Appeared in 2018 at the Geneva Automobile Fair, Microlino finally becomes reality. After numerous setbacks to find a partner to start manufacturing and an official presentation organized at the end of May, the Swiss manufacturer has just launched its online configurator.

From 90 to 230 km of autonomy

More powerful and therefore more versatile than the little Citroën Ami, the Microlino has a 12 kW electric motor (19 kW in crest). Approved in the category of heavy quadricycles, it allows up to 90 km/h maximum speed. 6, 10.5 or 14 kWh… Three battery sizes are offered for a range varying from 91 to 230 km with a load.

A basic version of less than 15,000 €

Limited series numbered to 999 copies, the Pioneer Series version will be the first to get out of production lines with deliveries announced this summer. Equipped with the 10.5 kWh intermediate battery and available in two specific colors, it incorporates many exclusive equipment, including vegan upholstery. Its base price is displayed at € 20,990.

Considered the entry -level, the Microlino Urban is available in two colors and will be equipped with a small 6 kWh battery allowing up to 91 km of autonomy with a load. It will be the cheapest microlino with an out -of -option price announced at less than € 15,000.

In the heart of the range, we find the Dolce finish With five colors available and three battery sizes: 6, 10.5 or 14 kWh. With the small battery, the basic version is displayed at € 16,580. It will then be necessary to pay € 1,900 for the intermediate pack, or € 18,570 in total, and € 3,500 for the big battery (€ 20,080).

On the top of the range arrives the version Competizione With two choices of batteries (10.5 or 14 kWh) and a higher level of equipment. Depending on the battery chosen, the price ranges between 18,590 and 20,090 €.

Microlino (Switzerland) arrives in France, declined in several versions. But the price is so high that it should remain a niche product.

BMW ISETTA has given ideas to a lot of people in Europe in recent years. On the one hand, the German manufacturer Electricbrands who has produced the Evetta for some time already. On the other, the small Swiss brand Microlino AG which produces the eponymous cart. Between the two, a legal showdown which will ultimately have led to a status quo: the two companies can each market their product, one having simply had to leave the “advance” to the other. Microlino has formalized distributors who will market the cart in France: Bauer Paris, Jean Lain Mobilités and Groupe CLG Motors. Everyone will take care of a region: Ile-de-France, Auvergne Rhône Alpes and Cote d’Azur. The objective would be to produce up to 10,000 microlino per year, in Italy, where the quadricycle is assembled.

More expensive than expected

Last year, Microlino had in fact already opened orders in France, but without confirming the distribution network or the importer. In the meantime, there was a change since the entry ticket went from € 14,990 to € 17,990. The reason ? The cost of raw materials and parts that have exploded in the meantime. In any case, this is the official version.

There are now four levels of finish: Urban, Dolce, Competizione and Pionner Series, which was to be only a limited edition. The prices are as follows: € 17,990, € 19,990, € 21,990 and € 22,990 to pioneer Series. Three battery levels are offered: 6 kWh, imposed on the first level of finish, 10.5 kWh and 14 kWh, giving the right to 230 km of autonomy according to the approval cycle. The engine develops 17 hp. Note that this microlino is not a competitor of the Citroën Ami since its maximum speed is fixed at 90 km/h, which will offer it a much higher field of action. But Microlino has already planned an L6 version which will come to compete directly the Stellantis triplet. We will then have Microlino against Topolino ! Hopefully, however, that it will be created at darker prices as this 90 km/h version as expensive as Dacia Spring.
