Google One tastes Material You and also has a little surprise in store

The Google One subscription service is also entitled to the new Android 12 Material You interface, and brings us a small surprise gift: a dark theme.

From this fall, Google will deploy the new major version of its mobile operating system: Android 12, which will undergo a real facelift after several years of aesthetic conservatism. This overhaul will in particular introduce Material You, the new graphical interface of the OS.

For the moment reserved for Google Pixel phones, the only ones to be able to taste the beta of Android 12, Material You could in the future invite himself on the software interfaces of other manufacturers. But by then, you have to turn to the Pixel range to see the transformations brought by the American giant.

Ergonomic changes

Many Google applications have already adopted Material You in beta : Google Assistant, Google Messages, Google Chrome, Gboard, Google Contacts or Google Agenda. This time it’s Google One’s turn to take advantage of it, paid service to increase its storage space between Google Drive, Gmail and Google Photos.

As explained 9TO5GOOGLE, Some small changes have been made for the occasion: the reception, storage, advantages, support and settings buttons, placed in a higher menu, change their place. They are now located in a lower bar. In addition, the “Parameters” tab disappears from the main interface.

A darker shade with the dark theme

Obviously, the Material You paw is easily visible: here, it is a green shade – in reference, therefore, at the wallpaper of the phone -, which is invited to the lower and upper parts of Google One. The other elements of the app also take advantage of a green dial to always bring more visual coherence, just like some titles.

Besides, this shade changes according to the mode used: with the dark theme, it is a darker green to which we are dealing. What give us an even clearer idea of ​​the possibilities of Material You.
