Every day in France, around 100 million trips are made by car to go to work, to school or go shopping, and in the vast majority of cases, the driver is alone in the passenger compartment, according to the Executive figures. To encourage the French to put themselves in carpooling, the government has launched its national plan “carpooling of the daily”.
The objective is to triple the number of daily carpools by 2027, from 900,000 to 3 million per day. To achieve this, the executive unveiled 14 measures, including two bonuses of € 100 each which will be paid, under conditions, to new carpoolers from January 1, 2023.
