General Revolut Pro Conditions
These general conditions apply from January 23, 2023. Please click here to consult the previous general conditions that apply until January 23, 2023.
1. Importance of this information
This document defines the general conditions that apply when you use Revolut Pro. We call it “pro conditions”.
These pro conditions apply in addition to our conditions for individuals and all other general conditions applicable when choosing to use Revolut Pro. Our conditions for individuals and our agreement of payments processing services (which we call our ” Payment processing conditions ) Also apply, because many services we provide in our accounts for individuals and professionals are identical. These pro conditions describe everything you need to know when you use pro. In the event of inconsistency between the conditions for individuals and these pro conditions, these pro conditions will apply to your use of Revolut Pro. If you were waiting for something to be covered in these pro conditions, but that is not the case, try to check the conditions for individuals or the treatment conditions of payments.
If you use Revolut Pro, these pro conditions will be part of the legal agreement between the account holder (yourself) and the entity or the branch mentioned under the conditions for individuals (Revolut Bank UAB, a company constituted in Republic of Lithuania under number 304580906 and whose head office and central administration are in Konstitucijos Ave. 21b, 08130 Vilnius, Republic of Lithuania, or its branch).
2. What is Revolut Pro ?
Revolut Pro is a service that allows you to quickly and easily create an account to manage your business or your secondary activity, all from the Revolut Retail application.
Revolut Pro is similar to our product “Revolut Business”. The difference is that Revolut Pro is accessible via your particular revolut account existing via the Retail application, in which our Revolut Business product is a separate account to which you access via our application and our Revolut Business platform (we call it ” Dashboard »).
Your Revolut Pro account is of the same type as your existing private revolut account. All the descriptions we provide from your account, how our services work, as well as your and our rights, under our conditions for individuals also apply when you use Revolut Pro. These pro conditions do not define everything you need to know when you use Revolut Pro. They simply explain what you need to know in addition to our conditions for individuals.
3. Can I open a Revolut Pro account ?
You can open a Revolut Pro account if you:
- Have a particular revolut account;
- are a natural person working as a self -employed (and not a business);
- will use your Revolut Pro account only for professional purposes; And
- are approved following our integration checks.
You must continue to meet these criteria after opening your Revolut Pro account. If you don’t, we may have to close it. Sometimes we will have to perform additional checks before we can allow you to use other services available with Revolut Pro when you have not used them before. This is the case for our payments processing product, and we explain these services a little more and the checks that we will have to perform beforehand under the conditions of payments of payments.
An independent natural person is a person who conducts a professional activity in their own law. These people are sometimes called “self-employed” or “self-employed worker”. To be a natural person simply means that you are a real human being and not a constituted society.
If you are looking for an easy-to-manage account for your independent work or your micro-enterprise in parallel with your account for individuals, Revolut Pro is probably made for you. If your business is developing or you need more features, you may need to create a Business Revolut Account instead.
You cannot open or have a Revolut Pro account if your business or your activities are related to the following:
- dating and escort services;
- pornography;
- weapons;
- stones, works of art or precious metals;
- Management of an auction house;
- cashback services;
- chemicals and associated products;
- Arcaded rooms offering video games;
- cryptocurrency exchanges;
- Sale of used cars;
- binary options or money games;
- debt covering; Or
- trade in bank guarantees, denying, credit letters or medium -term tickets.
We can refuse to let you open or have a revolut account if you carry out another activity that we do not approve. We are also likely to apply restrictions on your professional account and, if necessary, we will inform you before the opening of the account.
4. How can I register to open a Revolut Pro account ?
To register for Revolut Pro, you must have (and continue to have) a particular revolut account existing.
Then you can ask to register for Revolut Pro in the application. You may have to provide us with additional information, either when you ask to open your professional account, or later. We will examine your request and decide if you are eligible for a Revolut Pro account. For example, we may not be able to accept market companies or the sector in which you carry out your activities. Normally, we will take a decision immediately in the application, but sometimes our decision can take more time.
We can cancel our decision and close your Revolut Pro account at any time if we consider that you are no longer eligible for a Revolut Pro account.
Remember that Revolut Pro is only available for independent natural persons (and not companies) and can only be used for professional purposes. See section 3 of these pro conditions for more information.
Otherwise, when you ask to create a professional account, the provisions of our conditions for individuals who describe when we can allow you to open an account (or close it) apply.
5. How can I add and withdraw money on my Revolut Pro account ?
Your Revolut Pro account is of the same type as your existing private revolut account. However, this is a separate account. It has its own separate balance, its own account number, its own transaction history and is accessible separately in the application.
You can add money to your Revolut Pro account from your private revolut account. You can also recharge your Revolut Pro account directly from the external sources that we make available in the application.
You can withdraw money from your Revolut Pro account using your Revolut Pro card, making a outgoing payment or transferring money to your private revolut account.
Since you should only use your professional account for professional expenses (and cannot use your personal account for professional expenses), we must maintain these separate sales. This means that if you have no more money on your professional account, all the payments you are trying to make on your pro account will fail, even if you always have money in your particular account (and identically in direction reverse).
Otherwise, when you add or remove money to your professional account, the parts of our conditions for individuals who describe our addition and withdrawal services apply.
6. For what type of transactions can we use a Revolut Pro account ?
Revolut Pro is intended for your business or micro-enterprise. It can only be used for professional purposes. This means that you cannot use your Revolut Pro account or your PRO card for personal transactions (and you cannot use your private account for commercial transactions) either.
By opening a Revolut Pro account, you accept that:
- You will use your Revolut Pro account only for professional (and non -personal) purposes).
- If we give you a pro card for use on your Revolut Pro account, you will only use this card for professional expenses (and not personal).
- You will also not perform any of these operations on your specific account if they are linked to a professional activity.
Otherwise, we are likely to close your pro account.
Otherwise, when you make transactions on your professional account, the parts of our conditions for individuals who describe these services apply.
You can also use your PRO account to access other additional services such as our payment processing product, which is covered by payments to pay payments. If we accept that you use this product, you can use Revolut to accept the payments of people who buy your goods or services as part of your professional activities.
7. What costs apply to Revolut Pro ?
There is no fee to open or have a Revolut Pro account. As long as you have a special account eligible for pro, you can open a professional account for free.
The costs that apply to the use of your pro account are the same as those that apply to the use of your specific account. These costs will depend on the type of particular account that you have. For example, if sending a payment of a certain type to your particular account costs 1 EUR/GBP (or your local currency), it will cost the same amount in your professional account. All transactions on your pro account will also be taken into account within the limits of your specific account. For more details, see the cost page that applies to your special account. On this page of the costs, you will also find the costs that apply to your use of the payment processing product covered by the conditions of payments of payments.
The only time you pay different costs for using your pro account is when you order a pro card. The cost of this card, as well as any delivery costs, will be indicated in the application before you agree to order a card. The pro card is not taken into account in the ceiling of the card of your personal subscription.
8. How can I get cashback on Revolut Pro ?
You can get cashback when spending with your Revolut Pro card.
You will benefit from cashback on any national or international transaction carried out using your Revolut card, with the exception of transactions in excluded merchants or species transactions. The exact rate of cashback offered to you will be indicated in the Revolut application. Please go to the cashback section, on your Revolut Pro Home screen, to see updated cashback rates.
We are likely to modify the rate of cashback that is offered to you at our full discretion at any time. Please note that the cashback rate you see in the application is always the rate you get.
You will not gain cashback on transactions with excluded merchants. Excluded merchants are traders with the following MCCs, or “Category codes of the merchant” (these are codes used on card networks to determine the nature of the activity of a merchant). The excluded MCCs are:
- 4829: money transfers
- 6010 and 6011: cash resistance
- 6012: goods and services – client financial institutions
- 6050 and 6051: quasi-argent
- 6211: valleys in securities / merchants
- 6540: interaction point financing transactions
You will not gain cashback on species type transactions. This means that any purchase which is not an authentic purchase of goods or services (for example, card transactions to payment service providers, providers of service games, gift cards or exchange currencies, money transfers, financial or investment services, or any similar transaction) is not valid.
Remember that you can use your Revolut Pro account only for professional purposes. This also applies to your Revolut Pro card; It should only be used for professional expenses. If you use your pro card for your personal expenses, we can cancel any cashback that you have received and close your retail and pro accounts.
We cannot give you cashback when this would break a law or regulation.
You agree that we can cancel any cashback that you receive if:
- The payment which made it possible to obtain the cashback is reimbursed to you;
- You have obtained a cashback in a fraudulent manner; Or
- You have broken this agreement to obtain cashback.
If we cannot recover the amount of cashback on your account, you will always be required to reimburse us the amount concerned. We can then recover the amount from a stored card or apply our compensation right. We may also use legal measures to recover the amount you need. If this is the case, you will have to pay the appropriate reasonable costs.
9. Various legal provisions
Treatment of your payments
From time to time, we are required to ensure that your activity and your information remain in conformity and up to date. This can happen due to an event or in the context of periodic checks. We may thus have to suspend your account, or a payment made on it, until these checks are completed. We may also have to ask you for information to complete our verification. To reduce any form of inconvenience towards you, please quickly provide us with the required information.
Closure of your account
You can close your Revolut Pro account at any time in the application. The closure of your PRO account will not close your particular account, but this will mean that you will lose access to any other service linked to your professional account, as our product processing product.
We can also close your Revolut Pro account, but only if you violate these pro conditions or our conditions for individuals, or if we have another legal reason to do so. If we do it, all funds in your pro account will be retransfeated on your particular account (unless we are required to keep the funds to carry out checks) and you will lose access to all other services related to your professional account such as that the payment processing product.
We will also close your Revolut Pro account if we have to close your special account.
Remember that, unless expressly changed in these pro conditions, our specific conditions apply to your use of Revolut Pro, as are the conditions for paying payments. This means that all the rights you and we have under our conditions for individuals and payments processing conditions also apply to your use of Revolut Pro. For this reason, you must read all these pro conditions, our conditions for individuals and the conditions for paying payments.
