How to get the latest version of parental control

If you have already configured a parental control applicable to your entire Netflix account, you can get the latest version of this feature and customize the control settings for each profile individually.

To obtain the latest version of parental control:

1. In a web browser, access the account page.
2. Open the parental control page.
   • If the parental control link does not appear, it means that you already have the latest version. You can therefore define a different parental control for each profile. Consult the parental control section in Netflix to find out the options available.
3. In the new parental control page that displays the parental control settings for each profile, you can:
   • Choose the age category associated with each profile;
   • require the entry of a PIN code to access each profile;
   • Consult the list of securities with limited access previously defined for each profile.
4. Click Save .

You may need to update the device to recover the modified settings. To do this :
Go to another profile, then return to yours.
Or log out of your device, then identify yourself again.

Why am I invited to update parental control ?

To allow families to better control the TV series and the films that children can watch, and the games they can play, we give them the possibility of applying different parameters for each profile, rather than defining a single parental control For the entire Netflix account.

If you wish to continue to apply a single PIN code to restrict access to certain titles at the entire account, click Cancel rather than define different checks for each profile.

Why am I not invited to use a different parental control for each profile ?

If you have never defined parental control or have started to use it after the provision of new features, you have nothing to change. You can start applying parental check on any of the profiles of your Netflix account.

Can I keep the single PIN code of my account for parental control ?

Yes. To continue using a single PIN code in order to restrict access to certain content in the entire account, click Cancel rather than define different checks for each profile.

You will then continue to have your parental control code to look at the contents intended for an unauthorized age category, but you will not be able to modify parental control parameters without going to the latest version. To define parental control of a specific profile, simply access the parental control page of your account at any time.

Can I return to the old Protection by single PIN code if I go to the new version ?

No. Once you access the version allowing to personalize parental control for each profile, it is no longer possible to use the same PIN code for the entire account. However, you can create a PIN code to control access to certain profiles using the profile locking option.

• Click on the “Account” tab.
• Go to the “profiles and parental control” part.
• Select “Profile locking”, enter your password and create your PIN code. You can now make this number compulsory to access the profiles of your choice.

Intended for children, Netflix Jeunesse integrates a simplified interface with programs specially selected for small. Since the latter, it is not possible to access the account parameters. But How to create a Netflix Youth account ?

• Go to the “Manage the profiles” tab.
• Click on “Add a profile”.
• Select “Child”. It’s good, you now have a space dedicated to your offspring.

• Define an age category / block titles

It is also possible to define an age category for a profile. Consequently, only the films and TV series deemed adapted to this age limit will now be visible. Here are the steps to follow :

• In the “Account” tab, go to the “profiles and parental control” part.
• Select “Access Restrictions”, enter your password.
• Define the desired age category.

You can also block certain specific programs from your account. The approach is the same, you just have to inform the programs targeted in “Enter the film or the TV series”.

• Check history and deactivate automatic playback

Finally, know that you can also check the history of viewing a profile from the settings of your account.

• This always happens in the “Profiles and parental control” part where you have to click on the “Historical” section.

To limit the time spent in front of the screen, deactivation of automatic reading is a useful parameter. Just go to “Account”, then “Profiles and parental control” and “Reading parameters”. Then uncheck “Reading the following episode in a series on all devices”.
