How to change Internet operator easily ?

The Rio code, for operator identity statement, is an identifier which takes the form of 12 digits and which allows operators to identify the lines (fixed, but also mobile) of each users in France. How to terminate your Internet box at no cost ?

Fiber, xdsl, cable: what differences ?

Today there are 2 major technologies to connect to the internet at home. The fiber family, either to the home (or FTTH for Fiber to the Home), or with a part on copper cables with the FFTLA (Fiber to the last amplifier) and the FTTB (Fiber to the Building) then the XDSL family which brings together the ADSL and the VDSL.

The FTTH is the most efficient technology. The whole connection goes through an optical fiber, from the service provider to the subscriber box. The FTTB and the FTTLA rely on optical fiber in the main part but the last meters are however traveled on copper. Either from the bottom of the building to the subscriber in the case of the FTTB, or from the last “amplifier” (from the pâté of the house in clear) to the home for the FTTLA. These two technologies make it possible to obtain high speeds or even equivalent to the FTTH in download, but are back in upload. All these technologies allow very high speed access (greater than 30 Mb/s).

ADSL, VDSL and their variants are based on the copper network historically dedicated to fixed telephony. If its flows are limited, especially in upload, Technology has the merit of being widely deployed and therefore accessible in rural areas. They generally allow access to high speed connection. However, the more you are far from the distributor, the lower the flows. Copper is however extinction since the network will be gradually dismantled from 2023 and should go out in 2030.

What is the advantage of an internet box without obligation ?
