Peugeot’s strategy was obviously good since in France as in Europe, it is the city car at the lion that has best sold since the start of the two models.

The front evolves less than that of the restyled Clio The rear lights benefit from

While the two enemies both arrive at the traditional stage of the restyling of mid-carrier (they had been launched almost at the same time), these strategies evolve. Deemed far too conservative, the Clio dared to go far enough in the modifications in terms of its front side. Conversely (and as the recent 2008 restyled), the Peugeot 208 only makes its image without big changes. In detail, the grille adopts an unprecedented treatment and the large LED claws are no longer extended under the optics (they migrate to the side gowns on the shield and now consist of three bands). We also notice full led optics with a different style (standard only on the GT finish level) and rear lights also retouched.

Inside, the changes are more discreet. The 208 now has a 10 -inch touch screen on its central console regardless of the version, while the old one was satisfied with a 7 -inch display on the first two finish levels. This screen works with the latest version of the I-Connect interface and there are also some touch-ups on the digital instrumentation handset (only supplied on the TAP and GT levels). The high -end GT finish adds room lighting enhanced with new colors and manual transmission versions benefit from a speed lever with a modified shape. The car can count on better quality cameras for parking maneuvers but there is no big novelty on driving aids.

Two new micro-hybrid engines and more diesel

The range of the Peugeot 208 will start with a 1.2 -liter three -cylinder petrol and 75 horsepower coupled with a five -speed manual gearbox and a 100 horsepower version of the same block combined with a six -speed manual gearbox. The range will be completed by two versions of the new light hybridization group with light hybridization launched initially on the 3008 and 5000 restyled, at 100 and 136 horsepower (with an automatic 6 -speed clutch automatic transmission). Finally, zero emission followers will be able to turn to the electric declination of 156 horsepower, officially capable of driving on 400 km thanks to its batteries with a raw capacity of 51 kWh. As on the E-2008, Peugeot will also keep the old electric version of 136 horsepower and 50 kWh of raw capacity, with a price difference similar to that of the Citadin SUV range (around € 1,500 more affordable). There is no longer a diesel version in the catalog, while Renault prefers to maintain this technology in the catalog of the restyled Clio.
