How to connect to Canvas as a student ?

You can access Canvas via a canvas URL specific to the institution, the website of your school, an invitation e-mail during the course, or the iOS Canvas Student application or the Android Canvas Student application.

• If you are associated with an institution in the use of Canvas and you do not know your user name and password, please contact your site administrator.
• If you receive a participation code or a secret URL to register for a course, find out how to create a canvas account.
• Find out more about navigation in canvas as a student in the overall navigation guides of canvas for pupil or canvas audiovisual guides for pupils.

Open Canvas

You can access Canvas via a canvas URL specific to the institution. Canvas URLs use one of the following structures: [Name of your institution].instructure.com or canvas.[Name of your institution].Edu .

Certain institutions may also authorize access to Canvas via an authentication system specific to the institution which redirects to Canvas, such as a portal or a website for students.

Note: Canvas Network accounts and free access accounts for teachers do not follow a URL structure specific to the institution. Canvas Network accounts are accessible on learning.canvas.net. Free access accounts for teachers are accessible in Canvas.instructure.com.

Connect to Canvas

After locating the canvas URL of your institution, you can connect to your Canvas account.

To connect, enter your identification information (or connection information) which may be displayed as the e-mail address, the username or the connection identifier [1] and the password [2 . Then click on the connection link (login) [3].

If necessary and according to the parameters of your institution, you may reset your password by clicking on the forgotten password link (Forgot Password) [4].

Note: The connection page may be displayed differently according to your institution or if you log into via the Canvas Student application.

Connect to Canvas via the QR code

You can also access the Canvas instance of your institution and connect to the Canvas Student application by scanning your QR code of the Canvas profile from Canvas on the Internet.
