It’s been a while since Samsung offers more affordable versions of its high -end devices. And this year, the manufacturer should offer the cheaper version of the Galaxy S23. According to rumors, this device will be called Galaxy S23 FE or “Fan Edition”. While waiting for the formalization of this smartphone, many rumors already circulate about it. And recently, the Twitter account of Evan Blass (a source of “leaks” respected in the world of tech) published an alleged rendering of the future Galaxy S3 FE.

If rumors are correct, this smartphone will complete the Samsung Galaxy S23 series. And not surprisingly, the design is almost similar to that of the S23. The image published by Evan Blass allows us to have a 3D overview.

A high -end high -end device

Obviously, so that the price of the Galaxy S23 FE is lower than that of the S23, Samsung will have to make some concessions in terms of characteristics, to lower manufacturing costs. And it seems that it is in terms of cameras that the Korean giant will make sacrifices.

According to our colleagues from Sammobile, the Galaxy S23 Fe should have a 6.4 -inch Amoled type screen, with a bubble for the front camera. This front camera would have a resolution of 10 megapixels, while the S23 has a 12 megapixel sensor for selfies. On the back, the S23 Fe would have a 50 megapixel main camera, an ultra-angle of 12 megapixels and an 8 megapixel telephoto with X3 optical zoom. On the S23, the telephoto has a resolution of 10 megapixels.

Otherwise, Samsung could also sacrifice the processor so that the Galaxy S23 Fe is more affordable. Indeed, while the S23 has a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor modified to boost performance, the Ultra S23 would be satisfied with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor or an exynos 2200. In essence, it would be a flagship of 2023 which would use a processor of 2022.

Everything will depend on the value for money

But of course, for the moment, this information is to be considered with caution, since it does not come from an official source. What is clear is that this affordable flagship could help Samsung to boost its sales, if it manages to offer a good value for money.

Currently, it is rumored that Samsung could, later, launching versions “fan edition” (and therefore more affordable) of its folding smartphones. If Samsung foldable screens are sold, their prices are still very high. But thanks to a FE version, Samsung would allow its fans to have folding devices while avoiding current prices.

Google Play Console brings the necessary evidence

Obviously, Samsung has not yet given any indication about the characteristics of the Galaxy S23 Fe. Nevertheless, some wise people have managed to have proof that the smartphone would be presented in two versions. A first model which is equipped with an Exynos 2200 processor while the second ships a snapdragon 8 gen 1 chip.

To achieve this conclusion, they did some research in the Google Play Console. This allowed them to deduce that a variant of the Galaxy S23 FE has a processor S5E9925 where the second variant has a SM8450 processor. The first is the code name that was given to the Exynos 2200 chip while the second is that of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1.

In all likelihood, the snapdragon version of the smartphone should be sold on two markets: China and the United States. For its part, the Exynos version is intended for the rest of the world (Africa, Asia, Australia, Europe and Latin America).

Unlike the first rumors, The Galaxy S23 Fe will not be available during this month of September. Its release would be rather in October. Regarding the RAM that the smartphone embeds, the two versions indicate 8 GB of RAM. Which means that in the end, the phone will not be available in 12 GB version of RAM.

The other characteristics of the Galaxy S23 FE

In recent weeks, Samsung’s smartphone has been the subject of a multitude of leaks that have revealed part of its specifications. So, thanks to official renderings, It appeared that the device will have a 6.4 -inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X screen. The latter would offer a Full HD+resolution, a 120 Hz refresh rate as well as HDR10+.

Like many phones recently designed by the Korean brand, the Galaxy S23 FE will be equipped with a fingerprint reader and a stereo speaker.
