My tf1 max (test 2023) reviews: what is the paid offer by subscription of the TF1 group is worth ?

After a short test period in very small committee, TF1 opened its paid replay offer to a handful of its most loyal users. Called My TF1 Max, it is added to the free offer of the channel, with rather interesting additional features. Let’s see what it is.

Another SVOD platform ?

No, My TF1 Max is not yet another streaming platform that would compete with Netflix, Video Prime or Salto. The idea here is to offer an “premium” replay offer, devoid of any advertising, and embellished with additional options, including thematic channels.

My TF1 Replay Max is therefore complementary to MyTF1 and Salto (whose group is one of the shareholders), in particular by focusing its communication on flow emissions rather than series. A slightly different approach, even if the distinction remains tenuous.

What price for my tf1 max ?

During this period of extended beta, TF1 offers its service at a promotional price. Until November 30, 2022, it is possible to take advantage of seven days of free trial, before moving to a subscription of 2.99 euros per month (or 30 euros per year). The price will then increase to 3.99 euros per month or 40 euros per year.

The offer is obviously without commitment (you are losing the promotion if you stop your subscription or if you do not take it after the 7 days of trial), and may be canceled at any time, very easily, from the page “My Account “.

The free TF1 group without any advertising

In terms of interface, My TF1 Max is like the My TF1 site: the service is made up of tiles and offers a very visual presentation of the programs, which can be classified according to different filters.

TF1 group requires, you have access to the replay and the direct of all the channels: TF1, TMC, but also TF1 Séries-Films and TFX. There is strangely not LCI, nor seriesclubs, TV history, Breizh TV or Ushuaïa TV, which are paid channels.

The reader is the same as that of the free version, with the difference that it remains accessible even if an adblocker is activated on your browser. And for good reason: MyTF1 Max removes the overlay of advertisements.

On replay emissions and programs, reading launches immediately, but you still cannot choose the quality, which is managed automatically and more or less effectively. It is also possible to watch a live program: in this case, however, advertising remains present in flow, and it will be impossible to go back or to break down, unlike France.TV for example.

It may happen that advertising dedicated to the offer is launching, so that we find the defects of the free offer, namely a net cut to the change of tab or screen, without the possibility of passing the ‘announcement.

Replay ++

In addition to the absence of advertising and a rather effective web player overall, My TF1 Max also has a “Stream” tab which happens to be the real added value of this subscription by subscription.

These are thematic channels, which take up the main programs of TF1 Production, and certain group acquisitions. We find in particular the channels “fantastic series”, “thriller fiction”, “thriller fiction” … and fans of Ris Police Scientific, Love Holidays, Under the sun, dance with the stars, will have dedicated channels. Also note the presence of channels dedicated to Captain Tsubasa, Bleach, Naruto And City Hunter/Nicky Larson.

The idea is more than commendable … at the detail that they are “live” channels. Consequently, as for the “Direct” tab, the reading options are limited for the programs of this alternative grid. If you have missed the start of an episode or the Christmas film (within the channel “Noël Movies”), too bad for you. Note, however, that the episodes and films offered on these channels are also offered in classic replay after their broadcast.

Finally, note that the application supports chromecast (finally !), but not the pictures in pictures on iOS. Damage.

Extended, but limited viewing

Another advantage compared to the free offer: the extended replay. On mytf1 (very short), you only have seven days to see or review the TF1 channel programs. It is not very. On mytf1 max, you have a maximum of 30 days. When writing these lines, we can easily view episodes of Charmed (new version) dating from late October.

Some old programs are available until the end of the dissemination rights acquired, a few days, weeks or months after the first broadcast.

Take advantage of a few more days to watch a program is very good, but can we see the episodes of our favorite series in advance ? The answer is no. This possibility remains reserved for Salto, as is that of having the entire program from the first day of its broadcast. With My TF1 Max, the program must have been broadcast on one of the group’s channels upstream. If you are an unconditional fan of TF1 programs, but you don’t have time to look at them live or you don’t want any advertising, a subscription to My TF1 Max has meaning. Similarly if you find the offer of salto too expensive (although it brings together the programs of TF1, France TV and M6).

But the service is far from obvious, because even if the addition of thematic channels is rather a good idea, the offer remains quite old and will only interest a handful of viewers. The few shortcomings, such as the impossibility of coming back to the direct, the absence of preview, and a player which still does not allow to change the quality “by hand” (but which has the VO/VF) will put off the most informed.

Precisely the interest is to be able to look at the replay that would have interested you with more delay.
For example for @hendria Maya Beats, a fan of Kho Lanta, it is possible to look at it in the month. On France TV, the replay is 2 weeks I think. Unfortunately on TF1, the delay is only a week, it’s too short if there is a program (series episode, …) that we like.
No need to stay a whole year, it can be practical over a short period, on a period when there are programs that we like and that we have no time to look at them at the time.
Paying 2 months at 2-3 € is not the mother to drink.
