First compact crossover of the Korean manufacturer, the Kia Niro Hybrid was launched in France in 2016. Since 2022, it has been available in a whole new version.

Design and dimensions of the Kia Niro

Pointed out for its a little too “pass” design, the Kia Niro Hybrid made its aesthetic revolution in 2022. With an extended grille and much more expressive lines, the new version of the Korean SUV extends over 4.2 m in length, 1.825 m in width and 1.45 m in height.

Inside, the new Niro inherits the presentation of the Kia Ev6 with a much more modern dashboard and marked by two large digital screens of 12.3 inches placed side by side. At the level of the trunk, the load capacity reaches 451 L, more than 100 liters better than the previous version.

Kia Niro hybrid motorization

The new KIA Niro platform has been developed independently of those of existing KIA models, and designed to integrate a whole series of technologies that respect the new generation propellants.

With a motorization shared with hyundai ioniq hybrid, the hybrid kia niro is animated by a 4 -cylinder petrol engine with direct injection (GDI) of 105 horsepower with Atkinson cycle associated with a 32 kW electric motor (43 hp) and 170 Nm.

Piloted by a 6-speed double-upscale box, the system develops up to 141 horsepower and 265 Nm of torque.

Niro hybrid consumption and performance

In terms of consumption, Kia claims an average of 4.4 to 4.6 l/100 km in WLTP cycle according to the chosen version, or 100 to 105 g CO2/km.

In terms of performance, the manufacturer claims a top speed of 165 km/h and a 0 to 100 km/h shot in 10.4 seconds.
