the best -selling cars in France and Europe. Peugeot has just unveiled the restyled version of its second generation 208, launched at the end of 2019. A very popular model, already produced in over a million copies, but not in France, to the chagrin of Bruno Le Maire.
The new stylistic codes of Peugeot
We discover the new design of the versatile city car. With in particular a new front side which takes up the last codes of the Peugeot design, introduced on its latest restyled models, the 508 sedans and the 2008 SUV, with the three long light claws under the headlights. And of course the new Peugeot logo.
As in phase 1, Peugeot opted for a yellow as a launch color, offered as standard to be noticed in traffic. An “ageda yellow” which however seems a little less “chick” than that offered for a little over 3 years and which also finds a new “gray selenium”, for a total of 7 colors offered in total.
At the rear, the main change is more subtle, with the three claws in the lights passing from the vertical to the horizontal. “Made up of three elegant LED lines which extend the black trunk shope, they give more base in rear view and contribute to a greater perception”, notes the press release from Peugeot.
Few changes inside: the 10 -inch touch screen is now offered as standard, while a 7 inch so far equipped the entry -level versions. Also note: the front and rear parking help cameras go to Haute-Definition, a more powerful induction charger (15W instead of 5W so far) and more USB sockets, two at the front and two to the back.
A 400 -kilometer autonomy
But it is under the hood that we finally find the most novelties. The 100% electric version, the E-208 now offers 400 kilometers of autonomy (WLTP figure under approval, specifies Peugeot, with the 51kWh battery) with a recharge which remains limited to 100kW on a quick terminal.
Peugeot will also offer its new light hybrid motorization on this 208: Puretech 100 horsepower petrol engines and 136 horsepower are associated with the E-DCS 6-speed Electrified Box with double clutch which incorporates a 48 volts electric motor. What potentially saves 15% fuel and ride in town 50% of the time in electric, promises Peugeot.
A new offer that joins that of the two petrol engines, with the PureTech 75 associated with a 5 -speed manual gearbox and the PureTech 100 in 6 -speed manual gearbox.
