First 100 % electric SUV of the star brand, the Mercedes EQC began its marketing in mid-2019. This is the first model in the EQ range dedicated to electric.
Revealed in 2016 at the Paris Motor Show, the Mercedes EQC initiates the new Daimler strategy in the field of electromobility. Revealed in its final version in Stockholm in early September 2018, this 100 % electric SUV foreshadows the arrival of a complete electric offer around the EQ range.
Mercedes EQC design
Marking a specific aesthetic of the EQ range, the Mercedes EQC is distinguished by its front panel. Abandoning the chrome patterns usually used on the brand’s models, it is distinguished by the two headlights connected to form only one and the same element.
This results in a unique digital signature which crosses the entire grille and found at the back of the vehicle.
Inside we find a large dashboard which, inaugurated on the new Mercedes Class A, comes to bring together the digital screen acting as an instrumentation and the touch screen in one and the same element.
Mercedes EQC motorization
In total, two electric motors animate the EQC. Distributed between each axle, these develop up to 300 kW of power and 765 nm of torque. Managed independently, they have very distinct features. The first, at the front, is optimized for energy efficiency while the second, at the back, serves as a support during the more dynamic driving phases.
In terms of performance, the Mercedes EQC claims 180 km/h maximum speed and a 0 to 100 km/h crossed in 5.1 seconds.
Battery and autonomy of the Mercedes EQC
Totating 80 kWh of “useful” capacity, the Mercedes EQC claims more than 374 and 414 km of autonomy in WLTP cycle with an average consumption of 22.2 kWh/100 km.
Supplied by Deutsche accumotif, a subsidiary of the Daimler group, the battery is integrated under the floor. Composed of six modules – two with 48 cells and 4 of 72 cells – it totals 384 cells and weighs 650 kilos. Note that the pack benefits from a thermal regulation system to maintain its performance in hot or cold weather.
To optimize autonomy, the EQC also has several equipment to limit consumption such as the heat pump or a pre-climatic function allowing the driver to adjust the desired temperature via a mobile application or the main touch screen.
Mercedes EQC recharging
In practice, the Mercedes EQC can recharge in two ways:
- In AC, the EQC was originally equipped with a charger in 7.Biphase 4 kW. Since the end of 2020, he has received as standard a three -phase charger in 11 kW for recharge from 10 to 100 % in around 7:30 am
- In DC with combo up to 110 kW in 40 minutes for a load of 10 to 80 %.
Mercedes EQC marketing and prices
Assessed in Germany, the Mercedes EQC began its marketing in May 2019.

Consumption and autonomy.
EQC 400 4MATIC: Electric autonomy: 373-429 km [2] (WLTP mixed cycle) / 428-496 km [2] (WLTP urban cycle) [1] .
Electric consumption: 21.7-23.3 kWh/100 km (WLTP mixed cycle) [1] .
CO2 emissions: 0 g/km (WLTP mixed cycle) [1] .
[1] Since September 1, 2018, new light vehicles have been received in Europe on the basis of the harmonized test procedure for light vehicles (WLTP), test procedure to measure fuel consumption and emissions from CO2, more realistic than the NEDC procedure previously used.
[2] The actual autonomy depends on the configuration of the vehicle, the driver’s driving style, traffic conditions, weather conditions, seniority and battery status, the use of the system of system air conditioning can therefore present differences.
[3] The recharging duration corresponds to a complete recharge of 10 % to 80 % on a DC fast load terminal with 400 V power voltage and intensity of at least 300 A.
[4] Nominal power data and nominal torque according to Regulation (EC) 715/2007, in the in force version.
