iPhone 11: It is not in the top 10 of the best photo smartphones from DxOMark
The iPhone 11 has failed to make a place in the top 10 of the best photo smartphones from DXOMARK. The test laboratory even relegated the Apple smartphone to 17th place in its ranking with a global score of 109. DXOMARK notably regrets the disappointing zoom of the camera.

The iPhone 11 is barely better than the iPhone XS Max
In detail, the iPhone 11 inherits a note from 112 in photo and 101 on video. Unsurprisingly, the double photo sensor of the smartphone is not in size with the triple module of the iPhone 11 Pro Max, which has risen in fourth place in the top with a note of 117. Nevertheless, it offers “A slight improvement compared to the iPhone XS Max from last year”, DXOMARK NOTE. As a reminder, the iPhone XS Max inherited a note of 106 last year.
In his test, DxOMark explains the smartphone note by “The absence of a third telephoto -reajtive photo sensor”. The laboratory thus regrets Average quality zoom smartphone, whether on average or long -range. The digital zoom of the terminal erases many details. In addition, DXOMARK believes that night portraits are often overexposed and that the focal length is too short.
DXOMARK still appreciates the good performance of its ultra -wide angle mode, the bright and pleasant colors of shots, and a good level of details whether indoors or outdoors. Despite his faults, Apple offers a quality camera here.
In the field of video, the iPhone 11 comes out again with honors. DXOMARK notes the excellent rendering of details, its effective stabilization, precise exposure and the wide dynamic range. The flagship sins by its bad balance of white indoor, a sometimes unstable exhibition and a capricious autofocus. What do you think of DXOMARK’s opinion ? We are waiting for your return to the comments.

The iPhone 11 does not enter the top 10 best smartphones for photo and video
While the iPhone 11 Pro Max is currently one of the best smartphones to take photos and videos, the iPhone 11 does not even appear on the DXOMARK TOP 10. And it’s the number of cameras on the back that makes the difference.

If the quality of the photos and videos the most important factor for you when you choose a smartphone, the DXOMARK ranking is the reference you will have to look at. For years, the laboratory has been testing and notes mobile cameras in order to classify them.
And recently, DxOMark released its test from the iPhone 11, which allows us to compare the performance of the device compared to those of the iPhone 11 Pro and other models.
As a reminder, among the three iPhones released by Apple in September 2019, the iPhone 11 is the cheapest model. However, the device has an LCD screen while the iPhone 11 Pro and the iPhone 11 Pro Max have OLED screens. And the iPhone 11 has two cameras on the back while the iPhone 11 Pro and the iPhone 11 Pro Max have three cameras on the back. The processor is however the same: the A13 Bionic chip.
But obviously, the absence of a third camera on the back makes a big difference
As I write this article, the iPhone 11 Pro Max is one of the best smartphones to take photos and videos, in fifth place behind the Huawei Mate 30 Pro 5G, the Honor V30 Pro, the Huawei Mate 30 Pro and the Xiaomi Mi CC9 Pro Premium. DXOMARK gives the iPhone 11 Pro Max the same score of 117 points as the Galaxy Note 10+.
With its two cameras on the back, a 12-megapixel main sensor and an ultra-wide-angle of 12 megapixels, the iPhone 11 is in 17th place in the DXOMARK classification, when I write this article. The device has the same score of 109 points as the Huawei P20 Pro and is beaten by models like the Mi 9 of Xiaomi, the Mate 20 Pro, the Honor 20 Pro or even the Google Pixel 4.
In its iPhone 11 analysis, DxOMark concludes that as a whole, the cheaper iPhone is up to the image quality of the iPhone 11 Pro. However, he is handicapped by the absence of a third telephoto sensor, which means that the quality of the zoom is not as good. The photos taken in portrait mode would also be less good.
On the other hand, for the video, the two aircraft obtained almost the same score during the DXOMARK tests (the classification note is the average between the photo note and the video note).
