Ampère: Renault appoints the management of its new subsidiary
Renault Group has just unveiled the organization of its new Ampère subsidiary dedicated to electric vehicles and software. Luca de Meo is appointed to his presidency.
by Jean-Christophe Lefèvre –
By revealing the managers who will take the direction of its new subsidiary, Ampère, Renault Group continues to unroll its roadmap for the filialization by business of its activities. A goal that the manufacturer had unveiled in November 2022 during the presentation of its “Renaulution” plan. For the record, Ampère, based in France, will bring together by the end of 2023 and its IPO around 10,000 employees including a third of engineers. It is devoted to the entire 100 % electric environment and software. Thus, Ampère has already concluded more than twenty partnerships and agreements already operational with Qualcomm Technologies for electronic fleas, Google for software, or Valeo and Stmicroelectronics. By 2030, the range should have six electric vehicles including R4, R5, Mégane E-Tech and Scénic E-Tech.
Luca de Meo, “the best placed” for the management of Ampère
Luca de Meo, who remains managing director of Renault Group, will “ensure the launch of the company and the success of his IPO project”, specifies the press release. He is now also CEO of Ampère. “The success of Luca de Meo in the reversal of Renault Group makes us very confident for the future,” said Jean-Dominique Senard, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Renault Group, during the press conference. It is best placed to conduct the operational success of Ampère, crucial for the group, and ensure its future growth in a mobility sector in processing. »Ampère targets 30 % annual growth by 2030. Finally, two other executives have also been appointed: Josep Maria Recasens, Director of Operations, and Vincent Piquet, Director of Financial.
