FAQ relating to the new Arlo Secure subscription
In 2021, we launched Arlo Secure, our new subscription with an unlimited number of cameras and also simplified subscriptions. Arlo secure optimizes your safety and provides personalized alerts, to allow you to act faster.
How to modify or cancel my Arlo subscription ?
You must use the ARLO app for Android or connect to your ARLO account on a computer to modify or cancel your Arlo subscription. Assistance specialists and ARLO community moderators are unable to cancel your service, modify it, or offer a reimbursement for the unused part of your subscription.
Noticed : If you have an old Arlo Smart subscription, you cannot change it, unless you go to a new Arlo Smart subscription.
When you change or cancel your subscription:
- All your ARLO cloud recordings are deleted.
If you want to keep your records, download them before canceling or modifying your subscription. - If you cancel an old Arlo Smart subscription, you will no longer be able to subscribe to it again. You will then have to buy a new Arlo Smart subscription.

To modify your Arlo subscription:
- Launch the ARLO application on Android or connect to my.arlo.com.
Noticed : You cannot change your Arlo Smart subscription to an iOS devices (Apple). - Click or press Settings> Subscription.
- Press or click on Change In view of the Arlo Smart or CVR subscription that you want to modify.
- Choose the services you want to add or delete.
- Follow the screen instructions to find your new Arlo Smart subscription.
To cancel your Arlo subscription:
- Launch the ARLO application on Android or connect to my.arlo.com.
Noticed : You cannot change your Arlo Smart subscription to an iOS devices (Apple). - Click or press Settings> Subscription.
- Press or click on unsubscribe at the bottom of the screen.
- Follow the instructions on the screen to select the subscription (s) you want to cancel.

How is Arlo Secure different from Arlo Smart ?
Arlo Secure is a new improved version of Arlo Smart. Arlo Secure offers subscriptions for an unlimited number of cameras*, which means that you can add cameras at any time without additional cost. For subscribers in the United States, Arlo Secure Plus has a new Emergency Respons of choice feature. Like Arlo Smart, Arlo Secure also includes the detection of advanced AI objects, zone of activity on the cloud, longer cloud recordings and better resolution as well as intelligent notifications.
Noticed : *subscriptions supporting an unlimited number of cameras only apply to Arlo cameras at a single residential address and on the same ARLO account.
Why did Arlo make these changes ?
Many customers have asked for subscriptions for an unlimited number of cameras and we regularly change our subscriptions according to the return of our customers. Arlo secure subscriptions are easier to understand, to choose and their pricing is also simpler.
I have Arlo Smart Premier or Arlo Smart Elite and I want to keep it. Is it possible ?
Yes. Arlo Smart subscription users can keep their current subscription. Nothing changes for you and you are free to keep your Smart subscription as long as you wish.
How much does arlo secure cost and what are the available subscriptions ?

Can I take out a new Arlo Smart subscription ?
No. After the launch of Arlo Secure, we will no longer accept new subscriptions to Arlo Smart. Arlo keeps Arlo Smart services for current subscribers, but all new subscribers must choose a new Arlo Secure subscription.
I have an Arlo Smart test currently in progress. What will happen when he expires ?
You will be able to let the test expire or buy a Arlo Secure subscription. The new Arlo Smart subscriptions will no longer be available for purchase after the launch of Arlo Secure in 2021.
Can I go from Arlo Smart to a Arlo Secure subscription ?

I subscribe to Arlo Smart. What if I want to add an arlo secure subscription to my account ?
You can keep your Arlo Smart subscription, but if you want to make changes, you will have to go to a Secure Subscription. You cannot mix the features of different subscriptions.
I prefer to keep my Arlo Smart subscription. What are the features I benefit from ?
You can keep your current subscription. Although we no longer have new subscriptions to Arlo Smart after the launch of Arlo Secure, the following features will always be supported for current smart subscribers.
With an Arlo Smart Premier subscription, you can record videos on the cloud of a resolution reaching 2K from 1 or 5 cameras. Your recordings are kept in the Arlo library for a maximum of 30 days. If you have more than 5 cameras, you can buy a single camera subscription at half price for each additional camera.
